No Sim after debloat - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Let me preface by saying I'm brand new to tweaking Android.
I have a Huawei Psmart 2019 , it's an old phone I wanted to experiment with in degoogling and just general tweaking.
I used adb to remove a whole lot of Google and Huawei apps and replace them with alternatives from fdroid. Following this I did a reboot and the phone no longer recognizes the sim cards. It just displays No Sim.
This is my second run through of this with this same error happening. After the first I did a factory reset which solved the issue and tried again. I can't be sure which package I removed both times to make this happen and I am hoping somebody can shed some light on the matter. If not, that's fine, I guess I'll just trial and error it until I find the culprit.
TIA!

'Google Talk authentication failed' error

I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?
Can anybody help me?
I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed
Let me just say, I have no idea why this thread was moved or resurrected. Whoever did so was about a year and a half too late. Please close/delete this thread.

com.android.stk - which part of "SIM Toolkit" does it implement

Hi!
I am wondering if the com.android.stk package is responsible for only mere displaying of so-called sim-menus (thus providing just a user interface) or does it really implement the SIM Application toolkit standard (is it GSM 11.14?) in full?
Why am I? I want to get rid of the package to prevent all these annoying clickbait popups from appearing on the screen. But I'm afraid the operator can also become unable to perform OTA updates of the SIM card or perform adjustments of the settings stored in the SIM.
Does anyone know something about it?

Lost the menu option to check software updates after removing Sprint bloatware

Hello, everyone. I removed plenty of bloatware from Sprint using ADB Shell. I checked a post about the LG G8 because of the annoying "Sprint activation" message everytime i restarted the phone. On that post, some users gave useful packages to remove to get rid of the bloatware, among them was the package com.lge.lgdmsclientspr that some user said was the responsible for the activation message. This was true, once I removed it, the message stopped. However, along with that, I lost the option to check software updates in the About Phone menu. Apparently, there's a package with a similar name com.lge.lgdmsclient that's responsible for the software updates. I did some searching and found the apk. I installed it successfully and I got back the option in the About Phone menu, but it doesn't work. When i press it, it tries to load something but nothing more. If I touch it again, a message appears telling me the app stopped working. I uninstalled it again, but I want to know if I can recover the menu option again without having to do a hard reset and having to tolerate the Sprint activation message each time I turn on the phone. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know there's a way to recover uninstalled apps via adb by using another adb command, you can do a Google search for this
For anyone seeing this at a later date, the command to reinstall apps removed with adb is
adb shell cmd package install-existing <package-name>

Device encryption questions

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 5G version SM-G977P on Sprint.
The issue I have is when rebooting the device, randomly it will change my userID to the point the system things it is being hard reset. All my apps force close and nothing works except wiping the data partition and re-setting up my entire device.
I have no idea what is happening, I thought I had all security disabled but something is causing a new user to be detected or whatever. All I know is its annoying. I do have EdXposed, which I want to keep, but I do not think that is the sole cause. I can't force it to happen either.
What I am looking for is someone who understands the startup/shutdown procedure for android and what things in that would cause this kind of behavior. I do have a logcat attached that was taken right after this happened.
Whoever helps me out, I wouldn't mind donating a beer/coffee, cause this is driving me mad.
Thanks,
Seth
Additional information:
So I installed an application via adb, and the device immediately showed the boot animation and soft rebooted itself. Which I overlooked, every time I would reboot the device, it was right after installing an apk via adb. Is there something with the installer that is screwing up and getting user information wrong?
Some more:
I noticed that device encryption is disabled but user_de still shows up. And when this random event occurs, apps crash because they can't read their data in the user_de location (Permission Denied) unless I set 777 to the entire contents of user_de. So the apps no longer are the owner of those files. Its so weird and I think what is happening is the device installs an app and gives it a different user or something and when I reboot, it makes all the apps have this owner and nothing can communicate.

If an app gets installed then by default it's always installed for the headlesss system user ( user 0 ).

That is what I thought.. But, ya know, they changed a million things in Android 10 to make it "more secure" so I have no idea what the heck is happening. Another thing I noticed is EdXposed log contains duplicate entries for loading of the classes, could this be part of the problem?
I honestly am so lost as to what could be doing this.

impossible to reactivate an application with Xiaomiadbfastboottools

Hello,
Small worries on the Redmi Note 8 T of my sweet. I disabled several apps with Xiaomi ADBFastbootTools tool a few months ago.
Today I wanted to reactivate them and impossible. This puts me for example:
App: Games
Package: com.xiaomi.glgm
Result: Failure
Done!
App: GetApps
Package: com.xiaomi.mipicks
Result: Failure
Done!
If I deactivate other applications, no problem to reactivate them.
An idea ?

My guess is you uninstalled the apps mentioned instead of disabling them. Do a Factory Reset to bring them back.
No, I did not uninstall them, only disabling them.
As already said, I tried to deactivate others and there is no problem to enabled them. Same for uninstallation ... I can reinstall them.
The problem is only present on these 2 disabled applications a few months ago.
I would like to avoid a factory restore.

You say you did nothing wrong, it must be the Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot tools. Wondering why you don't contact its developer?
Where can I contact him please?
