Having issues connecting phone to the S7plus.
The idea is to work with it as a clone or extention of my oneplus 7.
Have it Bluetooth connected to my phone currently. and most stuff works fine.
But doing phone or text does not work. and will not connect. (Maybe a seperate app?)
And trying to mirror screen to tablet does not work , tried everything except seperate app as well.
Seems to work fine on everything else. Just trying best to connect phone to it as much as possible.
The "Call and text on other devices" feature on the tablet only works with newer Samsung phones. It's built into the OneUI framework.
It uses your Samsung account to sync message data.
Any Ideas on mirroring phone screen to tablet?

I have a weird problem with my SGSII. If i connect my phone to my car bluetooth with the car charger, it stay connected for as long as I am in the car. If however i connect to the car on battery, once the screen turns off I lose bluetooth connect. I have tried changing the screen time and that didn't work, I also tried making my bluetooth visable always and that also didn't work. Can't understand why it only happens while on battery.
Any suggestions?
I have the same issue with bluetooth on my SII.
Whenever the screen is asleep bluetooth devices will not connect, I have to turn the screen on to allow the devices to connect.
I've setup auto pairing in the linkkeys file which works fine if the screen is on (so no prompts to pair devices, just works).
The main device I want to use is a liveview, which I understand has problems, but I've tested other devices and the phone seems to be at fault.
It can't be designed that bluetooth will only connect if your using your phone, kinda defeats the purpose of most bt devices.
tried making my phone always visible, and even tried disabling the lock screens.
using CM7 stable, and a fix would be highly appreciated!
Hmmm.... I don't have that problem.
Maybe some weird power save option?
that's what I was thinking, but I've not been able to find any settings on the phone or through google.
I've just updated to the latest cm7 nightly and the problem seems to be the same. It has an addition bluetooth setting called 'Fast Connections' but this doesn't seem to change anything.
The only other thing I've noticed is that the linkkeys file that I edited to allow the liveview to auto pair (without me having to pull down the notification bar nad authorise it) seems to keep re-editing the file so the phone prompts to pair, so I'm assuming now that's the issue rather than a power thing, so how to prevent that?
Hi,
My friend asks me to backup her SMSs from a phone with complete nonworking screen. The phone is htc adr6400l thunderbolt 4g. I tried different programs, but all of them require Debug On that I can not do since the screen is broken. The device doesn't support MHL, so I am unable to use TV screen instead. I usually use MyPhoneExplorer, but now it is unable to connect to the device. ADB doesn't see this device as well. As I know, it runs Android 3.x. She already backed up her phone book in carrier's store, but they don't have such service for SMS.
Is any way to reach SMS base at the phone without Debug On?
Thanks in advance
I'm not sure how I did it (and I'm scared to try to recreate it in case I lose it), but I've managed to get bluetooth debugging working while paired with my iPhone. It requires another Android device. I'm not sure if this was the exact order of things, I was resetting the watch so many times that it may have remained partially configured from the Android app rather than the iPhone app.
I'm not sure the steps I took exactly, but I think what did it was this (obviously this will require factory resetting your watch):
Paired the device with my Galaxy S2X using the Wear app (like normal), then paired it as a bluetooth device with my iPhone (using the Bluetooth menu in the watch settings)
Enabled ADB Debugging/bluetooth debugging on the watch and in the Wear app, and connected at least once to the shell (so it can authorize and remembers the device ID). Instructions here.
Factory reset the watch, and then paired it using the Wear app on the iPhone
Make sure you do not "Forget" the watch on the Android device!
On the Galaxy, I went into bluetooth devices and the watch was still paired so I tried to connect (the device name matched what the iPhone found it as). I got a pairing request on the watch and accepted it.
In the Wear app on the Galaxy, I went into settings and down to Debugging Over Bluetooth, the Target showed as connected.
Try to connect to BT debugging as normal (as shown above). The Host should now show connected in Wear on the Android phone.
Download and use 'adb -e install' as much as you would like to install APKs!
As a note, obviously any wear app that requires a companion app (Wear Mini Launcher ) won't work properly.
I've synced Google Maps (which works great, and I'm not sure why it's not packaged with Wear for iOS), Calculator, a few games, some more watch faces. It makes the watch a bit more usable!
With this, I've also been able to enable wifi using a wifi connection manager app (and sending input to the device using adb to "type" the password), which allowed me to add an FTP server to push more apps + music + watchfaces + almost anything I want, enable wifi debugging and so much more!
If anyone is able to try this and reproduce the same results, could you report back here? This will be helpful to anybody that is stuck with an iPhone like me (work provided) may now have more use for their watch other than as a glorified heart rate monitor!
@Skellums were you able to ever recreate this? I just switched to the iPhone and I was hoping to at least sideload Google Fit, I don't know why it didn't just come built in. I wish AW 2.0 would get here already

I haven't been able to try as I'm afraid of losing the connection!
I think one step I left out of the original post was I tried to do the command to sync it with another device (using ADB) found here. While connected and paired with the Android phone, enable ADB debugging and run the commands. Then factory reset the watch, sync with the iPhone, and attempt the Bluetooth connection from the Android phone again.
Again, I know I did a bunch in between so I'm not 100% certain on the exact sequence of events that caused it to allow the ADB connection. If I had another watch to test with I would but I'm worried if I factory reset I won't be able to recreate the connection, or it might factory reset back to the exact state it's already in allowing the connection already.
I dropped my s3 and now it has a very thin crack on it. First I was able to see some colours but now it is only black - touch screen gave no response aswell. I was also lucky enough to get the battery out on the initial drop so now all I can do is turn the phone on with or without simcard and let it connect to Wi-Fi. There were no SD Cards aswell.
The phone is not rooted, it is just "stock" in every way.
Getting it repaired costs more than what I paid for it while buying it from a friend years ago so I'm not even considering to get it repaired, I will buy a new smart phone, probably a Galaxy Note 4 or 5. (I'm not sure but this info might be useful. My smart phone knowledge is not much but may be there is a way to fix my issue(that I am explaining below) with the use of a Galaxy Note - without disintegrating the new Note)
My problem is that I need to retrieve a phone number that I didn't have the chance to save yet at the time of the drop. The number is probably one of the latest 5 in Call History and there was also an SMS that came from that number - that specific SMS was saved on the phone, not the simcard.
Absolutely nothing happens on computer side(Windows 7 Ultimate) when I plug it via USB. Can't see the content of the phone in File Explorer or anything else. I updated drivers. The phone starts charging, though.
Samsung Kies does not work as it does not recognize the phone when connected via USB and I need to scan the QR Code to connect it via Wi-Fi which is impossible since I can not give any commands to the phone nor see anything but a black screen.
I have this Samsung Link program. It recognizes the phone through Wi-Fi and I can browse files in the phone from my computer. I checked all files, there is nothing SMS or Call History related. On my web searches, I found out that SMS messages are stored in "/data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databeses/mmssms.db" but there are no such folders that start with "com.android.providers".
I did not have debugging or other things active at the time and I can not turn anything on or off. It only has Wi-Fi enabled.
I can't even turn the phone off except for pulling the battery out since I need to touch the shut down option that comes in the menu when you hold the power button on the side.
Is there a way to view my Call History or SMS messages from my computer? Please bear in mind that I can not install any apps or give any commands at all to my phone by the use of its screen and it is not recognized by the computer when it is connected via USB.
Most success I've had is the program called Samsung Link that allows my computer to connect to the phone by Wi-Fi and browse files, pictures, videos and such. (Also I did another check for both USB and Wi-Fi connections while typing these. USB still does not work)
I do not have access to another phone to swap screens-motherboards-whatnot.
Kind regards.

You won't be able to view the stuff you're looking for with a file manager on PC, Windows can only view the MTP portion of your sdcard, it cant access or view your system partition which is where mmssms.db is located. You will need to have the device rooted in order to retrieve the files you're after.
You can connect a USB mouse to your device and make selections using the mouse instead of touch, the tricky part is knowing where things are on the display to select them, you can use screenshots of the needed screens from another device like yours. If you can get it to connect to PC via VLC you can share the screen to your PC and navigate that way(you'll need root to access the folder you're after), if you can get it to screencast you can navigate that way also.
Regardless of whether you repair the screen or not, you will have to root the device to do what you're doing.

You can also try flashing a custom recovery(CWM if you can get it, what I'm talking about might not work with TWRP and if it did it would still be tricky). CWM can be used by the hardware keys to make selections where TWRP is touch which wouldn't work for you. With a CWM custom recovery you could make a backup of the device then copy the backup over to PC then extract everything you need. You could even root and flash TWRP then boot to TWRP and connect to adb and use adb to create a backup, there are instructions that are easy to find for creating backups with adb, just make sure you understand the instructions so that you're sure you're retrieving everything you need. Then extract what you need from the adb backup.
Maybe easier but more time consuming, contact your service provider and have them send you a copy of your call history, it should all the numbers you've called during the period of time that you ask them for.

I have a Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with stock Oreo. Not rooted (yet ) and probably going to put a custom ROM in soon.
I just bought an Innuevo Bluetooth keyboard (older - BT 3.0) and was able to pair it almost immediately. It worked fine, but when I went to use it again (after turning the keyboard off to save power), it wouldn't pair. I unpaired the keyboard on the tablet, and unfortunately the tablet's BT no longer detects the keyboard at all.
Have tried everything troubleshooting-wise: clear cache, reset network settings, off/on/scan a million times, different BT connection app... nothing. It simply doesn't see it.
My Windows 10 laptop was able to detect the keyboard and start the pairing, but crappy Windows 10 keep aborting the pair procedure (e.g., typing in the code) early. Then the keyboard also disappeared from the laptop's BT radar. (Event log has lot of BT low-power warnings in it so I'm thinking it's Windows being Windows.) The keyboard briefly appeared on the detection list but then disappeared after several unsuccessful pair attempts.
Any idea if there's a way I can totally nuke the BT (other than a factor reset) to see if it'll detect it again? Also wondering if using Lineage or a other AOSP/non-TW ROM would help.
Thank you!!!
