I'm sure I'm posting this question in the wrong place but I cant find anywhere else SITEWIDE that gives me option to post. With that out of the way I'm trying to Unlock the bootloader and root my Note 10+ 5G (N-976U) running snapdragon. I see there is plenty of guides for the n-975 versions on Exynos but nothing where its specific to my device. Are there there different AP files or methods to unlock with Magisk on the 976 renditions or does it follow the same steps as non 5g versions? Thanks

Hello everyone.
I am searching on how to unlock a bootloader with FRP unlocked but Phone locked at the same time.
++ the bootloader unlock page from Huawei / Honor is down actually, since there's a 404.
My phone is the STF-L09 Honor 9 from France (do not know if it influences something). I wanted in first instance to install Magisk on this phone, because I like rooting phones and customize them a bit. I also want to delete some system apps that I won't use at all.
Any ideas ?
Thank you in advance for any answers given here,
ShadixAced.

Oppo has locked down the bootloader of their new devices from somewhere between 2018 and 2019. I can't root or install TWRP. Can anyone help out on this problem? I will be testing any method suggested. (if this is wrong place to post, please someone help me move it to the right place. I searched but couldn't find the place this goes.)
Okay, so this thing can't be unlocked for now, but there's a temp root solution. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/amazing-temp-root-mediatek-armv8-t3922213 this does work. But you need to have an OPPO F11 specific suboot script to put in the init.d folder. I don't have permission to post the file here. So talk with the dev on the thread and he'll set you up.
Hi guys, I know that not many people are using Oppo phones. But it would be different if they supported the development community by giving access to the bootloader. So, I've been Twitter chasing and emailing Oppo. For days I've been pressing them at lower levels. It would be helpful if anyone interested in unlocking Oppo phones would help out. Alen Wu is the only guy I could find that's high on the Oppo ladder that uses Twitter. https://mobile.twitter.com/AlenWuOPPO, but let's start emailing Oppo executives. (I'm still looking for email addresses, will update this later)

No, you can not. I have tried the OEM unlock. It is useless. Fastboot access is disabled in OPPO devices. Unless you have any new information, then that it's still the case.

Sadly, No. Though you may try amazing temp root found on the xda thread here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/amazing-temp-root-mediatek-armv8-t3922213 it did not work for me yet. But the dev is trying very hard. Go over there and show him some appreciation.

Yes, but it is a temporary solution. If the system detects root, turn off the set at boot in the script manager and then set it after boot.

They lie about the bootloader every time I ask them. My suggestion is that if you want to stick with OPPO never get an MTK version. They release bootloader unlock tools for the high end snapdragon chipset phones that they make. But others they lie about. I'm personally done with OPPO. This will be my only OPPO purchase. I clearly was misled by lies online about easy rooting and unlocking on OPPO devices. XDA wasn't much help with how they continue to promote OPPO even though it is not a development friendly OEM. My advice is to avoid OPPO devices.
Which version of firmware do you use?

Hello everyone,
I am forced to create this thread because I can't find any useful and good explanation of my problem.
I recently bought a Galaxy S10 and the root process seems to go wrong. I tried 20 times already to install TWRP and I all get is a bootloop after flashing the patched one.
So I have 2 questions:
- do I really need to patch TWRP? There are some contradictions in the threads which I don't understand
- is the latest firmware supported for the root?
Thank you for your help!
Do you have an exynos variant? If you have a snapdragon you can't root unless it's the hong kong variant.
If you knew what you are doing you would at least post the Model of your phone.
There are at least three variants.
I think you need to read the rooting thread carefully.

You could try using magisk. but then the next problem is how you could get the boot partition and how you could unlock bootloader
I tryied to patch the boot .img. I extracted from the firmware. It seems that that file is not recognised.

Did you got the boot by doing a readback/dump or by extracting it from ozip file?

Hey!! the real problem lies in flashing the patched_boot.img
You need to know that u can't flash anything unless your bootloader is unlocked
Sadly in realme and oppo devices unlocking bootloader isn't possible without the in-depth test app. This is provided my the manufacturer itself along with the kernel sources. Realme releases the kernel sources of each device after warranty period ,but oppo doesn't . Oppo has recently released the sources of a few devices ( best selling )
So the conclusion is u can't root unless oppo releases the in depth test tool.
And don't extract the boot from ozip with zip archiving tool
Use this

Got it, thanks all for help.
Then I will avoid OPPO in the future and I will not recommend it.
Low price, but the phone not totally mine. I bought it as secondary phone, in order to do tests for apps developed by me. So is useless for me in this case. Waste of time and money in my particularly case.
Also, my fault because I didn't he search really well before. I hope it is only my case. It depends what user needs are.
All the best,

Yeah even I think buying this phone was the biggest mistake I did and moreover u can't sell it too.
Anyway I gave it away to my dad
Really funny, me too, about one month ago to my mother
update:
I emailed oppo few days ago. they didnt reply about the bootloader but aparently they made the kernel source public. (link below)
but I think it's kinda useless since we still need unlocked bootloader to do any mods on this phone
(unless a signed programmer is available, there might still be hope if there is)

Sorry, but unlocking the bootloader is possible, there is an official program called in-depth test, using it and adb package, you can open the bootloader. The problem is that twrp does not support oppo a53.
So if we have access to the kernel and the ability to unlock using the in-depth test app has anyone path boot using magisk?

did you tried to do it? AFAIK there's no in-depth program specifically for oppo a53. you cant install the in-depth program that is intended for different oppo models.
Also, when you try to boot the phone to bootloader, it will show the bootloader splash screen for a split second then it will reboot, even though OEM unlock is turned on on the developer options
Hello. I have no clue how to root a Motorola. I'm used to Samsung. I know most of you think this is stupid, but I don't know how to root it. I have looked for it on google and either the tutorials suck or, well mostly they suck. I do want to use the stock ROM if that helps at all. But yeah, any answers will help, thanks, guys.

You will need to unlock the bootloader,
which is about 3 steps or so,
allow oem unlocking
get the device bootloader code
summit code to Motorola
receive unlock code via emai
send the code to the device
Then you can root
2 methods for that both using Magisk
Twrp method (if there's a Twrp recovery for your device)
Use Magisk app to patch the boot.img. then flash patched-boot.img
See links in
[Guide] Root Motorola with Magisk (UnLocked Bootloader)(Non-TWRP method)
Root Motorola Devices with Magisk Note: This method has been working with most Moto Devices that the Bootloader can be UnLocked. If the Bootloader cannot be Unlocked this method will not work. Please only use this as a reference. If you require...

If you use LMSA to get the stock firmware boot.img, be sure that LMSA has the same software version that is on your device.
It is possible that your device may have an OTA update that is not available Yet, there can be a couple of days delay for new firmware.
It's also possible that LMSA has a newer version than what is installed on your device, if that's the case you may want to update to new firmware before rooting.
For minor updates the boot.img should be compatible, if the android version changed you will need the correct boot.img
Thank you for your reply. I'm just wondering now how to get stock ROM?
