Is it possible to move from one Android device whole application with all the settings like logins, passwords.
One is internet banking from the Country I am not in yet. I do not want to end with issue like that app will stop working one the first mobile and I will need to go to the branch or so to get registered on the second mobile.
So I'm sure I have some malware or something on my phone I turned on developer mode because someone told me it had a basic task killer to stop background apps but now I have this folder pop up I'll delete it and it just changes names not only that my tethering data went through the roof any help is greatly appreciated thank you
Either do a Factory Reset or better, reflash Stock ROM to get rid off of malicious apps / services.

Does anyone know if Lookout is still functioning on WM6.5? I know that only Android and iPhone versions are now offered from the official site but I believe there was a beta version running on WM6.5

There are 3 functions:
Anti-virus and firewall - which has a useful system scan facility but I don't know how up to date the definitions are. Also, if I left this facility running in the background it interfered with some of the phone's functionality - in particular, opening jpegs and executing .exe's
Data Backup - cloud backup at www.mylookout.com which I have not tried and kept the function disabled
Missing device - which I have tried. Requires you to register your phone number and have a data or wi-fi connection running. From the www.myphone.com you can log into your account and pinpoint the location of your phone on google maps +/- 200m. You can also trigger the scream function so that the phone gives out a loud siren sound. Handy when it is lost behind a cushion on the sofa. There is also the option to wipe the phone contents if you think that it I has been lost or stolen and got into the wrong hands... I did not try that bit!
I think you can back it up to the cloud before wiping.
This last feature seems worth it on its own. It is free even though Android/iPhone users pay for it although there is no support and it uses 3g data if not connected to wi-fi.
Hi everyone, I'm new to Android, not very knowledgeable, have got into a pickle and wonder if anyone can help me.
The Phone - I bought my first Android phone just over a year ago, a Storex DC50G. It's a dual SIM phone running Android 4.2.2, made (or at least marketed) by a French office equipment company. Not very popular, sold mostly in southern Europe (I'm in Britain). Most of the discussion online is in French or Spanish. I understand a bit of both languages but can't find any discussion of rooting, hacks or ROMs. Some software reports the manufacturer as Alps (but they deny it). Until recently it did what I needed and I was happy with it.
The Problem - Unfortunately, I got complacent because of what I'd read about Android's good security and Google's vetting of apps on Play Store. I only installed respectable apps from Play Store, but at some point I must have installed something bad which installed more bad things. I suppose it's possible that this was one of the Chinese phones that had a trojan as it left the factory. At one stage as soon as I connected to WiFi or cellular data I'd get a blizzard of animated advertisements and new installations that made the phone unusable.
What I've Done - Booted to safe mode, with no data connection. I tried 'Factory Data Reset' via settings and via the recovery menu. That wiped all my data but the malware survived. I uninstalled all downloaded apps and removed the SD card. I found several apps that looked obviously suspicious but were installed as 'Factory Apps' so could not be uninstalled. I've disabled them. Malwarebytes detects 16 pieces of malware but can't delete them ('Do you want to delete the selected items?' -> 'Name of application Do you want to uninstall this app?' -> 'Name of application Uninstall unsuccessful'. The listed malware is:

I've tried deleting them one by one, getting the name of the app from the error message and disabling them individually. The phone is much better now - usable for making calls, but I'm not happy to trust it with passwords, banking applications etc. and every time I unlock it I'm greeted by a naked Chinese lady who I didn't invite.
Lessons Learned - next time I'll buy a popular big name phone so I have a chance of getting support, from the community if not from the manufacturer. Android's security turned out to be just enough to prevent me from making a proper back-up and now to stop me uninstalling the malware, but not enough to keep out the nasties. I'd be tempted to root a new phone straight away so I can back up the operating system - even at the risk of invalidating the warranty.
What next? - I'm being cautious, but haven't got much to loose. I'm thinking of trying some of the general purpose rooting tools like Kingoroot, then if I get root successfully trying again to uninstall the malware (but don't know how to be sure I've spotted it all). Ideally, I'd flash a fresh, clean ROM, but since it's not a popular phone there's no such ROM and no-one seems able to give me a clean manufacturer's ROM.
Is this a sensible way forward? Is there a better way forward? Should I chuck it in the bin and go shopping for a new phone?

Start off by saying I have little to no Android knowledge (rooting, custom ROMs, modding or programs for such things), however I have basic knowledge of linux and the command line.
My S2 GT-i9100 rapidly heats up and its battery is *unimaginably* and randomly depleted by Google Play Services and quickly renders it useless as a device. I want to fix it and not turn it into a brick.
I got the phone from a family member from Europe (I live in Australia), who had used it for about 6 months. When I got it, it was already unlocked and rooted by some phone place over there. I didn't have any problems.
Recently however Google Play Services (size 127 MB) (version 9.2.56) has randomly started doing *something*, this despite no mobile broadband and almost no internet usage from wifi either to invoke it. Considering it is on ICS (no idea how to upgrade, or whether i should upgrade, or what to upgrade to) it has to be either a bug or a virus considering all those Android exploits in the news recently.
To fix it whenever it occurs, I clear the RAM twice then go into the list of Applications and Force Stop Google Play Services (more than once if the button isn't greyed out).
I tried to disable the components of Google Play Services(listed below) but the problem continued AND it erased the names of my contacts meaning I was left with a bunch of numbers with no name.

Wi-Fi use only (and nonexistent nowadays), no mobile broadband
GT-i9100 running Android 4.0.3 (ICS)

It also has a yellow triangle at the bottom when I turn it on (don't care about cosmetics)
Rooted with CWW (no idea about how that works or what it means) and SuperSU (i do know how root user works in linux)
Root Browser + Terminal Emulator installed (my doing)
Google Authenticator + Microsoft Account Authenticator (i don't wanna screw up anything with these, got codes for google authenticator, need to research microsoft)
Call history and text messages (I would like to keep these and would like to know how to backup the phone first of all)
So I'm looking to figure out what would be the best course of action to fix this without screwing up anything. I know the standard solution would be a factory reset but I don't have any backups (also don't know how to), don't want to brick the phone and don't know what it would actually do, and even if it worked, how to root the phone again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok i don't know if this the right forum but i looking to give out to a few workers phones that have no internet access at all (i only want them to use if for calls and SMS - i not going to explain why i want it that way). i'm looking for an easy way to disable the network altogether.
i've got a GT-S6310 SAMSUNG. i tried an idea that i got into the platform.xml file (with the RomToolBox app) that is located in the etc/permission folder and erased the internet line>save and then restart and it worked. but there many problems like apps that crashed without even opening theme like google services.
i'm looking to just erase or change one file in the system to get to my goal. i'm sure that there are very specific files that are critical for the internet to work and if they are disabled or changed the internet access would go down. please help
My phone was serviced "reprogrammed" and when it came back I keep getting ads. I tried resetting the phone but it still keeps getting adware silently installed. Is there any way to fix this?
You are not alone. Bought this phone for my mom since she likes a bigger screen to do social media stuff. The malware popped in after the last ota. The official wirelessupdate app included on the phone silently installs random apks that pushes full screen ads and impersonates clicks even if the the phone is not being used. This is common with generic android phones coming from CHINA
I haven't figured out a way to root the phone as most rooting methods will fail(because of the sucky spreadtrum SOC which makes it difficult to root the phone).SADLY, rooting is the only way to disable/uninstall the wirelessupdate app.
However, here's a workaround I found that works.
1) restrict your network to limit background data usage (Found in settings).
2) **uninstall the malware app: finding the app may be difficult as It normally disguises itself as a system app with names like radio, settings, wifi or some application name that doesn't even make sense. It uses a lot of data and is always active. You'll know its the fake app if it poses as a system app but you have the option to uninstall it(System apps cannot be uninstalled without root/Su access).
Buttt....
The wireless update will probably install another malware app after uninstalling the current one.
3)disable notification of the app so it doesnt send fake notifications to you that opens ad based webpages as it also fakes notification, posing as a fake notif from FB, whatsapp
4) force stop it and stop the services from settings so it doesn't load or push apps while you use your phone
Restarting the phone will make the app run again
5) Remove the app's permission. By default its granted access to location, settings, storage and sometimes camera or mic. The wireless app doesnt detect this and wont turn those permission back on
6) lastly, you can contact firefly support AND PRAY TO THE GOOD LORD they know know what they're doing. Because I did and they were completely clueless on the troubleshooting or on the issue itself and even blamed the problem on the user. Ridiculously stupid.
I haven't really tried ADB yet because i don't have the time and the phone lacks resources online to restore it in case I brick it. Frankly, this phone is not worth investing time fixing especially with the quality of support it has from Firefly and the price it asked for.
