Hi all. So I'm trying to get my watch out of demo mode and download new firmware via Odin3. I put the watch into download mode and it connects to the laptop with an IP address but Odin does not see the IP address. I've downloaded all necessary files, installed Samsung USB drivers for Windows
Is there something I'm missing. I've searched everywhere I've found tutorials for issues with USB connected devices buy nothing for devices connected through WIFI
Thanks for any help

Try using a USB cable, idk how the watch connects so try that.
Odin usually only connects with usb cable

The link you provided is for a wireless connection to Odin since the only way to plug into USB port would be to remove the back of the watch and attach a cable by soldering to the MB of the watch itself, the watch connects like a hot-spot through IP address
Im not sure odin works wirelessly...
The wireless is for debugging but odin dosent connect wirelessly...
Pretty sure you need to connect the charging station to the PC via USB, as opposed to the watch. In the article you linked it shows that it has a COM connection, which is almost certainly a local USB port. COM can be used over TCP/IP but it's not a usual thing. You should have gotten a USB cable with the docking station surely?
So last night was success, I did manage to flash the watch with new firmware wirelessly. It is not longer a demo watch, I'm so very pleased since it unlocks the phone full capabilities, launching Odin3 as administrator allowed it to pick up the IP of the phone, took a little over 9 minutes to accomplish.
Thanks for all the responses to my query

I flashed a custom rom a couple of months back. That rom was android version 2.3.5.
Now when I try and connect my phone to my pc using the standard usb cable, it only charges but no connection.
I did some reading before I posted and found several methods to try out
1.Use kies, download drivers
2.Enable USB Debugging mode
3.Go to settings-wireless and network-usb utilities and connect it through there.
None of the methods mentioned above worked.
So my questions to you guys are
1. Does this problem have to do with the custom rom?
2. Can I degrade to the stock rom without the use of an USB cable?
2b Can I update to another custom rom (because the phone charges when it is connected to the pc, even though I cant see it on "my computer", it should still be considered as connected?) ?
3. Which is the best custom rom out right now (Speed and performance wise)
*Side note - I know people prefer different custom roms based on their taste, but I really want to think what you guys think about which one I should upgrade to!!! I also might want to overclock to 1.6 and root the phone in the coming week if I can solve my usb problem!

Yes I have but it wasn't what I was looking for. My phone randomly gets usb connected and starts charging without the cable being connected???
I went to the retail store I bought it from and he said you should degrade your firmware and see if the problem goes away, if it doesnt we send it in for repair.
But how can I do that if my usb only charges when I connect to the pc?
There is a Mobile Odin apk. Perhaps you could install that then flash stock firmware with it. You would have to get the .tar onto your phone though.
Unfortunately, if I´m not wrong your trobule seems to be a hardward issue.
My cell phone began a couple of weeks ago with the same problem, and it became even rather serious. Some days ago it didn´t charged if I connected the charger when it was on. I should switch it off and then connect the charger, having done this, the cell rebooted by itsefl and then began charging.
But, just seeking and testing I bought a "charger block replacement" in ebay and replaced it by myself. It is not complex to do it on your own... today I am happyy.. cause I fixed it..
If your problem continue.. I hope you will remember my words!
My galaxy tab 10.1 is on 3.2 honeycomb official. Its not rooted and its 3g version
My tab would not connect, i have searched for many forms, i could not find the solutions.I have done factory reset twice and have reinstalled kies twice also. My problem still persist. When i connect my tab to my laptop which is running on Windows 7. Three thing happens
1. Some time it will show mtp initializing and then it shows usb connected (mtp connected). No where is galaxy folder on my computer is found. When i go to devices and printer. No galaxy tab icon is shown.
2.Some times, galaxy tab charges only, there is no mtp instializing like 1 scenario etc
3. Nothing will happens. No mtp instializing or no charging
Lastly i have tried on my destop computer and another laptop but the problem still persist
Help would be appreciated.
I would backup my files and factory reset the tab. Should help.
i have done factory reset twice
Make sure debugging is unchecked.. What version of windows are you running?
I find that my tablet will not recognize on XP or Window 7 since I have owned it. (Google I/O bought in July of last year) Once I installed CM9 it would then be recognized through Macbook Pro Android transfer.. (something like that. I sold the Macbook awhile back) I resort to Dropbox.. Its a *****.. But I don't complain and I stream most of my files anyway...

I often connect my tablet to my Win7 PC so I can copy TV shows from Media Center to the tablet. Sometimes the PC doesn't recognise the tablet unless I power down the tablet and turn it back on again. No idea why though.
follow this
download samsung 7510 usb drive, then download kies and last download windows media 11. if your xp its not original, follow some tutorial on youtube about how to install windows media player 11.
i has this issue with windows xp few days ago..

Actually you can. I don't know how he did it but if you want to know here's what I did.
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15693193.
You can root through an update.zip, flashed from the stock recovery (at least for the 3g version). After that install rom manager and flash cwm. Finally download cm9 or aokp or everything else you want and flash away!
Btw, I have no problem connecting to PC. I just did it that way.

Read the Kies information on Sammy's site. Make sure you have the settings as they tell you. You can make the tab act like this if USB Debugging is turned on for instance.

I had problem with my phone not being seen by my computer, I tried almost everything I read on these forums,
and nothing work, uninstalled drivers, changed settings on my phone, still nothing, then at last I change the setting
by dialing *#7284# (phone utility) made sure UART was set to PDA, USB set to PDA then Qualcomm USB Settings set to MTP,
now my computer sees my phone, I hope this will help others, it worked on mine, I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 2 flashed to Page plus,
with the help of Viper32, I get 3g service, pic messaging etc....
I just received a replacement S2 from AT&T, my old S2's USB port went out. I am wanting to root through Odin and get CM9 back on but I can not get my phone to connect to my PC. I have tried on my main PC Windows 7 64 bit and my laptop Windows XP. The phone is running 2.3.6 KK6. When I connect it I see MTP Initialization followed by MTP Connected on my phone, but nothing on my computer. When connecting in Mass storage mode by either enabling usb debugging or through settings -> wirelss -> USB Utilities the phone will just beep when connecting. I've tried the following to fix:
- Installed Kies, Reinstalled Kies
- Installed just the Samsung USB driver
- *#7284# on my phone and made sure PDA was selected under USB. Even switched to Modem then back to PDA.
- Tried removing my MicroSD card
- Multiple reboots
- Tried 2 different cables
- Tried different USB ports
Any other ideas on how to fix?
Try this dude.

First thing I would try is to completely uninstall the usb drivers in Windows, and then reinstall the usb drivers from this thread.
Well...I fixed my issue and want to headbutt a kitten as well. Turned out that I wasn't using a MicroUSB cable that was able to do Data as well as charge. Guess all MicroUSB cables are not created equally. I had 3 that I tried and they would just charge the device. I talked to Samsung and they asked if I was using my "Official" Samsung cable. I thought I was, turns out I wasn't. I went to Walmart and got a cable certified for Data and all is good in the world. Connected to my PC instantly.
So if you are having issues, check to make sure you are using your Samsung cable or one that is certified for data.
OK i had a Sony Xperia ARC and was really fed up with the 1 successful on15 tries connection to PC, so i said to myself " Self, it's time to switch phones " and went and got me a brand spanking new GS3 . Get home, all happy, plug in the phone and guess what ? F&*(*& no connections, fraking USB/ADB/MTP drivers not installing, failing and all that s*&@.
Tried re-installing drivers, Allshare, Kies, even tried Samsung G3 Toolkit , nothing works. Phone will not connect through USB cable.
I am about to return this Android bulls*&$ and goback to an iPhone , i really don't wnat to but , at LEAST they are able to connect to computer.....
Can anyone help ?
I am with Rogers, ver 4.0.4, SGH-I747M
Primary advice: Sell the S3 and purchase iPhone (recommended).
Optional advice:
-Uninstall any unnecessary Android phones drivers. Including Sony drivers.
-Reboot computer.
-Download and install Samsung USB driver: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...le_T999_GSIII_Samsung_USB_Driver_v1_4_6_0.exe
-Connect phone using Samsung USB cable that came with it.
-Transfer file.
*Tips: If connected to a low powered USB jack, use a powered USB hub. Avoid using cheap USB cables.
Other: ADB and MTP are two different things.
Bonus points: Drag and drop a single photo or music file to iPhone using Windows Explorer without requiring iTunes, then view/playback file on iPhone.
Maybe the problem is your computer and not the phones...

First off,
What type of computer are you using? I'm guessing PC, so what version of windows? Win Vista and above should automatically pull the drivers from the internet for MTP.
Have you checked the usb port to make sure it is not faulty? do other devices work fine through that port?
If so, uninstall any android related software and reboot, then install samsung kies. If the drivers still fail to load there is something wrong on the pc.
you had the problem with your previous phone as well, sound like dodgy usb port on the computer to me

Ok, well first things first: it takes time to get used to a different manufacturer
Second: Stop freaking out, and chill a moment, you're just making everything worse
Now, read carefully (Was just about to write listen lol)
Take your phone in your hand. Plug it into the computer.
Read the guide in my description! ADB/WIN8) This will also work on windows Vista and 7, it has helped quite a few people
Calling all A95X MAX owners!
Has anyone successfully connected this TV box to a PC in order to send ADB commands?
I installed the S905X2 USB drivers that come with the S905X2_USB_Burning_Tool. With USB debugging on, I put the A95X MAX into bootloader and connected it to my PC with a male-to-male type-a USB cable, but there was no reaction in the PC's device manager, where you'd expect to see the Android USB driver appear when a connection is made. (I did get power throught the cable, for when I unplugged the power to the A95X MAX it remained on with the USB cable plugged in.)
Is there something I don't know about or has no-one here tried to connect the box to a PC via USB?
It would be useful to send ADB & fastboot commands to this TV box.
I feel your pain
doktorspin said:
Calling all A95X MAX owners!
I also have tried to connect via usb to the a95x max us and MANY other amlogic manufactured tv boxes without success.
You would think some expert person from this forum would respond to this issue once and for all... GRRRR....but noooooooo, no such expert person seems to want to answer the bell here or in any other related tech forum I have gone to. Is it possible no one on the planet knows the answer to this?
Attempting tech support at both gearbox and geekbuying websites, places where one typically purchases such tv boxes have yielded nonsensical/completely useless/incompetent answers so no point going there for any such related support.
Anyway. From what have been able to observe, the burning tool driver shown as "libusb-win32 usb devices" known strangely as the "world cup" driver, "only works for the burning process app as far as the box being recognized by the burning tool app via a USB connection but it seems it has nothing to do with the device being recognized by the ADB.EXE PC side app when using the USB connection.
For that you need an "android composite ADB interface driver". Unfortunately, none of the google or Microsoft or any "universal" ADB USB drivers I have tried, seem to work for these amlogic tv boxes which throws you back to having to go to the amlogic manufacturer to download their drivers from there.
Although this makes almost too much sense, you won't find any downloadable drivers at their site, "amlogicdot com, so we all are back to step one...GRRRRR.
So, until a forum expert from this xda-developers site finally decides to help with this issue....if in fact that will ever happen, we are all pretty much stuck in the mud here as far as the needed USB connection. Until that happens, here is a work around I developed which will let you communicate with these boxes without the need for any USB drivers as long as such amlogic boxes come rooted.
The TCPIP wireless or wired connection trick:
What many folks don't know is that if the box is unrooted you will ALWAYS need to have an initial USB connection before one can switch over to a tcpip connection ("ADB tcpip 5555" command after you have FIRST established a USB connection), but if the box is rooted you do NOT have to have an initial successful USB connection!!!
The secret is to switch over to tcpip at the Android device FIRST by using one of many apps on the android device that activates this such as "WIFI ADB" or "ADB WIFI reborn" app etc. Don't bother with the ones that say no root or any other app that says you need to connect a USB cable first since that defeats the whole point of this post right?...smile.
The app typically will give the IP address of your device along with the command needed on the PC side such as "ADB connect 192.168.1.3:5555" (the device IP address along with its port number ) which allows you to connect your PC to the android device via tcpip WITHOUT ever connecting to any USB cable and having to worry about non functioning USB drivers.
In closing, although I think I have provided a life saver solution for those that cannot get the USB connection to work to still be able to connect to their android device regardless of a non-working USB connection, there are cases where windows apps relying on ADB won't work even with a rooted device because these developers at program entry, STUBBORNLY just look for a USB connection instead of looking and USING A-N-Y valid and working connection as should be the case regardless if it’s thru USB or tcpip.
If any other forum member can help us figure out how to force these win apps to use ANY available valid working connection and not just a usb connection this post would then have a COMPLETE solution to this issue.
Hopefully the explained tcpip work around in this post can help those stuck with a non-working usb connection.

Ed,
Thanks for your response. I've been trying another approach to deal with my basic problem of being able to flash a system image (a ROM) onto the A95X MAX. It mainly involved trying to get TWRP running and get it to flash the image. That seemed to be unsurmountable. So now I'm looking into the possibility of putting the system image into a zip file with a little glue and using stock recovery to flash it from the SD card.
In the process I found instructions as to how to get ADB up & running over ethernet here:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2604727/how-can-i-connect-to-android-with-adb-over-tcp
Sounds like it should work, but I'm drained on this system into a zip file thing.
Cheers.
