@RedSyzer, glad you're still working on Note 5, for which I am truly thankful. I am using Bliss at the moment but it heats my device up pretty fast, causing battery drain. Watching a 10 minute video with NewPipe uses up at least 15% of the battery. Because of this, I started using the device plugged in all the time but unfortunately, probably due to overheating, the battery is now faulty as the device force shuts down when I do anything that's moderately resource intensive like browsing the web or taking a photo as long as it's not plugged in. I was wondering if this ROM also suffers from the same issue. Potentially it's related to Android 10 but I highly doubt it as other devices run Android 10 fine.
By the way, I think the screen resolution is set to 1440p for some reason but the official ROM allows you to reduce it to 1080p or 720p to preserve battery life. This setting would be a great addition as I can't seem to find an option to change the resolution on Android 10.

No This ROM Doesn't Have Have Any Battery Drain Issues
I Never Faced One And People Used This ROM Also Didn't Complain Me Abut Battery Drain
U Can Use This ROM As A Daily Driver Without Any Issue
Amazing rom so far, but just a small annoyance; i cant seem to find the option to enable the Android 10 gesture navigation. Not sure if its not there entirely or if i just cant find it

N920C Nor service issue.

Hello Professional_Guider Thank you very much for continuing this ROM first and wish you success.So what are the differences between this ROM and other aex ROMs, for example, how is the battery performance? does FM Radio work? is the camera paranoid camera? can you give us some information? Thank you. I wonder if this is a June security update
I downloaded the ROM and this is what i think:
*I really liked all the Fonts option
*I missed the AEX bootanimation (but this is not a problem at all)
*I always loved that camera App don't know why, but seems to take better photos than the
App in the other AEX 5.5 ROM (Don't know the reason but when u put the phone horizontally
and try to slide between all the option there is a delay, and when u touch one option it
doesn't open or open the one above (with the phone vertically there is no problem)
*In "Recents" the animation when u slide between apps, seems to have a bit high lag (That got
solved when i deactivated the option "Recents background tint" in Extension->Recents->...
*Audio cracking bug is present in this ROM (But Dolby Mod is working)
**For the guy who asked... FM Radio is not working
***Didn't try battery backup with stock kernel, but with PBH if i'm not wrong...battery backup was really good.
P.S:I'm not asking or forcing the dev to do any fix...i'm just saying what i saw so far.
I attach 2 logs...i hope they are useful.

Clean install...I don't know why, i totally forgot to try Video recording, but Photos had no problem with the phone Vertically

did a clean flash. works fine. phone runs smooth. very smooth. haven't tested it thoroughly. this is my secondary device.
a couple of things i wanna know.
one, how do i disable one sim?
i didn't see the option in settings.
second, for the first time in my life i had to manually set the internet apn in an android phone. for some reason there is no 'pre installed' apn. i tried other sim but none of them had apn. had to manually set it. is this related to rom or problem with network??

These audio bugs was found in all oreo ROM. When you report some bug, please provide the logs.

I've never ever used AEX on any of my previous devices, so I was happy to try it :highfive:
Everything is nice and smooth, the only 2 things so far that don't work are:
Waking device via Volume Rocker - even though I selected the option in Settings it does absolutely nothing. RR + BTL are the same though, so I'm guessing it's device specific?
Waking device via Home button - that works on RR + BTL, so I think it should work here too.
Other than that I like it, also it has more free ram than the other 2 :victory:
If you could fix that Home button ... I really miss that, it's so much easier to wake the device with it compared to the tiny On button :laugh:

Waking device via Volume Rocker kind of work for me (it depends how long the screen is off).
Wake on home button I will try to figure out. I can't remember if it works on my AICP build. I don't know why it doesn't work on this rom and works on Bootleggers rom. The sources are pretty musch the same with the exception of AEX specific changes.

Waking device via Volume rocker never worked for me (on this device) on any rom, even though it's enabled in Settings ... no idea if I'm missing something there
I also just noticed that AEX has the same Ambient Display bug as the others: While it does show the email received you can't interact with it. It's supposed to be "swipeable" to dismiss or "tappable" to open the app (in this case K9 Mail), but that doesn't work - same as in RR + BTL.
I'm sure it's all stuff that can get sorted though :fingers-crossed:

I just eddited my post. If I turn off my with the power buttton I can wake with volume rocker for a short period of time.

Yes, I just found that out too - but it's for a VERY short period of time, maybe 2 or 3 seconds ... anything more and it doesn't react to the volume rocker any more. How odd :laugh:

Yea, I saw your post in his thread ... how odd then that it works there and not here :silly:
The power button is so tiny and I always have the tablet sitting on my left side on the desk, so the Home button is much easier to reach + press. Oh well, for a 1st release it's still great and I like that it uses less ram ... I'll stay with it for a while (sorry Bada :angel: )

It doesn't matter to me which rom people use. I do this for fun and learning. I really like @BADA 187's rom too. I'm sure I'll get this figured out.

Those commits have already been integrated into the source. My file matches bootleggers file. Home button doesn't work in AICP.
I love AEX.....thanks for bringing it to the Tab. It's my go-to on my Pixel 3 XL.

Did you have any luck with the Home button not waking the device? I asked a friend of mine, one of the AEX maintainers, to take a look and she said a fix is possible albeit difficult lol. I think (hope) she poked you :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Dirty flashed over previous version, all good. But yea, Home button not working yet and Volume buttons only wake the device within a few seconds of turning off the screen. Eventually those will work too :confident look:

The battery life has been tested on the Lineage 15.1 Telegram group and is so far performing similarly to Los 15.1 from what I can tell, it is built with the same sources, so I guess that makes sense.
TLDR: Good. It is going into deepsleep etc.
I recommend Pie animations and the XDA gesture navigation for no nav bar.

The battery life has been tested on the Lineage 15.1 Telegram group and is so far performing similarly to Los 15.1 from what I can tell, it is built with the same sources, so I guess that makes sense.
TLDR: Good. It is going into deepsleep ect.
I recommend Pie animations and the XDA gesture navigation for no nav bar.

Thanks for building and sharing. Rom is working very well, although a toggle to switch off one of the sim cards would be nice. I'm pretty sure it's eating my battery because I have two sims with one of them not receiving cell reception. I can remove the sim of course but a software toggle would have been nice nonetheless.

To be honest, that kinda mod is above my ability, what I've supplied is directly how it comes from AOSP Extended, other than the boot animation. I'll update until Oreo eventually gets forgotten about.

The S Pen works as a mouse would in AEX, so you do lose some functionality but you can still interact with the device with the S Pen.

Do you mind sharing that Zoran's version. I've be using iDan's 3.5 fix and it's also working pretty well. Only thing missing from it is front portrait mode.

I can't share as it's the donator version and front cam won't work as there is no front camera raw support from Samsung currently.

Are NFC and Google Pay works with this ROM?
After a day and a half of daily (heavy) usage, here's what I noticed:
- Most features (if not all) are working (I don't know for NFC/Google Pay as I am not using it though)
- Battery is average. Draining more than stock but it's common for custom roms. However, when charging using USB, the battery either stays the same or goes down slowly.
- Apps are killed almost instantly when switching. It makes multitasking nearly impossible as apps have to completely reload. Moreover, apps loading is pretty slow.
- Maybe some issues with location services (or new location settings). For instance, Night Light does not trigger automatically on sunset.
- For those using GAPPS, the package linked by the OP works fine. The only issue is that Digital Wellbeing keeps crashing.
I'd be happy to provide logs if needed, I don't know for which parts it could be possible.

Battery and Multitasking are kernel related. Currently the kernel only contains stock and CAF changes. I will import my changes from pie when I get time. I will see what's with location services when I get time.

About lags, I am trying to debug it. Might take some time. About network issue with Chinese Operators, there are some commits required in ROM source ig. I will have to check.
I noticed that actually, it seems that I'm not able to receive group messages (messages that are not sent just to me). Two people sent some to me last week and I did not receive any. I also struggled to receive some SMS for 2auth factor with an unique service, but maybe because they've issues on their side, I don't know.
Also, I noticed that there was a new build on October 3rd. Are there some changes compared to the October 2nd build ?
May I ask, can Nokia 6.1 plus use this rom?

yes it is so clean
So I've flashed this rom, and it's really good. Just, when I flashed stock gapps, it says not enought ram disk space, but with gapps mini it was ok.
Next it ask me for a password to access to android, but I don't have password, so I fix this with fastboot erase userdata and it was ok.
Next I have to add my carrer APN to have 4G/MMS
I have set many tweaks, but it seems impossible to have 4 boutons now as menu, and I can't configure the longpress and many others things about navbar now :crying: But the rom is really smooth and good, feel nice to have android 10 with all those features
I have a question, how the hell do you remove this title on the screenshot ?

ithink there's no options to remove it only if you read what saying and try to activate things on the title
Lol yes it ask me to activate sound and 4G, but I don't want to In previous android 8 there was a way in stock menus to disable status board, but I've don't find it here.

its the first build iwll see what i can do in the coming build
and iwill see what ican do with android 11
I think 7.3 is one of the latest build, but that's strange, missing many tweaks in navbar, double tap to sleep in home screen or navbar... All those were in 5.3, android 8
I think we have time for stable android 11 in our belover Nexus 6

Double Tap to Sleep is still im using it and it's work very fine
To Activate it : Go To youre Home Screen Long Press on your home screen And Choose Home Settings You will see the option double tap to sleep
And yes Aosp Extended 7.3 android 10 Missing many tweaks I can't do anything the rom is just like this from the Source ok bro
if You want many tweaks use Havoc Os Or wait for evolution x rom
