Does anyone have any issues with hotspot.
My laptops connect but there is no internet message
I did the following
Reset network settings
Wiped cache
Recreated apn (cannot add dun but my sons phone doesnt show dun and tethering is working)
Any help appreciated

i wanted to give this rom a try, and i am very happy with it, except for one thing. Wifi tethering. Tethering and portable hotspot turns on but wont work, i guess thats why theres a wifi tether app. Thing is, when i go into the settings and encrypt my network, input the password, start the wifi tether, it starts with errors.
Error is: network is not encrypted and open to all...
App: Wifi tether
settings: Enable wifi encryption
encryption setup method: wpa_supplicant (tried auto as well but no go)
passphrase: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
SSID: xxxxxxx
Is there a way to encrypt or should i just flash another rom?

Happened to me a strange problem after I install (dtaapp2sd-2.7.5.3-beta0) Wi-Fi connection is lost By this I mean that the Wi-Fi is connected but I can not Access to the Internet Please note that the use of this rom CyanogenMod-7.1.0 .
Is there a solution to this problem?

Have you check to see if data is enabled or tested connection with another wifi hotspot? Try a different a2sd script or a stable DT script...if nothing works attempt reflashing rom after wipe and trail and error everything

I have the same problem. Do this script doesn't compatible with wifi on CM?...
Hello: I`ve flashed both ROMs, with Safestrap3. They works fine in many features, including WiFi connection. But I can`t activate the data connection, (selecting the data icons) And...it's working very well when I boot the StockRom!
Please, help!!!!

Check if your APN are configured correctly
I am micromax unite2 user and I have recently flashed miui7 ROM. It all went well except that now my apps(system &installed both) won't connect to internet on wifi but my browsers work fine. My phones date/time is set perfectly and I have wiped the cache partition as well in recovery. I have factory reset my phone. I have some doubt about the IP address shown in WiFi settings as it doesn't match with my router's configuration and changing it causes the browser's internet to stop as well. Please help!!

I still want to use my old Thor HDX7, but the Wifi is broken (MAC: 02.00.00.00.00)
I can use Internet via bluetooth (tethtering), but not via Wifi.
Problem is that during initial start up, tethering is not available, so I cannot find a way to set up the device and enter my google credentials.
I suppose the problem is, that I cannot enter Google Account after factory reset (as I cannot establish wifi conection)
During initial setup I cannot estabish internet connection, as I cannot choose Bluetooth tethering connection.
Does anyone have any idea how to use Gapps in this situation?
