Hello, I want to build a custom rom from source for my MTK Device. I am experienced in linux and in porting roms. On XDA I found some guides, what I need and etc. But none of them were enought for me. My device doesnt have device tree/vendor tree.. So by those guides I started making one. Someone from Reddit helped me how to start and fix few problems. This is my tree now: https://github.com/Marekkon5/gionee-s5_5-device-tree . So I need some help:
1. How to add the headers to kernel
2. How to get all those files u can see in other device trees?
3. Some edits (if needed) for MTK.
ROM: LineageOS 13
Device: Gionee S5.5
Chipset: MT6592 (Mediatek)
Thanks
Hello Guys!
I have an InFocus m370i device which has no kernel sources available.. It has an MSM8909 (Snapdragon 210) chipset. I found out about CodeAurora, under which there was something like Android for MSM. i understand that MSM relates to Qualcomm snapdragon chipsets. What is this Git? is it providing kernel sources for universal MSM8909 chipset? i have an release named for my chip with an android version 7.01.02
your help will be appreciated the most.
I have a Lenovo s820 which is a quad core processor based on mtk 6589. Lenovo provided Open Source Code for Kitkat on their website but i would like to update it to lollipop or maybe further. I previously owned a MI4I(Ferrari) which originally had lollipop but the developers were able to modify the device tree to support nougat and now even Oreo. If anyone of you'll could provide the steps or resources to do so i would be grateful.
Looking forward to expert opinion on this thread.
The broken is the chip set. They never release the source code for their kernel changes. This is why you don't see alot of development for those chips.
Hello everyone.
Is there a nethunter kernel for realme 7 RMX2151 ??
If not, was anyone able to compile realme devices kernels so they can support wifi adapters ? Or It won't work?
The method to do that is here, but it's a bit complicated for me, I hope if anyone was to do it and got success , pls tell me
Porting NetHunter to New Devices manually | Kali Linux Documentation
In order to port NetHunter to a new device, it’s important to understand how NetHunter is separated. NetHunter is divided by the rootfs (also known as the chroot but will be referred to here as rootfs) and the kernel. For the most part, the rootfs is not important to your Android device as it...

Plz compail nethunter kernel for realme 5i
Since the device runs on arm-based kernel and firmware, It would be great if someone make a custom vendor with arm64 support.
The device has binder architecture.
This would allow users with the following device to run arm64 GSIs and run apps that has discontinued arm support such as Instander, A modded version of Instagram.
Here's the device's kernel :
GitHub - mohammad92/android_kernel_samsung_a02q: Kernel source for the Samsung Galaxy A02s (Snapdragon)
Kernel source for the Samsung Galaxy A02s (Snapdragon) - GitHub - mohammad92/android_kernel_samsung_a02q: Kernel source for the Samsung Galaxy A02s (Snapdragon)
github.com
I would love to be a tester for it in case someone makes one.

Then a custom vendor would be great.

The Samsung A20s has the same internals down to the very chip and runs 64 bit, porting its vendor to the A02s may be possible

I saw it in telegram but it's worth trying this beta test flash only arm64 gsi (arm32 not supported) and you need a permissive kernel (you can try the permissiver v5 module)

Well, that's cool. However, It would have been great if the dev posted it on Github and made it open-source

Wow. It seems that it can run Secure GSIs as well unlike the stock vendor which cannot.
