VS985 (software VS9854AA to start): This Guide is not going to be compiled in the way you are used to. It is more of a sectional index (chronological as opposed to alphabetical). This guide is essentially requesting that you follow the links as the links will take you to the guide. I had to write this because this phone has gone through so many iterations and new people with an LG G3 may not want to have 10000 tabs open.

Guide to Roll Firmware Back to a Rootable Firmware from 6.0 to 4.4
- Place phone into download mode and roll back from 4AA to 35B using LG flash tool 2014 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190)
o Be sure to place the extracted KDZ file into the folder in which the flash tool was extracted
- Re-enable developer Options after initialization.
- Install LG Flash Tool 2016
o You can delete the 2014 flash tool from your desktop now if you wish.
- Roll back to 10B using LG Flash 2016 Patched (Reference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/warning-takethe-vs98535b-5-1-1-ota-t3220693)
o Obtain DLL File https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63266194&postcount=84
o Extract the DLL file, then place it in the installed LG flash tool folder
o Extract the 10B TOT file and place it in the same folder
o Follow install guide
- Go to Settings -> System Updates -> Check for System Updates Start system update (OTA)
o Phone can be rooted at 10B, but ROM support requires 23c on Lollipop. Please Increment slowly until software 23c.
- Run the one click root guide by LG (Reference: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951)
o Download and install drivers
o Run the program
Next I will provide TWRP install and ROM (using lineage), but I am not there yet, I have some questions first.
1. Do I need to unlock the boot loader before installing TWRP?
2. Do I use latest TWRP or everyones favorite (2.8?)
3. Now that it is rooted, and after I add TWRP, do I re-increment the phones firmware? (Assuming I go lineage 14.1)
4. What software do I need the phone at to install 35b bootstack? - 35B bootstack https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/development/xdabbeb-s-vs980-2-0-0-t3231279
5. What is the purpose of this bootstack and is it needed to run lineage 14.1
Hi!
Today I downloaded a firmware(DL09C100B018CUSTC100D001) for my tablet. It is in UPDATE.APP format, not writable images.
How can I install/flash the UPDATE.APP file (the firmware) with my PC? Which software can I use?
For my Alcatel tablet, I use SP Flash Tool, but I did not find such software for Huawei tablets that use UPDATE.APP format.
I found one way, and that is to extract the images in the UPDATE.APP file using https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/tool-python-2-3-splituapp-update-app-t3711929. Then use fastboot to flash them. I haven't tested this method yet because I haven't unlocked the bootloader yet.
Is there another option, or is this the only one?
Thanks!

Hello,
I found that it is possibility to Install new system on a phone. I did research about this but I don't really know how I don't understand everything.
When I was searching for my phone model there were some inaccuracies.
For example: I couldn't find the proper version. I have found "firmwares" that differs by one letter and I don't know I can download it or better no :/
My Phone Specifications are:
HUAWEI Y7 Prime 2018
Model: LDN-L21
LDN-L21 8.0.0.147(C432)
EMUI Version: 8.0.0
Android System Version: 8.0.0
Custom Version: CUSTC432D1
I found a site where I can download Firmwares.
My question is: Can I download for example this version and install it?
LDN-L21 London-L21A 8.0.0.150(C432CUSTC432D1)
or I must find version that exactly match my phone specifications? And what the word "London" means here?
Could somebody tell me step by step what should I do to Install new system on my phone?
Hello.
There are 1 letter difference in model - L21A and L21B. I guess there are no really HW or SW differences, but I stayed at L21B stock rom.
London is commercial codename for that type/serie of phone. LDN-L01 to L29 are similar Huawei and Honor phones with various names (Y7 2018/ Nova 2 lite / Honor 7A/7C etc). Other line/serie has other city name.
Latest stock rom for LDN-L21B is 8.0.0.151, for now.
If your phone is not rooted, still bootloader locked, with stock recovery: use System update from Settings or boot to eRecovery, connect to WiFi and let phone download latest rom and install it automatically.

I guess that you can use some of recovery modes: stock recovery, TWRP recovery or fastboot flash. Inside every ZIP is UPDATE.app. Every *.app can be unpacked with Huawei_Update_Extractor_v0.9.9.5. Eccential partitions for flash are ramdisk, kernel, product, system, vendor, version, cust. Extracted IMGs are still packed as SPARE img, so you have to unpack them with SIMG2IMG (simg2img system.img sys.img).
Now images can be flashed with custom *TWRP* recovery or fastboot (fastboot flash system system.img).

HI thank you for your reply, can u give me ldn-l21b 8.0.0.151 because I have c432
where can i find wear os for urban lg watch to flash through recovery?
I am referring to the system.img file and the boot.img
I came across this post: https://highonandroid.com/android-r...oject-treble-unlocked-bootloader-twrp-method/
and it made me look into the LG G8 and GSI capabilities and LG does run its software on top of Google GSI. To verify your phone if doubtful download this app and it will show some info: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kevintresuelo.treble&hl=en_US
Here is a post containing a backup of TWRP and sprint files: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/lg-g8-twrp-and-backup-for-sprint.4247225/
I tried a TWRP 3.3.1.0 from another post and it did not work properly, I think because I have a Lineage 18.1 that was for the G8s installed and so its not installing properly, but I was able to install magisk manager and patch my boot files and root.
I tried various ways and messing up system files and so I am going to reinstall the sprint files and see what I come up with. The point is this may be a working LineageOS for the G8 thinq if anyone has TWRP installed and can install an img.xz from there. the download page shows different versions and explains that the file with bv2 is for phones with a and b slots.
Andy Yan's personal builds // GSI - Browse Files at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net
If anyone successfully installs it please post.I didnt read carefully enough and extract the img.xz that I think becomes a system img that you can flash to the system.img with fastboot.
I'm going to try some more after I get out of this fastboot loop I am in and see if I can get it going.
