Hello Everyone,
I am having a strange problem on my Xperia Z2. My previous phone was a Nexus 5 and all of my Google Play apps and services worked fine.
When I switched to the Z2, all my apps were synced successfully however my Google Play Books app keeps getting disabled every time I restart my phone. I have to manually enable it from the play store in order to use it. My book purchases and uploaded books are all there.
Also, I used to get surveys from Google opinion rewards at least twice every 3 weeks however I am no longer getting any surveys since I switched to the Xperia Z2.
I followed the normal troubleshooting process:
Wipe cache / data from google apps and service + framework, removed account and re-added etc.
Any help / suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Play with some more ideas and if all fail to work
I suggest rooting and removing the app from the device totaly then reinstalling as a standard user app
If all failsRepair your device via sony pc companion as there is no known soultion to me yet

before repairing by PCC you have one more solution
Uninstall Update of those google apps > restart & then update them and then check if problem remains.
(update of google play service, book & etc)

Thanks everyone, unfortunately none of the above worked
I just factory reset my device as a last resort but the problem still persists.
Google Play Support have not provided any feedback yet

This particular issue is driving me mad.
Issue :
1) Google Play, Google Wallet, Google Hangouts, Account Sync shows connection Error.
"check your connection and try again", "no Connection", "there was a problem communicating with google servers"
2) No matter which ROM I use, Stock or Custom, Play Store, Wallet, ETC does not work.
3) I can watch youtube videos, surf the web etc, but ALL THINGS RELATED TO GOOGLE is not working. Only Gmail works.
What I've tried :
Issue :

3) Re-Installs - 60+ times Both Clean and dirty
4) Tried 5 Different ROMs(Including Stock)
5) Tried 3 Different GAPPS package
6) Tried Updating
7) Tried Clearing App Data&cache
8) Tried Using VPN
9) Tried Syncing Time/Date
10) tried default reset
11) went to an LG technician for a full system reset and hardware check
12) Tried Editing AND deleting hosts file.
PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS!!!!!!
I'm living in korea and I'm using the US version of Optimus G LS970(Just moved a month ago). - Might this be a problem? Different Country?
My Optimus G LS970 doesn't have 3G/4G Data Connection. I am using Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 5 ROM.
WiFi is functioning PERFECTLY.
I contacted Google Support but they failed to diagnose and Fix the issue. They claimed that my device seems to be refusing factory resets(don't know what that means;; How does a phone refuse factory resets?) And I was turned over to a specialist team. It's been quite long since I submitted the issue and the google specialist team hasn't managed to fix it.
Tried Sprint support too but to no avail.
I'm desperate and looking for helpful answers within the XDA community.

Hello all,
I'm having a very weird problem with Google App since yesterday: suddenly, the upper Google bar is covered by Google Now cards, and it looks like this:

The weird thing is that "OK Google" command also doesn't work outside the application itself (inside it, it works just fine).
I really tried everything: reboot, reinstalling Google App in Safe Mode, clear application data, and so on - nothing helps.
My phone model is OnePlus One, running Cyanogen OS (12.1 - YOG4PAS1N0) based on Android 5.1.1.

Hi. has given me a familiar one redmi note 2 which gets too hot on the upper back, and works very slow opening apps and in any action. I installed a global rom fastboot and it works just as slow. I've passed Antutu and it gives me 54,000 points, which makes me doubt if it's a software or hardware problem. What do you think about it?

I flash so many roms and the slowliness happend only after gapps install o trying to run google apps.
Today i have the same problem. Its propably bug from google play because i cant open it.
It's google play services bug, find way to reset data of it and get it back to old version, install latest google play store from apk, add your google account back(should be all gone after resting services data) and after google services updates it should be fine. That's more or less how i did it.
Edit: For friend that's also using this old guy it fixed itself after letting phone stay and sync for about 20 minutes.

It happened by itself. Patience is needed and external cooler is an option to reduce the heat.

Thanks for answering. I have the last global rom. It does not let me uninstall play store. How can I uninstall it? And what version should I install and where do I download it from?
Same problem here. After factory reset there is no problem but after I update Google Play Services problems are back. Endless sync, not working Google Play store (stays blank and not showing any apps), Chrome not loading pages, huge battery drain on google play services. Nothing helps for me. Did you guys managed to get normal working phone?
This problem seems to affect only mobile phones with mediatek processor and not just xiaomi, also to other brands.
I have left the phone whole night syncing. Did not help at all...

Go to Installed apps find Google Play Store and Uninstall updates, then let it sync. It should work that way.
Someone actually found a solution to this issue:
1. Go to Phone Settings
2. Next Accounts
3. Choose Google
4. Then click Manage your Google Account
5. There will be a white screen - here at this step we just wait until the screen comes to life (about 5-10 minutes)
6. Enjoy!

Yes this works, big thanks!!! But on the new update of Google play services from yesterday I got the same bug. So we will need to do this every time when there is update for Google play services

Thought you may have an idea about the following:
Google automatically disables the Google News app in a few countries (Spain, Denmark). The app can be re-enabled on the play store but always ends up disabling itself after a while.
I have tried many things on my rooted Oneplus 6 w/Magisk:
- made Google News a system app
- tried a workaround for Google Feed as per this XDA Article
- changed my Google and Play Store countries
- locked the app in the multitasker
......
= No dice, Google keeps disabling itself after a while. Weirdly enough, my Google News app works fine on my Essential Phone or Xiaomi Mi Pad 4.
Would anyone haven any idea for a workaround? I was thinking maybe disabling Google News apk signature?
