There are also builds by @ddudek77 but I don't really know the difference between those two.
First issue nowadays is to find a working link to get TWRP recovery 3+ for this device

Read the latest post on page 5 for installation instructions. If you want Android 10 they do have a LineageOS 17.1 as well.
i have the aosp gsi for 12, thats as close to vanilla you can get without a pixel phone lol. it comes up in developer options for me on gsi treble roms. i domt know if oos brings them up. they dont work as dsu images, but i flashed one like any other gsi, low and behold it worked great for the few hours i had it installed

Not possible. It's too old to be upgraded to this version. I got my Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 upto Android 7.1.2 from Android 5 and then 6 (after support end).
