How often do the security patches come out for Android 11 on Moto G Power 2020 and when will they stop updating security for this phone? I'm still on April1, 2021 patch in Canada. Google brings out patches on a monthly basis. Why doesn't Motorola do the same?
I just received June 2021 security patch 7/8/2021, so for my device it appeared to be a month behind the date name. My device is unlocked Moto G power 2020 bought on Amazon, and my carrier is MetrobyTMobile. It appears where you get your device from makes a different on when you will get the OTA updates. It seems ones from the Trac phone get the updates fastes, almost as soon as they come out, and Google carrier is the slowest, have they gotten Android 11 yet?

I found a link(ignore if already seen), where in LG provides details about monthly security bulletin for their devices. Wondering why they don't roll out.

Not really that "monthly"...
Depending on regions and carriers, updates may be released monthly, quarterly or irregularly. LG plans to expand the list.

It's a shame our international G6 is so behind other devices which already got their updates. That's not what I expected when I bought this phone. Overall it's great but LG's support, in fact it's lack of support, sucks in many ways.
The best combo for me would be: G6 with OnePlus update schedule as it fixes their phones quickly and Apple update schedule for 3-4 years of updates
But why facilitate when you can make things more difficult?
Well, this is our punishment for buying a "budget" phone ? . I wonder how much would cost a LG flaghsip that receives monthly updates as Nokia. As an owner also of a Nokia 5, I must say that I.m impressed by their commitement, since they issued every month security patches and some days ago they pushed oreo beta with december patch.

2 year old Moto G Turbo, and LGs flagship G6, both are on Oct security patch.
Not all G6. Some in Israel, Turkey, Latin America. Mine is Europe open and is on July patch...
Since the U.S. government pretty much threw Huawei under the bus, I've been reluctant to get
a Mate10 pro, for fear of not receiving updates. The Mate9, that I currently have is still waiting
on the June patch, and now the July patch has hit FF. Neither, are approved.
Could someone tell me if the international version, BLA-L29 that I see is available on Amazon,
and has the bands to work in the USA, will the patches be more "approved" for this version,
than the one that has the U.S. warranty (Amazon), both appear to be L29 versions.
TIA
Huawei has promised bi-monthly updates for it's phones... Besides, the Android Enterprise Recommend program requires one security update every 90 days, if your Mate 9 is running on May 1, it's still within the boundaries of what Google requires.
Lots of updates will come to FF, not all of them will ever get released, they might have bugs or other problems.
I'm due for an upgrade on my contract and am considering the Mate 20 Pro, how are Huawei for updates, I have a Samsung S8 that still hasn't received Pie yet. Do they release the monthly security patch? Are there any issues?
Huawei are on the slow side with updates and nearly non-existent after 6 months of device cycle, Pie for Samsung S8 is released you can flash via odin or wait for OTA for your region/carrier
Just a friendly reminder that T-Mobile SUCKS when it comes to updates. For the 2nd year in a row they are the last US carrier to update the Note 8. Last year they were by FAR last to update the Note 8 to Oreo. They released and then immediately pulled the OREO update on April 1st and 3rd. They then held it until May 15. Hey T-Mobile! YOU SUCK!
2018 Note 8 OREO Updates Pushed:
March 27, 2018 AT&T
March 30, 2018 Sprint AND Verizon
May 15, 2018 T-MOBILE (SIX+ WEEKS LATER!)
Tmobile pushed Oreo on April 2, 2018. Not sure where you got May 15th from.

And they immediately PULLED the update a day later because they found a bug and released it six weeks later. Do better research.

March 30, 2018 – Sprint and Verizon US: Oreo is now available for Sprint and Verizon users in the US.
April 1, 2018 – T-Mobile US: T-Mobile became the last major US carrier to roll out Oreo to its Note 8 subscribers.
April 3, 2018 – T-Mobile US: Spotted by Android Police, it looks like T-Mobile halted the Oreo update for its Galaxy Note 8 subscribers and has not yet restarted its OTA rollout.
April 3, 2018 – Unlocked US: According to multiple user reports on Reddit, Android Oreo is rolling out to unlocked Galaxy Note 8 units in the U.S.
April 13, 2018 – Unlocked UK: Samsung is rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to unlocked Galaxy Note 8 units in the U.K.
May 13, 2018 – T-Mobile US: The carrier apparently fixed the issues that caused it to halt the first update and started rolling out Android Oreo to Note 8 devices again.
Here, I made you something.
And your point is? ?
I'm on tmobile. It updated this morning
Yep. Got it at 2:30 am earlier today (T-Mobile)
From my perspective, that makes T-Mobile the *best* at updates, since they actually fully test them - and pay attention to feedback from early upgraders. When it comes to something as critical as OS updates, the last metric you want to score them on is speed of release.

My S23 Ultra (European EUX OXM) hasn't been updated with the February 2023 Security Patch Level. I'm on S918BXXU1AWA6.
Though, I recently updated my S21 Ultra (AUT) and strangely it's more updated than my S23 Ultra .

I'd love to see that.
We are sit on pre released software... wait until 17th for official release of the phones.
No one will be on the February release....apart from beta testers....until the release date.

Just install this apk [main components]
Main components 2023-02-01 S+, from apkmirror. Till this morning i had also only the januari update, now i am on the feb one.
After installing apk, force stop of Play store apk, Play Services apk, and delete both cache, then reboot. You should have the feb one.

I think you do not know, but there is quite major difference between google play and security patch.
Yeah I think it'll be tomorrow ah about 9ish, that's what happened last year anyway
Anyway, incredible that this device is so good with pre release firmware.
Imagine if with time they will further improve camera and battery life

You are right, my mistake
Samsung is a lot better with updates. The only reason you wouldn't get an update on time is if there's a bad bug that requires fixing and the update got pulled. Also South Korea obviously gets updates first followed by Europe. USA gets updates anywhere from 3-5 days to 1-2 weeks after Europe does. From my experience on previous Galaxy's it was always about 1 week after updates went out in Europe for my USA Galaxy to get updated.

I wish I could agree, but where I am, the security updates have been sporadic at best, last one in S21ULTRA was the January sec patch delivered February 21. More often than not in 2022 two security updates were delivered at the same time, almost 3 months later than the Pixel.
Oh I was confused glad I'm not the only one.

where are you from? I guess it also depends on your country since there may be special circumstances, specific carriers or government approval, ect. that is delaying your update since once Samsung sends out updates in S. Korea their should be no reason why you are not getting the update unless your country or your specific carrier is holding it back. It used to be really bad here in the USA but the last 3 years I have seen a huge improvement in the update schedule for Samsung devices.
my s23 ultra security patch Jan 2023.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G security patch Feb 2023.
no day one patch so far with the security patch for february
I think they decided the phone is perfect already, **** the updates
Yeah, just checked for new OTA software updates.
Also checked on Sammobile Firmware.
No luck
