Last week, I switched from a OnePlus 7 Pro to the Galaxy S21. I'm definitely taking my standard S21 back today because I think it's just too small for what I like. Plus, it randomly gets very hot for no reason. This occurs in safe mode as well, so I know it's not any of the apps I'm using. I'm having a hard time deciding whether to go with the 9, 9 Pro, S21+, or S21 Ultra. Of course, the Ultra is top of the line, but it's so big and heavy. I love the size and form factor of the OnePlus 9, but I don't like that it's not QHD. Plus, I've read and watched a lot of reviews that said the Hasselblad partnership seems to be mostly hype, and didn't really make the cameras that much better. That's the only issue I've had with all of my OnePlus devices since the 6. I'm not a crazy camera user, but I do like to get a great photo now and again. A friend of mine said he tried the S21 Ultra, but it didn't really fit well in his front pocket, especially when sitting down. I worry that that would drive me insane.

I've been always a Samsung Note user.
Since the first Note made by Samsung, I had most of the Notes. I basically like it's king-sized screen.
At the beginning, the Note was the smartphone with the biggest screen of all, so I bought it even though I didn't use the S-pen.
Lately I've been thinking on switching my Note 8 for the Samsung S10+ (similar screen size, but noticeable shorter and without s-pen (which I barely use), so I just went out there and bought the 1TB version.
Well, the word to describe my experience was: deception. I really didn't find any noticeable differences between the usage of the Note 8 and the S10+, other than cosmetical features. It makes sense as the Note 8 was (a couple of years ago) Samsung's flagship, so it should have enough processor power to still be a useable smartphone (as it is) nowadays.
I also thought
I didn't get the (what I call) 'WOW effect'. I only could appreciate the S10+'s performance running Antutu, where the S10+ of course almost doubled my Note 8 (31k points versus 16k I think).
The 'ultrasonic fingerprint reader' featured in the S10+ was convenient because it's located in the front screen (rather than the backside as is located in the note 8) but that was it. I didn't find it faster than the Note 8's fingerprint reader. I still find faster the Note 8's iris reader. I'm super-happy with the iris-reader as it can see even through my glasses and even mirrored sun-glasses.
I also thought that, with 1 terabyte of capacity, the S10+ could make longer super-slow motion videos, but no way. Just 2 seconds of super-slow-mo, just as the old Note 8.
So, in my opinion, the S10+ wasn't worth the thousand bucks I paid for, so as I had problems with the charger not functioning properly, and somehow disappointed by the lack of what I call 'WOW effect', I decided to return the phone and get a refund. I think I will wait to see the next Note 10...
Just wanted to share with you pals.
Hey, well I have both too, the exynos note 8 and snapdragon s10+, the only thing I love from the s10+ are the battery life, in my note 8 that has a 87% battery health lasts 4hrs sot and the s10+ gives me more than 6hrs sot. Other thing good is the selfie camera it looks great on the plus, the principal camera in my opinion looks very similar (I haven't tried yet the night mode). Besides those two things the note is really great. Heck is the phone I'm using right now.

Worth buying if around 440USD? Hardware wise seems like still a good phone but only thing I see is the camera is starting to lack in quality but in fairness that was against more recent models. Would you buy a mate 20 pro considering how long ago it came out?
I have an S10e for work and to be 100% honest I prefer EMUI 10.1 over One UI 2.1, although Samsung do pack in a lot of stuff that could be useful.
I use both in dark mode but the Huawei feels a little more friendly than the Samsung.
If given a choice of a Note 20 or a Mate/P 40, the lack of GAPPS is a deal breaker so it would have to be the Samsung but the Mate 20 Pro doesn't feel lacking at all even though it's now an old model. The hardware was absolutely top shelf when it came out and software updates have kept it relevant.
I did!
Fantastic phone. Camera is great. No complaints, it's fast and a sophisticated device. No regrets whatsoever.
I did as well.
I actually recently bought a second one with the 8gb RAM this time and bigger memory. I was even more excited about it now than I was the first time.
I had looked and compared all the phones out there and the specs just weren't worth it for me, not to mention the size of this is perfect to hold and it's not too wide like all the other phones.
Another spec was the fast charging. You don't realize what a great feature that is until you need your phone charged real quick. Companies just now are putting out 40W fast charging which this phone had since 2018. The battery is great too, it holds up very well unlike other phones I've seen tests on that have the same battery size.
I wanted to wait for the Mate 40 Pro but I don't know how I would deal with the lack of Google since I use google related apps.
So overall for now, I picked this one again.
Definitely worth it.
It's still a great phone but I would go for a pixel or note now, if I wanted an Android in 2020... Sadly newer Huawei phones don't have Google services.
Personally I'm moving to iPhone when my contract ends but I'd recommend note 20, or Note 10.
I'm in the mix to possibly buy a P6 , but I'm curious what phone you're leaving behind. Plus, how has the new phone compared or not?
Galaxy S9.
So far, I'm happy with the Pixel 6 - my biggest issues have been the menu differences (coming from Android 10) and I'll admit I'm missing a couple of the features of Samsung's One UI.
Pixel 3a XL. Nearly identical overall size, but the P6 screen is much bigger (smaller bezels) and nicer. Overall the camera performance is slightly better, but having the wide angle lens is really nice. I also believe that Google will continue to tweak the software for the new camera chip and make the performance better over time. The fact that they were able to match the performance of the older camera chip (that they have been tweaking on for 3+ years) on release day is pretty amazing.
I've always purchased mid-price phones. I simply cannot bring myself to spend $1000 or more on a phone that regardless of how good it is, will need to be replaced in a few years. The price difference between the Pixel "A" series phone and the P6 was small enough and the extra features of the P6 were good enough that I decided it was worth the extra money to buy the P6. I would not however spend the extra $$ on a P6P over a P6.
I'm 100% satisfied with my upgrade and would make the same decision again after using the P6 since release day.
PS - I have zero issues with the finger print reader. I'm not running a screen protector at this time (but would like to). I have only saved each finger once as well as there has been no need to save it multiple times. I probably have a 95% first scan success rate.

Cool, you won't miss the bloatware
Lg Wing. Only because my hand was forced due to no more support. The phone itself was great. I hate Samsung and Apple. Motorola is basically garbage. One plus is too expensive for what I'm willing to pay, after a year on TMobile the 9pro was still above 1000. This left me with this phone as the only other reasonable choice. I am not the biggest fan so far.
Galaxy S20+.
OP8
Pixel 3... and I had a Nexus 6 before that. I love the carry size of the 3, but miss the screen of the Orca. The Pixel 6 is still narrower than the Nexus 6 was.

OP6T and OP8T. Great hardware. I was tired of waiting for updates.
P30 Pro. great phone but I'd broken screen, fprint reader and main mic. not economical to fix
From a OnePlus 6.

Been rocking a Moto Z2 Force for quite awhile before this. One thing I find myself doing after owning Moto phones the past decade or so is the "chop-chop" flashlight activation. Was very convenient. Miss that feature. Oh, and it's uncrackable screen. It took a beating, got scared up...but never a crack.
pixel 5
Pixel 2.
I'll miss the size of the P2 and overall it was a solid 4 yrs of trouble free service. We'll see about the P6.
Hey folks,
I have decided to try out pixel phones for the first time, even since nexus one I always wanted a Google phone especially with Nexus or pixel 5 those were right up my alley, but I never got in to it untill now. I keep on reading how good the camera is, how amazing everything is so I decided to give it a go. A little background, I love switching phones constantly, I have been using all sorts of phones, from LG, htc, iphone, a lot of samsungs, OnePlus, Huawei etc. My last phone was a Samsung note 20 ultra and I loved it, but that exynos battery and that curved screen just ... Awful. Anyhow ... I got a pixel 6 (not the pro, because I had enough of curved screens, horrible idea, and I am fed up with it) and so far so good. Here are my thoughts:
The good:
The camera looks baller, I am still experimenting with it, but so far so good I am impressed. I don't really do a lot of videos, so my main focus is the main camera and since I only care about ultra wide that too, I don't really care about telephoto.
build quality is good
the sound is good
the display is great(having in mind I am coming off a note 20 ultra, that is saying a lot)
the software is AMAZING Soo smooth it's great(although I do not use most of the things like assistant etc I love the whole package).
The bad or "meh":
the camera again ... I was comparing it with my note 20 ultra, and so far a years old phone that was not really in the competition was making on par photos if not better in some cases(I have to do more personal research here), and I compared it to a Huawei p40 pro with my friend ... (Again more than a year old phone) and I am astonished that that phone did some photos better and some were on par. We were comparing the main sensor only in normal light and at night. So this is some food for thoughts. -The build quality is good but this is the slipiest phone I have ever had in my life. And I am coming off of a note 20 ultra!!! This phone can't even stand on your lap without slipping away or in your pocket in the car. You MUST buy a skin or a case. This is a major no no for me as when I buy a phone for this kind of money I expect to be able to look at it and feel it, and not feel the case.
the software is amazing but very VERY restrictive and lacking in terms of raw baked in features compared to any other major brand. For example, you can't really customize your screen ... You have two big elements (search and at a glance) that can't be removed so they are taking 1/4 of your screen for no reason, this reminds me of Bixby on Samsung ...), Second Samsung phones have much much more information under battery info, for some reason here you have less... And similar stuff. -the battery (this might get better with time ... But I ain't holding my breath as underneath this chip there is Samsung) ... Right now I have 3.7h SOT with most of the time on 100% brightness last 20% I put adaptive with 60 Hz and my phone is on 18% now. 5his is my book is not good... Samsung exynos NOT GOOD.
Overall ... I love the phone so far, and I will be giving it much more needed time and see if I can change any of the bad like battery and camera in time be it if it adapts and if software updates change things. But whoever is looking at this phone and is on the fences bottom line is this is a good phone, and it's worth it in my book
Hi. I was looking to buy a couple of Nord 2s, since imo they seemed like good value. Anyone has any experience with the phone, and do you like it? I saw on some forums that they also say the phone is plagued with issues like apps crashing, false full storage errors and false SD card errors (even though it doesnt take an SD card). Has anyone had these negative experiences?
Looking forward to hear your thoughts.
By the way, we are not attached to OnePlus, maybe you have better suggestions. I just thought the phone represented good value for money at the price
great phone
I'm pretty happy with this phone. Big downsides of that phone is lack of one handed mode (but it should come with a12 upgrade, yes, it's still on Android 11) and other apps than stock camera have no access to ultra wide camera (people say that eis is not working on ultra wide but I didn't check). Solid phone but I regret not getting Samsung a52s, performance except games is similar and I do not play games but Samsung got 4 big updates and 5 years security compared to 2 and 3 with Nord 2. Updates are every other month, so also worse here than Samsung. Biggest downside for me and my regret is that support time.
Good day
What i like:
Dimensity1200 (fast);
Charging (Jesus, it is ultra fast!!)
Screen
Battery life
What i DON'T like:
Vibration - bad, samsung 10 times better
Camera - i don't like, especiali at night photos
Contacts and Caller apps(googles) really bad. You can download from googleplay, but this is not helps so much.
Before this phone i was on Samsung, next phone will be Samsung.
One day i look videos from galaxy note 9, and it was more times better than in Nord 2 5g on same resollutions. Like in Xiaomi a lot pixels in cameras, but no quality....
If you're considering to buy nord 2 just... just don't. Hardware is quite OK but it's let down by crappy, buggy, subpar software.
Camera is mostly like a kids' waterpainting. GCam helps a little but do not expect miracles. Cheaper phones produce much better images.
Oh yeah bluetooth doesn't work properly either.
I regret that I didn't go for a52s. System is working pretty ok, best experience in Android so far. More buggy than iOS of course.
Charging is awesome.
I was also complaining on photos, especially in night but when you turn on AI on photo it is making way better photos in night or closed rooms. There is also 3 second night photo which is also good thing. Not bad. Vibration is OK, not best but certainly not bad.
