I tried lowering my resolution but the functioning screen just shrunk and won't fill all of the screen, how can I fill all of the screen?

I bought a MK802 for a Car PC project that I am doing. I use to have a Windows based Car PC, so I already have six 7inch VGA w/ touchscreens installed. I bought the MK802 specifically for salvaging the screens and because of Androids mobile diversity.
Issue 1: The touch panel is USB based. I plug it in and a mouse pointer pops up on the screen. I am able to move to the left and right correctly. But up and down are inverted, so when I push on the top of the screen, the pointer is at the bottom and when I push at the bottom, it appears on the top. Is there a config file I can edit? maybe switch the commands for up and down?
Issue 2: The MK802 are built for high definition displays with high resolutions. I used a HDMI to VGA converter to convert it to the port I need. Issue is that the screen can only work at a resolution of 800 × 480 (1,152,000) pixels w/ display format: 4:3(800*600 default), 16:9 is optional. When I plug the two together, the screen turns to a red color. Thats with MK802 on 720p. Now if I change it to 480p, I can see the screen, but its not sitting correctly. Is there a file to adjust the resolution to a lower one that will make the screen happy?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think this can be done in screen. I remember seeing that in its option menu. I will test today and see if it works. Also, I noticed that I cant adjust the the format on the MK802. I had screwed something up and flashed the ROM to their supposed latest ROM. It adds a ton of features that seemed to be missing before, but has taken away other features like resolution adjustment.
How did this ever turn out. im looking into to doing something very similar. what do you use for sound processing. any help would be awesome.
Hi,
I have the following problem with my Xperia Neo (hallon):
My touch screen crashed some time ago, so I bought a new one and replaced it. Since then the touch screen works in most parts of the screen just fine. Only in the range around the navigation bar the touch screen does not work. I tracked my finger with the "pointer location" option so I can see that touches are recognized from 0x0 to 478x731 pixels. Beyond that "731 pixel line" the touch screen does not work, so the lower part of my screen does not react because its resolution is 480 x 854 pixels.
My assumption is that the touch screen resolution is too low for the new touch screen so I tried to increase it. I created a "/system/usr/idc/Vendor_0000_Product_0000.idc" file and set it according to the input device configuration guidelines and added a "build.scr" to my sdcard folder but nothing changed.
Any idea what my mistake is?
Regards
So I tried to update my android's headunit firmware to JY-1.90 and now my screen is cut-off on the right and bottom side. My headunit's screen resolution was 800x480 and now it is 1024x600. Tried to change my resolution with a program (i have root access) but after changing the resolution the screen is still cutoff. As you can see in the video the touch is spot on like it should be but the display isnt.
Will try to post a video. What can I do to fix it?
I have tried to lower my resolution to 720p with adb command , but the notch messes up the whole thing and you get black bars around the edges and a big notch like black bar on mid top of the screen , i wonder if there is an exact dpi and resolution for it to fit perfectly.
The best I got was a size of 967x2011 with density of 387. That's still a 19.8% reduction in in number of pixels displayed so I'll try it out. Sill leaves a small sliver of the status bar below the notch visible. Not ideal. I have been looking for a way to reduce status bar height with very little luck.
PS I know this is an old post but hey...
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, srahman! Did you have any recent luck? I found this from Saki-EU but I do not know how does it work properly:

Maybe, if you have time, could you check this out?
I want to set the resolution to 1920*1080, everything works, but when changing the resolution, the corners of the interface remain rounded. Also, a stripe appears from below, below the gesture stripe. Can you tell me what system settings to change so that the angles are straight? Pixel Expirience Android 12. Magisk is installed.
The phone has a 2400 x 1080 pixel screen format. If you enter 1920 x 1080, you won't fill the entire screen and you'll get an unused border bar.
you need to modify the system
