Anyone having issues with wifi recently? I have two Moto G Powers that out of the blue started having issues with wifi. Its not a router issue as no other devices have issues.
As for the phones, I have tried the following with no success. I'm at a loss and could use some help.
- Re-established network connect
- Re-set network settings
- Set device to use physical mac address
- restarted phone
What am I missing?

When it works, it works great. Phone is not in air plane mode.
I hate to suggest this, but have you tried factory resetting your device?

No but with two of the exact same phones having this issue, I'm less inclined to believe a factory reset will solve the problem.

Hi, is anyone has the same problem? When I'm connected at home to my Tenda router (WIFI b/g/n) after cca 30 min. my phone WIFI stops sending and recieving data, Skype is offline, etc... but WIFI in phone is stil switched on. After I switch WIFI off and back on (on my Samsung, not on my router), everything works good for a while and after cca 30 min. is situation the same. Is there in Samsung any WIFI sleep mode or something like that? Or some settings, which is not visible? Any other suggestions? Sorry for my poor English. Thanx in advance.
I'm having the same problem. But I did a factory reset and it works fine afterward.
And just few hours ago, I encountered this problem again. What did to get this error was, I pressed "on samsungapps" and it failed to update and thus results wifi connection stopping. What about you? Also my Kies air is not working.
are you guys sure you have wifi sleep policy set correctly? just to be sure, settings, wireless, wifi, menu button, advanced, wifi sleep policy to NEVER.
Yes. And also even if i manually disconnect and reconnect the wifi back. The data still doesn't come in. It is stated there as connected but no data at all.
Somehow Wifi keeps searching every few seconds, even thought it's connected.
This is bound to cost in battery life too.
I have reseted router to default settings, disabled n mode, disabled security (only mac filtering is on), disabled all unnecessary features and PROBLEM IS SOLVED !!! Thanx God Tomorrow I will experiment with router settings to know, what was causing this error ;-)
Well at least u're connected, I'm facing the same problem as the thread starter. No data flow at all. Browser showing me offline msg. I had the same problem on the 1st day with the phone after I woke up. previously playing with most of the default aps. So i'm not sure what went wrong, did a factory reset and it works fine.
Until, few hours ago, I tried my kies air which didn't work. Browser couldnt load the address given. And I thought i had an outdated kies air, so i went to click on samsungapps, which failed to update me. At that point the wifi is still working, i leave my phone for about 30 mins, and when i came back. The same problem which happened on the 1st day came back. I was hoping to find an answer here so I didnt do the factory reset it. On another note, the phone wifi works after restart, but wouldn't last.
Edit: The wifi works after i resetted my modem to default. oh well. at least that solved it.

Hi,
Did you find out what setting was causing the connection issue? I also have this problem with my Tenda router. I thought it might be the wireless N, but disabling that doesn't fix it. I have a wireless distribution system set up with other tenda routers so didn't want to disable all the settings to troubleshoot if i can help it!
Thanks

I have the same problem, my router is N and the conection between SGS2 and my router is bad. Any idea?
Same problem here, I'm running WZR-AGL300NH in access point connected to my Ubuntu Server. Everything else works in the house just fine but SG2 stops transmitting data after a while.
I recently upgraded to KF1 firmware (and unknowingly wiped out whole phone, being on the bleeding edge and that didn't seem to help.
I would very much appreciate all tips because this problem is very annoying!
Additional Info:
- Buffalo is running latest firmware
- Authentication WPA2-PSK
- Encryption AES

Same symptoms here. Cisco DDR2200. WPA2 PSK. Haven't tried fiddling with the router yet.
This seems to be a common problem. Anyone knows of a definitive fix?
Bump...I have the same problem and the issue persists even after i reset the phone
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
Glad I found this, thought it was the ROM I had flashed to the phone (which is VillainROM)
I keep losing connection from my phone via wifi like everyone else in this thread
edit: I've just assigned my phone an IP address via my routers settings and I can connect to the net again
Also when it wasn't working, I couldn't ping the phone. When I assigned the IP just now I still couldn't ping it.
When I did a tracert to it, I could get to it when the IP was assigned and when it wasn't.
I have no removed the assigned IP for the phone from the router. Wifi connection is still working after disconnecting/reconnecting wifi on the phone.
I can also now ping the phone, where as before it was getting timeouts.
Also when it wasn't working the first time when I did a tracert it was showing up as HPsomething (didn't make note of the numbers)
this time when it is working it's just showing up as the IP address when doing a tracert.
Another update:
Just checked my printer, it has an IP address manually set on it, which at one stage when the phone wasn't working for internet it had the same IP as the printer, hence when tracert'ing it I was going to the printer instead of the phone and getting the HP etc back.
When it wasn't working at that time and looking at my routers DHCP list, it had the MAC Address of the phone against the IP that the printer has....
So I've got some issues with how my own network is setup ^_^ which looks like is causing me grief.
So the issue is with DHCP? Setting a static IP fixes it? I'll have to try, but I doubt this is a problem with the network, as all my other devices use DHCP without this problem.
I have the exact same problem!!
It's really annoying.
i was having problems with wifi too.. it keeps scanning and checking, etc, signal dropping for no reason..
fixed mine..well for me it worked
backup ur phone ( i dont take responsibility if ur phone catches fire or dies or chases u around )
u need to be rooted
download FXR WiFi fix and rescue from market
and just run the app.
now my wifi signal stays constant speed and i get good speeds
alternatively try
WiFi Fixer
both of them will cause high battery usage..i think since it keeps the signal at maximum.. so only enable wireless when i need it or use juice defender or green power.
greenpower seems great. using this at the moment
My Mozart for some reason can no longer find my home wi-fi network. It was working just fine 10 minutes ago and now, all of a sudden I unlock it and theres no Wi-Fi connection. Checked in Settings but the network doesnt appear in the list anymore.
The network is fine as im using it on my laptop now to type this and on my iPad. I tried switching Wi-Fi on an off several times and also rebooted the device many times too. I also tried adding the network like it was hidden, but no avail...
Any ideas?
UPDATE (PROBLEM SOLVED)
Okay i got the problem fixed, it wasnt a Windows Phone problem, my router suddenly decided to change the channel it was broadcasting on, it was 6 before, bumped it to 11 and now the phone is able to connect again XD
Are you running Mango?
I had problems connecting to my Wi-Fi pre-Mango when the SSID was hidden. Mango, however seems to connect fine in this scenario.
Apologies... I just re-read your question. I seem to have mis-read the NON HIDDEN network.

Yeah im on official Mango, forced it through Zune... And im certain my network isnt hidden...
If you go to Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Advanced is the network shown as a 'Known network'? If so, remove it restart your phone and try again.

It was listed and yeah, i tried that too, didnt work.
I think i'll hard reset the phone to the original pre-NoDo ROM and see if i have the same problem, if I do then it might be a hardware issue? Good thing I still have my warranty...
[UPDATE]
I just reset the phone, lost all my data for nothing -.-
[UPDATE 2]
Restored the phone to 7008, same problem... I'll reset the modem in a few hours. I hope that's the problem because the phone has no problem finding and connecting to networks further away from me...
Have you tried enabling the SSID again in the router setup then connect on your handset and finally hiding it again through the router?

Hi,
I have recently bought a NATPC M009s with ICS on it. I'm completely new to android!
I'm having problems getting it to connect to wifi at home and wondered if anyone can help.
I have a BT home hub 2, the tablet will see the network and allow me to enter the wifi password but it then sits saying 'saved, secured with WPA' and no matter how many times I press connect it won't. Apart from very occasionally it will connect but there is nothing consistent as to why it suddenly decides to connect!! Other laptops and phones connect to the home hub fine
Things I have tried:
Setting a static IP for tablet on the home hub
Rebooting router and tablet
factory reset on tablet
factory reset on home hub
Downgrading to gingerbread (failed as the instructions on how to do it didn't work!)
Tethering tablet via wifi to my iphone (connects no problem)
Searched forums for previous posts with similar problems - no luck!
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it connecting reliably?

This is really odd, I suggest you try to very temporarily turn off password protection on the WiFi network, just to see if thats what is throwing it off.
WiFi can be an oddball and doesnt confirm to logic.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion. Tried it and with security off the tablet connected (after 2 attempts - failed to get IP address on the first one).
I then put security back on, it connected once!! It then dropped the connection and won't connect again.
Arrgh! So frustrating.
So does this suggest that the security is the problem.... I don't know.
Any other thoughts?

Sounds like a defective WiFi hardware. You get a too low signal reception and/or transmission, corrupting most of your frames. Try placing it as close to the router as possible and see if there's any change. Or get the unit replaced.
Hi everyone.
I got two brand new SIII GT-I9300 with android 4.1.2 version.
They both have the same problem: when I try to connect to my home wifi connection it says "authenticating" for a couple of seconds an then "disabled".
The network is working, laptops and other android devices are connected.
I tried to digit *#0011# and disable there the power saving mode, but nothing changes.
Can someone please help me?
Thanks

what rom are you using?
router settings?
did you check if the number of connected devices is limited or if there are any other restrictions in your router settings?
First factory reset that will clear user errors
I already did the reset of factory settings but with no result.
Router has no limit, but I just found out that wifi works with other networks.
I guess I will have to change some settings in the router, I wonder what.

Disable security and test
Hi All,
I just received a replacement for my V10 that suddenly died and I'm now having Wi-Fi connection issues.
When I brought it home yesterday the phone was still on 5.1.1 but updated overnight to 6.0 both experienced the same issue.
I have not rooted my device yet but will in the near future.
I have 3 different access points in my home with different id for each.
I can connect to one of them but not the other two.
When I try to connect it I eventually get a WI-FI connection error, or the connection is labeled disabled, or the connection doesn't connect and just shows saved.
I have tried:
1) reset the router
2) changed the password
3) changed to an open connection e.g. no password
4) forgotten then connection on the phone
5) restarted phone
none of these have fixed my issue.
Anyone have similar issues?
Anyone have any ideas for a fix?
Thanks you all for reading my problem.
steve
Just started having a similar issue yesterday. Stock MM, no root. Factory reset had no effect.
Maybe you can join my thread, I have problem with wifi also. You can check if we have same issue and may try my workaround http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-v10/help/wifi-mac-address-changes-reboot-h90120j-t3470140
I actually just noticed this on my phone yesterday. It seems to happen to me when the wifi signal is a bit weaker (but should still be able to connect). My wife's V10 didn't have an issue though. Haven't find a solution yet, but my wifi would also not find any connections after it would disconnect and have to rescan to locate any networks.
