Hello everyone,
I have S8 (SM-G950F) on android 9 with (1.0) One UI Version and I want to downgrade to android 7 (Nougat)
First question :
Can I downgrade android 9 to 7 directly or downgrade 9 to 8 before, and 8 to 7.
Second question :
How to select a correctly build number on https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/SM-G950F/XEF/#SM-G950F to flash firmware.
My build number is PPR1.1806610.011.G950FXXSBDUA3
Thank you.

Hey there !! You want official firmware right ? If so you'll have to downgrade it via Odin. You can downgrade it directly from android 9 to 7. Build number doesn't matter here. The build number you have given here must be of android 9. Just select this version of android 7 ( if you want latest ) the one in yellow :

Yes, I want official firmware and downgrade via Odin. I thought we had to use only the same bootloader version. I was afraid to block my phone.
I will try it, thank you so much.

Hi bro,
My computer had a problem during this past time .
I can't download the official firmware from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ I must be premium.
Althought, I found the firwmare on https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G950F/XEF/G950FXXU1AQK7
But Concerning BIT (or SW REV) they say that:
"Samsung do not allows you flash lower SW. REV. for your phone. Do not try if you do not want your phone bricked"
What do you think about this ?

Hey brother. I am absolutely sorry but I can't help you about this. You see, I don't have a PC so I don't know any troubleshooting that might help. I have a Samsung galaxy tab 2 but I only use custom ROMs on it ( if I ever feel like reverting to stock, I use the stock-custom ROMs ) so I don't know. SORRY !!!
Hey sorry brother but actually you should have made this thread here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/f/samsung-galaxy-s8-questions-and-answers.6162/
This is the actual forum for s8, so you will definitely get help here.
Just request a forum moderator to move this thread to s8 question and answer.
i cannot even downgrade so i cannot freaking find a nougat for my version 6 bruh how to bypass the binary check and flash without fail?

How update
Insert the Micro SD card into the handset and power on. After entering call -> enter:*#*#2846579#*#* -> ProjectMenu -> Software Upgrade -> SDCard Upgrade-> OK,
Important:
To return full stock consider that B103 is first official full rom. Together with update.pp you must put also this file (unzip) to have this structure on dload directory

hi there...possible to find out how to check which ROM im on? and if im allowed to download other ROMs instead?
My VIE-AL10 (C00***) has already jumped two more versions. I was on B163 over the weekend and yesterday on to B169. It is good to see some mionor bug fixes coming through as and when rather than the once or twice a month depending if your running the developer ROM.

Thats the advantage of buying China version of the Phone. Developer rom gets updates every month, while stable version gets update about every 2 months. International version gets update like maybe twice a year.

great will go check later...have not even used the phone cause was unable to link it up with google contacts and google calendar which is pretty annoying as all my work contacts and appointments are linked to that.
was told there is some apps on the HW app store which allows for this will have to try it tonight. i think its called Calendar and contact sync adapter.
I've downloaded your B160 file and installed it over the phone menu
extracted the downloaded file, copied the update.app to the dload folder on my sdcard and then installed it without problems

If you can OTA update to the October security patch, it's best to use the installer from Hikari instead of the fastboot method I think.
The fastboot method here is just a system, boot, and vendor image. For me it didn't work, coming from a custom rom.
The method in Hikari's thread will make sure all your firmware partitions are correct.
Hi, I ordered the phone from china and looking to install a global rom so i can change the system to my native language. found this, is it just an update or the whole rom so I can flash it ?
tried to use Morelocal as it worked for me in other phones without rooting in the past using pm command, but it didn't work with the message : "Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission." please help

Stock ROM is also available on both sammobile and samfw to download. Which is where I got mine when I rooted the same model. You will also need universal safteynet magisk module to pass safteynet.
Edit: if you know how you only need to extract the boot file from the firmware convert it to a .tar and patch that. Much easier than the whole ap file

oh no! I have used home_csc unfortunately.
I'm lucky it didn't brick. And the knox looks like it's downgraded 3.8 api level 35 -> 3.7 api level 33.
So to emphasize, we have to use CSC_OMC_OXM only in this case? Thank you.
you can do every thing with your device. good luck and happy new year.
