Hi!
I received my Redmi note 10 three days back. I have been facing issues with my voice quality during Whatsapp video calls ever since.
It is as if the phone tries to reduce the noise of the background and in the process, muffles my voice and the person on the other end can't hear me properly.
Is this a common issue or am I the only one having this?
Have you tried whats app cleared from the recent app list and then relaunch it. some times it causes too. or may be network issue.

I have recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaTab A2109-F which I was quite happy with, since this was the first time I have used an android tablet as I am coming from iOS background. Before I bought the tablet, I read that id had double microphone in order to make voice calls such as Skype clearer. Now , at first it seemed all good and I had people saying that the audio being received is clear and crisp on the other end of the call.
However after 2-3 mins in a call (every call) the microphone then goes really weird and audio being received from it becomes mumbled until it completely degrades where it seems like just random noises, sometimes it even goes all quiet. What I have noticed however , if I blow into the microphone it then goes all good again.
At first I thought it was a Skype app issue and so I downloaded a microphone voice recorder (memo recording sort of app) and same observations were made where voice being recorded completely degrades within 3 minutes of the recording, where blowing into the microphone temporary fixes the problem until it happens again after a minute or so.
Now I am lost here , I really like the tablet and I really doubt it's a hardware issue for some reason. I have a suspicion that something is either upping/lowering the sensitivity of the microphone and where blowing into the microphone seems to then readjust it.
I really hope somebody could help me out, maybe there is an app that allows to change microphone settings , or maybe something else that I could try out.
Thanks for your time! :good:
P.S Android Version: 4.1.1 and latest Skype app. I also tried upgrading the firmware, same problem was observed.
I still have the same issue on my Lenovo A2109. Skype, Line or any internet call, voice degrades within 8 - 10 mts and I had to end the call and re-do the call again. VERY ANNOYING... I thought it was just my tablet. I didn't try the trick of blowing into the microphone. Thanks for the tip. Did you get a solution yet? I thought upgrading would help. But thanks for confirming.

Hello guys,
not sure if this is happening to everyone, on my Galaxy Ace 4, OS version 4.4.2, Whatsapp seems to record audio TOO DISTORTED, my voice gets recorded to badly that people doesn't even hear what i'm speaking about... (Comes out VERY loud), also this problem happens on whatsapp call.
When I restart the phone, Whatsapp voice works well for a couple of minutes, then the problem returns as mentioned.
I tried to uninstall/reinstall the app and clear the cache, but it doesn't fix the problem.
I dont think it is a hardware problem because other voice apps record normally.
If someone has this bug or knows how to fix it would be awesome.
thank you
hi there, i,m experiencing peculiar type of problem in my redmi 3 pro. while making a viber call, the other end always complain about low sound, even they have full ear piece vplume on their's. But, its fine with other apps link messenger and imo. Its fine with regular gsm call as well. Is that due to low mic gain for internet calls? if it was the case, then messenger and imo should also have the same problem. i'm just confused.
Same issue on different ROMs. Only viber has this problem (actually Viber on PC at other side) I had no such things on my old HTC device. Does anybody know something what is going on?
Hi there people.
I've got the following issue. If anyone has this issue or has fixed it let me know.
Calls seem to be interfering with my mic. Sometimes my voice doesn't go to the other end even though normal call or whatsapp call. They might hear 1 word then nothing from me for a few seconds then a word or two and it sometimes sounds like a clicking noise.
I've called my self too and I can't hear anything on my RM7 but whoever I call can hear the clicking noise and sometimes nothing from me.
Sometimes I can't hear the other person too. It cuts out.
Same with normal calls and whatsapp calls.
Continuing my testing, I can send voice notes without issue and receive them and play it via rhe earpiece without issue too. Even voice recording and video recording the microphone does a good job only in calls it bugs out.
Continuing my testing
Works fine with headphones connected. But mic and earpiece work fine when used by voice notes and video ect
I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but I have the same issue. It started around last week.
I cleaned my speakers and mic thinking I got dirt build up. But it's still the same.
It seems like a software issue. Looking at the patch notes in latest OS update (NX679J_UNcommon_V3.16) for me, they have listed "Repair: possible issues with calls in some scenarios". I don't know when they released the update and when I applied it to my phone but that could be the reason for this issue too.
After reading your post I tried regular calls with headphones, speakers and video call with Google meet. They all work fine.
For call on speaker, as soon as you turn the speaker off it starts acting up again.
Hopefully they will fix this issue soon.
From my testing it seems like its an app or something interfeering with the calls. I started the phone up in safe mode (no 3rd party apps only stock ones) and the issue was gone, so the issue is a app related issue, thinking its a virus I just reset the phone to factory and all is good now. I didnt find what was causing it.
Thanks for an update.
I will play around a bit and if it doesn't work out then will do the same.
Every couple of minutes I am getting a loud pop/crack sound during normal calls and the same behaviour on Whatsapp and Viber calls.
I tried both on speaker and without and the result is the same. I am running all the latest updates. The adaptive sound is disabled.
Also tried Stealth Audio Player to hear both the external and internal speaker on Youtube videos and I can't reproduce it except sometimes it pops when a video is started. I also tried recording my mic and it sounds clear without this popping.
Is there anything else I can try to fix or debug this issue? It sounds like it is trying to record or adapt the sound while on call even if the adaptive is off.

This kinda sounds like the problem I had, but ALLLLL the way back to my Pixel 2 XL!
If you're rooted, you can try what worked for me below -- although, I'm not up to date with Viper4Android (V4A) and I believe it's either EOL or is in the process of being updated to work in x64 architecture or there are newer updated branches or something... But if it's possible to lower the frequencies, you might luck out like I did on the taimen...
I Found a Speaker Distortion Fix
Like many, my phone has the lower speaker distortion on speaker phone calls and general audio, like YouTube, when turned up high. If you are rooted, I have found a solution to all situations except speaker phone calls. I installed Viper4android...

Thanks for the help. I can hardly hear any issues while on youtube. There is noticeable pop when videos ending or starting. Some people are reporting motherboard issues with Pixel 7 leading to similar problems. I am trying to find if it is a hardware or software issue.
After further investigation it looks like interference. If I disable the mobile data and WIFI it seems to be a lot better. After 16 minutes call it was a very faint pop if at all. Does it sound like it needs a motherboard replacement or a future patch might fix it. Update: still happening regardless of connectivity on both the inner and outer speaker. I am going to RMA for motherboard replacement.
