[Q] unlocking sprint note 3 with msl code

I am trying to swich my sprint note 3 to straight talk.
I spoke with sprint and they told me they could not unlock international sim because it is done online and the phone i bought is not currently active. they also said i could unlock the phone with a master subsidy lock code. i acquired the code but i have no method in which to use it.
is there a number i can punch in with this code to unlock the sim from saying invalid sim?

Want to test if the 'unlocked' ATT phone is 'unlocked' where can I get a TMobile SIM

I assume activated. Just a test sim to see if a foreign carrier works with this

Weird Carrier Lock (?) or non-compatibility by AT&T for the LG V35??

Got a secondhand mint condition V35 off Ebay. It was listed as "for AT&T only and I cannot unlock." Submitted an unlock request to AT&T and got approved. If I insert a non-AT&T sim (I've tried a deactivated Verizon and an active US Cellular) I get no prompt for unlock code at all.
Checking the device itself via 2945#*350# (which brings up the SIM Unlock Process menu), all five options (Network Lock, Service Provider Lock, NetworkSubset lock, Corporate lock, SIM/USIM lock) show "Your phone is not personalized." Which in all previous cases to my knowledge, means the phone is already unlocked.
The problem? The US Cellular SIM is active, but I get the "Emergency Calls Only" result when I attempt to use it. Granted US Cellular is CDMA, but any 4G/LTE bands require a SIM regardless of carrier. So I expected it to work. I'm puzzled and am wondering if someone can tell me what I'm overlooking?

Question Carrier phones?

Will it be possible to root an AT&t variant? The OEM unlocking is grayed out so that it cannot be switched, but I've seen instances in the past such as the Verizon model I had a few years ago but still possible to achieve root.
You need to have the service provider SIM card unlock the phone first. If you are on an installment/monthly payment plan it can be harder to convince the provider to unlock the phone, but it is possible. Once the phone is SIM card unlocked, the OEM Unlocking option will be available in settings.
Of course this is on a non-Verizon version. Usually the Verizon versions will have the OEM Unlocking option greyed out even if the phone is SIM card unlocked. (But there have been models that Verizon didn't OEM lock, so we really won't know for sure until we hear from some Verizon customers).

call their customer support, ask if the bootloader can be unlock once you paid off the phone, if thats the case I think you can root.
