I installed the latest android 11. LineageOS 18.1 rom. on a SM-N910f. it's spotless. it uses just over 1.1 gb in ram! its very clean! i would really like if ANYONE could instruct me how to get a kernel or provide one, that allow to me to push the CPU from 2650mhz to 2800mhz or higher. and the GPU from 600mhz to 800 mhz on android 11! it can handle those numbers. i benchmarked them on older stock roms, i use this device for gaming and some light Vr sessions. it really needs the extra performance. and that extra performance is only available for old Android 6 roms. that are filled with stock apps! All i see on XDA continuously are just debloated roms on the latest android versions. with kernels that are focussed on battery life mainly! but none... not 1 focuses on giving the ability for the SM Note4 to go above its max stock frequenties!
developers why not ALWAYS give the user the ability if he wishes to go higher on CPU/GPU stock frequenties, on a rooted device with a kernel editor?
Google Cardboard VR apps also dont work. on linenage os android 10 or 11. for the SM-NOTE 4. the phone sensors are not being detected! by Google VR services.
however lineageos 17,1 Andoird 10. google cardboard vr does work just fine with an ancient! SM Galaxy 4
In android 11 permissions are reworked and as you may know, google doesnt support its own cardboad and daydream anymore so youre out of luck with android 11, to tweak the device gpu and cpu, you have to build youre own rom (i assume lineage os 17.1) from stock. Dokumentation how to do that, you may find on the official Lineage OS page, xda and github.

1. Posting in the android themes section isn't going to get your question answered.
Post about this in your device section or android questions and answers.
2. Use Google.
There are NO CUSTOM ROMS for your device
There are no developers active, the device has no support and cannot update due to its bad firmware that doesn't allow the bootloader to be unlocked, so it cannot even run a custom ROM.....
3. Did you not check the android version before purchasing? Thats just stupid.
This device is from 2016........no one should be buying 2016 hardware or a device with an android version which is over 4 years old in 2018.
For less than half the price you paid for that cool pad you could have got a Nokia 2.1 or Nokia 1 both are running android 8.1 or can install a project treble android P GSI - both those devices are project treble compatible!
Here's some interesting information....
Your purchase cannot be justified from the device specs, the current budget Nokia range use android GO and have been proven to perform much better and faster with much less powerful CPUs and far less ram that a more expensive multi core CPU device with 2 to 6 GB ......
These devices perform 15% faster and only use a small portion of on device storage.
As for your cool pad, You are stuck on lollipop I'm afraid.
Look at the price comparison of the cool pad A8 and the Nokia 1 with android 8.1 Go.
If you want the "latest" android version you always need to buy a device that has it, not buy a far more expensive one that has an android version that will no longer be supported in the next few months.
FYI - Google are going to make android 6.0 marshmallow a minimum requirement to run their apps early next year, and then are going to make android 7.0 nougat a minimum requirement to run their apps by the fall of 2019.
Got my hands on this device and would love to gift it to my mom but currently it has a really bad software with no native language which is a must. Since its a spare device I have laying around now I thought I could experiment on it and see if I could get a Lineage OS running on it. She is only gonna use the dialer, messages and possibly the camera so Play store and other apps are not needed.
I have some experience in modding and flashing but i've never ported a rom or created a rom for that matter so this will perhaps be my 1st one.
I've read through tutorials and all but feels quite overwhelming (maybe i'm reading at the wrong places or misinterpreting) but i'm hoping to fill that gap.
So the questions I have, is it possible to flash firmware from a similar phone with some minor changes and hope it'll work or is my only route to extract firmware blobs from phone and use that to create a LineageOS of the same android version with all the other steps required?
Phone has
CPU SD425 Cortex-A53 1400MHz (MSM8917)
GPU Adreno 308 500MHz
RAM 2GB LPDDR3 667MHz
16GB Storage + sdcard reader
TFT Screen 480x800
Android 6 is current version (Marshmallow)

I want the same thing
I found this: https://samsung.officialsforums.com/custom-rom-samsung-galaxy-folder-2-lineageos-14-nougat/ but the download links arent working.
Hello, everybody,
i have a Samsung Galaxy S9Plus / G965F / start2lte with Stock Android 10, on which i have flashed TWRP 3.3.1-0
So far I have used a Sony Z3 with LOS_16 from which there were regular security updates and such a setup was running as I describe it.
I would like to be as free as possible from Google, i.e. I make a point of not installing any unnecessary Google Apps/services.
Later the phone should be encrypted and rooted via Magisk to install at least the following basics (AFWall, AdAway/Blokada, Xposed Framework and Xprivacy).
I'm looking for a custom rom, preferably nothing experimental (so already pretty stable) and as up to date as possible and with regular security updates in the future.
I've looked at several ROM's here in the last days, LOS I knew from my Z3, the versions which are offered are either very experimental or comes with old security patches.
Others I have looked at (not tested yet). The first two looked promising (current, updates etc.) but always with Google Apps/services
EvolutionX / Google apps incl.
Galaxy Project / Google apps incl.
EthanRom / Security Updates September 2019
Havoc / Oreo 8.x security updates September 2018
Can anyone recommend me a ROM that fits my needs?
Hi all
I have a Tecno Spark 5 kd7s, which I now immensely regret buying.
I bought it after hearing a sales pitch from the lady, even so the specs are still impressive, and I love the camera.
Only thing, is HiOS (on which the Android system is based) is filled with adware, and bloatware, and there is no way of uninstalling the apps. The phone is sluggish, and certain apps simply crash. If there would be a way to remove this rubbish HiOS, and install a generic version of Android. If that was possible, this phone would be an incredible device, I've just had it with HiOS
If anyone is able to assist, it would be great.
Thanks in advance.
GSI (Generic System Image) is what you are looking for.

There are GSI(generic system image) ROMs, but they are built specific to your hardware architecture. Find out what your device's CPU architecture is and then try finding GSI ROMs for that CPU architecture.
Some devices require some modification before they can install a GSI ROM, you'll have to do some researching to discover whether or not you need to do anything to prepare your device to be compatible with the GSI before you try installing the GSI.
GSI ROMs themselves are "generic", but that doesn't necessarily mean that it works on all devices with the CPU architecture that it was built for and the process of installing the GSI is not necessarily the same for all devices.

Hello, there's only subjectively best and that's different for everyone. Everyone has different usage patterns & preferences, so when asking for the best, you get the best for them, not the best for you. The only way you'll find the best one for you is by trying them yourself.
All GSI Treble ROMs compatible with P20 are AOSP based on 'phhusson' sources, so the difference in performance, battery life, etc. is minimal.
Stock comes with lots of premium features which are not available in Custom ROM, and there is no way to replicate it in Custom ROM (for example, if you like to take pictures, you will be disappointed with the GSI camera...).
If you don’t prefer EMUI, choose Havoc OS , AOSP Extended or LineageOS.
If you "hate" Google and Google's bloatware only, you can simply rebrand your phone to chinese Nova 3e (among other things, better battery life, lower data consumption etc.).
Or, choose Custom ROM based on Stock with KangVip settings ( to get away from GAPPS) , stable enough to be used as your daily driver.
In my experience CAOS is faster, crDRom is customization monster, LiR is a perfect balance between battery efficiency, performance and the customization.
Unfortunately, availability of custom ROMs for Kirin devices is scarce.
