Does anyone know of a (non-rooted) way to transfer all saved Wifi networks and passwords from my old phone(Huawei Honor 6X) to the Samsung A52 ? i have used Smartswitch to succesfully transfer virtually everything else but it did not include stored Wifi details.
Cheers.

Hey,
A friend of mine wants to lock the data connection of his 11 years old daughter's phone. So i thought, this would be easy, change the DNS as root to localhost or something like that. I read that it is possible to do so with the Wifi connection, but not permanent with the mobile data. This would just work for the current session, after a phone reboot, the normal mobile data DNS is back.
So my question is, what could i do, to lock every data connection? Is it possible?
Thanks for the answers!
why not just remove all apns and saved wi-fi networks? then there would be no mobile networks or wi-fi networks to connect to.
also, why does an 11 year old girl have an s2? if one isn't able to check on what their child is doing on the internet, and/or won't let them on the internet at all, might the s2 not be a little much?
This girl is not stupid, she knows how to connect to a Wifi network. Also it's thus a metter of time, till she knows to add the correct apn, or a friend of her does it.
I need a solution to realy change someting, that data is no longer possible. So she, or someone who knows a little bit about smartphones cannot enable it.
well that certainly is respectable, she knows how to crack wpa2 wi-fi keys?
then your dns trick, even if it were stored permanently, would be no use either.
i don't know, what country you are from, but at least here, every carrier offers the possibility to disable mobile data connections for your sim card. that way, no matter what you try to set up, the carrier would not accept you into their mobile network.
Could you delete APNs and wifi keys, then lock the settings app so the 11 year old cannot access it to edit the connection settings?
ZDBox is freeware and contains a reliable app locking tool.
Hi 4 all!
Today I've got my Gear S. After I inserted the SIM card in to it, I've tried to set-up the internet connection, but when I jump in to the Access point names, I can't add a new one. The menu is empty and I can' set-up anything. The mobile internet provider doesn't care about my problem, because they say they do not use Tizen OS and therefore don't offer any suggestions or help.
Please anyone can help me?

Have you updated your watch to the latest firmware/software also update the Gear manager to the latest
@Uniquebarbee: Tks for your interest about my problem! Finally I did it... I made the update for the OS and now I can add a new APN. Off course, the update doesn't resolve all my issues with the watch, but is good to know that I didn't throw away 400 Euro.
My real problem now, is that I don't have a device compatible with the watch (I did the update with a borrowed S5) to make all the tuning that is necessary... in fact I've got a Samsung galaxy note 10.1(2012) tablet and I was hoping to synchronize, but unfortunately it can not install the manager.
I can't understand why a lot of setting require a bluetooth connection, instead to use the wi-fi connection or better, the 3G on the SIM. The watch is not as independent as I thought and now I have to dig on internet to find how can I use it on full capacity.
Hi guys, I had the Galaxy S4, Note 4 and now that my Note 4 was stolen, I am using a budget Galaxy Core Prime while waiting for the S7. All three models have something in common - they forget most wifi passwords. I had to re-enter passwords on all three models on my home wifi (3 different modems and adresses over time so it´s not about the modem or place or router), work wifi networks etc. etc. - just about everywhere. Then I travel and the phone remembers a wifi password in a location I haven´t been to in a year.
This was an issue even after I did factory resets. I have also changed my network provider and SIM so that shouldn´t be the issue. I only use stock firmware that is up to date.
I couldn´t find any information about this anywhere. Can anyone help? Thank you
hi,
i have a samsung galaxy camera and win 10 laptop.
i would like to know how do i connect the win 10 laptop to wifi with the wifi data that i have stored in my android device.
thanks
Connect both devices to the same wifi and your win 10 laptop should detect the camera in network menu.
idk what you want to achieve doing that. Transfer photos? the camera has inbuilt sharing functionality like mail or just use a data cable.
Since you didn't specify any specific way you want to do this, here is what I would've done:
1. USB Tethering:
Using a usb cable, you can share your device's internet connection with the computer.
2. Wifi hotspot
You can share the internet of either wifi or mobile data using your device as a wifi hotspot.
3. Copying password from device
You never stated if you had root or not, so I assume you do. So just download a wifi password recovery app from play store, open it and copy the password from there.
If you need help on how to do the hotspot or tethering option, google is your friend

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the number of "saved networks" Android Oreo and Google backup can handle? I've got over 400 at this point on my Sony XZ1 (yeah, that's a lot of travel miles ). When I recently moved devices these didn't get restored by Google on the new phone. The Sony Xperia Transfer software, which is usually pretty good for moving to new devices, won't even back them up, just says "No Data Found" for WiFi networks when setting up the transfer. I'm thinking it has something to do with the number of networks I have.
I managed to use g Cloud Backup eventually to move them and that worked OK, but that appears to have just moved the SSID entries and not the saved passwords. Maybe they do if one is rooted, but on that device I'm not. (and if I was rooted, my understanding is I might be able to just move a protected file anyway)
Anyone have any experience with lots of networks? I could have sworn I read a few years ago that Android itself had a cap on the number of networks it could handle. Thanks in advance.
