I tried installing Android 12 GSI arm64+GMS via ofox recovery. Here's the procedure I did-
1. Had an AOSP ROM installed
2. Rebooted to recovery.
3. Flashed vbmeta.img
4. Formatted data
5. Flashed system.img
6. Cleared cache data
On rebooting, it says no OS installed. I'm also unable to flash any other ROM.
It says unable to update logical partition :/system_root and so on

I bricked my phone. So i followed gizmochina unbrick tutorial flashing Chinese rom and now neither can i update to any new rom(#update error) or flash(#can't mount cust error). Can anyone link me to a system and boot nandroid backup file to download for x821. Or any other solution?
Heyyo,
1. Use a PC to download TWRP
2. Reboot to bootloader
3. Fastboot boot TWRP.img
4. Format data (not wipe data, format data there's a separate button for it... Please be aware it will remove all pictures, music etc from the le max 2 so be sure you have it all backed up.
5. Wipe system, Dalvik and cache
6. Install other ROM with TWRP be it EUI ROM or custom ROM.
7. Reboot
I did install twrp and tried flashing stock and custom roms but showing mouting /cust failed.
Hi guys,
I cannot flash any ROM above Android 6. I have TWRP 2.8.7 installed and I can't flash any other version neither with fastboot nor directly in TWRP.
Rooting with SuperSU is possible in TWRP but not with Magisk or flashing any ROM.
This is how I tried to flash the ROM:
1. Boot into recovery
2. Make factory reset, wipe dalvik cache/cache, wipe system/data
3. Install ROM from SD-Card
4. Error message: E: unknown command [log]
E: Error executing updater binary in zip /external_sd/AospExtended.zip
Error flashing zip /external_sd/AospExtended.zip
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thank you so much for any help.
I installed TWRP 3.0.1.0 and I was able to install LineageOS.
Thread can be marked as solved and closed.
Hello, so yesterday I decided to try and Flash a lineage os onto my ASUS Zenfone 3
The ROM I used is this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/development/rom-lineageos-16-0-ze520kl-ze552kl-t3848349
I have the ZE552KL Model of Zenfone 3
TWRP version: TWRP 3.2.3
So here is the list of things I tried:
1. Restore the phone using the backup I did before I flashed it (inside TWRP) AND IT DIDN'T WORK!!!
2. I tried flashing it again and it didn't work
The process I went through when Flashing it:
1. Make a backup in TWRP
2. Wiped the phone:
Dalvik/ART Cache
System
Data
Internal Storage
Cache
3. I tried Flashing it but I came up with ERROR 7
4. I used the method online, removing the asserted and getprop commands, knowing that I can because the thread said it is for ZE552KL
5. Wiped it again and Flashed it
6. Came up successful but with 2 lines of "E: unknown command [log]"
7. Installed Gapps [NANO, 9.0 ARM64
8. Wiped cache
9. Boot the phone
10. Came up with the loading screen followed on with a number pad kinda thing, but soon it shut down and began the bootloop into recovery.
PLEASE HELP I NEED MY PHONE AS;LDKGH;L
Hi, i decided to flash aosp extended but went immediately back to MIUI 11 because of some crashes.
I clean flash MiUI by fastboot, but it goes on bootloop.
Here's what i tried:
1) Install Orangefox recovery
2) Clean flash aosp based rom (wiping everything except sd-card)
3) Boot custom rom
4) Clean flash MIUI (both 11 and 10)
I solved every problem flashing by fastboot the latest roms https://c.mi.com//miuidownload/detail?device=1700340
but now it seems both with fastboot and .zip with Orangefox are stuck on bootloop.
I also tried wiping everything and clean flash with twrp with the same result.
Solved
1) Flash TWRP or OrangeFox (i did it with OF)
2) Clean Flash any custom rom, probably still bootloop
3) Reboot recovery
4) Wipe everything (dalvik, data, system, cache), also format data (format ≠ wipe)
5) Reboot recovery
6) Flash your MIUI rom
7) Reboot recovery
8) Repeat step #4
9) Reboot recovery
10) Flash again your MIUI rom
11) Reboot recovery
12) Flash persist.img file in persist partition, you can find this file in your fastboot MIUI rom downloaded at https://c.mi.com/miuidownload/index
13) Reboot system
14) Wait a lot, take a cup of tea.
This method works on locked bootloader?
good word
:good:
Hi. I just received Mi 10 and tried to flash it with xiaomi.eu rom (native one - Global which doesn't support 2 SIM). It was pretty hard as it often declined to boot to the system. Finally I able to flash it successfully and ROM detects both SIM cards. But another problem appears: randomly after reboot phone lose `system` and `data` partitions and stops booting while nothing was touched.
In TWRP (using Chinese TWRP 3.4.1b-0313 by wzsx150) it shows that `data` partition is empty (what cannot be as it contains a lot of apps data) and unable to mount `system_root`. When I ask to reboot to system is says "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot" that is also strange - OS definitely as installed. One more time - no operations on system partitions were done before device bricked, it just randomly stops booting. While after last installation I rebooted it about 10 times to ensure it works. And after night - it goes to fastboot screen again. While without reboot it works for a long time (before boot uptime was about 6 days).
Device were unlocked after 7-days timeout successfully.
Actions I am doing to flash device (using Linux):
`fastboot flash recovery recovery-TWRP-3.4.1B-0313-XIAOMI10-CN-wzsx150.img` - TWRP flashed ok (I also tried other version include one specified in this thread: Ultimate guide to install stable or Dev rom from Xiaomi.eu)
Boot to TWRP
Format (not wipe) data: re-create FS (i.e. create ext4 FS) and format.
Copy `xiaomi.eu_multi_MI10_20.6.18_v12-10.zip` to device (or use external OTG storage)
Flash it successfully
Copy Magisk 20.4 to device
Reboot to TWRP and flash Magisk
Wipe cache
Reboot to OS
Pass first-time setup, install apps
Reboot couple of time to ensure everything works
Any idea what happens? I ab actually ran out of idea - it is not first phone I am reflashing and not the first Xiaomi device (before used Mi 6 reflashed with LineageOS for about 3 years) and it is first time I see device has probably corrupted data/system partition.
One note: after booting to flashed device I setup fingerprint and pattern for unlock. After reboot when phone cannot boot into OS TWRP doesn't ask for pattern (while in normal situation is should, latest TWRP how to unlock with pattern). It makes me think that at the boot moment partitions already corruppted.
Do that for clean installation:
flash fastboot rom (https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/umi/) China Stable
when phone is open, shutdown. open fastboot and flash this recovery (https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682877442)
in advance wipe section select dalvik, data and internal strorage then wipe
reboot to recovery again, in wipe section do Format Data, then reboot to recovery again
connect pc, put latest eu rom zip to phone then flash
restart and do the first setup
reboot to recovery again and flash Magisk
