I've tried two different apps, the second being 'Voodoo OTA Root Keeper' as I would like to be able to unroot my SGS3 running Omega v9 as I can run the new Barclays Banking app.
Even thought root appears to stop working, TB wont work for example, the Barcalys app still detects root?
Any ideas?
Hi all,
I've rooted my SGS3 via ODIN with CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3. Everything went good and I had root in seconds. One thing I've noticed that this method is installing SuperSU app instead of SuperUser (which I was using on Motorola Defy). It didn't make any difference for me, however after some time I discovered that not all applications works with SuperSU. For instance xMissedCallPatch for exDialer don't even ask for admin permissions. Permission access window from SuperSU just don't POP UP so I can't give that app a root permissions. There was some more examples but can't remeber which one. TitaniumBackup and few other works good.
And here comes the problem:
I wanted to change from SuperSU to SuperUser, so I've installed SuperUser from market, however that does not make him as default app to handle root requests. So... I went to SuperSU settings and clicked "Switch Superuser application". That deleted SuperSU as default app to handle root, but again it didn't make SuperUser as default also. So, none of SuperSU or SuperUser were default apps to handle root
So, trying to make this out, I've uninstalled SuperUser and made ODIN again with CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3. All procedure went as expected but SuperSU still isn't default app to handle root. Now when I'm launching TitaniumBackup (for instance) it just says that it can't work because it has no root rights. As previously no Permission access window from SuperSU.
Do you have any ideas?
OK, my fault.
I've accidentaly used CF-Root-SGS3-v6.3 instead of v6.4. After ODIN with v6.4 everything works great. Even apps which hadn't popups from SuperSU previously now work. For example xMissedCallPath for exDialer now works somehow.
Sorry to bother you all, topic to close.
I have an application (required for work) which will not run on any rooted ROM. In order to remove bloatware (on ICS) I rooted the ROM, deleted bloatware and then unrooted
Im now looking at installing Kit-Kat. However, there are no original ROMs of Kit-Kat for ST15i (unlike ICS). The application not only checks for SU, BUsy box etc but also checks to see if the system is using a non original ROM
Is there anyway of changing signature of the ROM so that it is not detected as an AOSP version? I will also need to completely unroot the ROM for the application to work
P.S. I have already tried Rootcloak plus etc - no good. The ROM MUST be unrooted for the application to work. The app checks for following
SU, Superuser, AOSP ROM, Busybox and various other binaries associated with rooted roms, build.prop
there is xposed module to "hide" root for apps

Hi
Yes - tried that - it doesn't work for this app
I remember how i rooted my phone a month ago to install 4K 60 FPS and it worked. But somehow now the root checker says my phone is not rooted, so i rooted my phone with many Magisk's, twrp and DisableForceEncryption_Treble files and followed many youtube videos that aren't that old, but the phone always says the phone is not rooted. Btw. i was on the MIUI 10.2.2.0 when i rooted my device and i'm still on this version. And i'm sorry when this question was many times asked, but i didn't found anything helpful. And i'm sorry when there is something wrong with my english.
Open magisk manager then open root checker
Add magisk manager to auto-start and remove battery optimizations
It is still saying my phone is not rooted.
Your phone is rooted, man. You probably denied root access for root checker which is why it shows your phone doesn't have root access. An app wouldn't know whether or not your phone has root access unless you allow it.
Tap the 3 dash button on the top left corner in Magisk Manager, then go to Superuser. Check if you've disabled root access for the root checker app.
Root checker has superuser permissions.
You're rooted, i feel some apps didn't work propperly after become super user, and feel like was unrooted, some apps like edpjoyand, usbjoystickcenter, and some others was not working like they supposed to work, then manage to force the selinux to permissive and now everything it's working perfectly
K, but i can't use BuildProp Editor cause it is saying that my device is not rooted.
You tried clearing cache after installing magisk, if not give that a try. Something similar has happened to me last year, after installing magisk in twrp clearing cache/dalvik cache solved it for me

Thank you, but it didn't worked for me
What does it say in magisk manager? Does it show that magisk is installed? Post a screenshot

I had previously installed magisk and uninstalled it and unroot.
it shows root removal and when tested by root checker, it shows not rooted .
But, I am unable to play certain games like PUBG New state that shows black screen and show as if root is still intact in system.
Can anyone suggest about this
