I'm trying to flash Magisk, but seeing as there is no TWRP yet, the only method is by patching the boot.img. If anyone could get their hands on that and upload it, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!
I have been looking around for it on the oneplus site and can't seem to locate it. <did you get the bootloader unlocked?
Not yet because none have been unlocked yet. Hopefully by about 60 days in they will be willing to unlock it.
If I actually had the skills to do it <i would just pay the little bit of change for the phone just to have it unlocked. Sigh I thought oneplus had a decent sized community for messing with these thngs.

Usually, yes but sadly T-Mobile is only (as far as I'm aware) giving these phones out on contract so unlocking is not possible yet.
It's possible to buy one of these on the oneplus store, too, now. I've ordered one, and I'm hoping that since it's not affiliated with any particular carrier, it'll be factory-unlocked?
We'll see, but if all goes well I may be able to upload a boot image wednesday or thursday.
Edit: though, I'm skeptical. Even if you have a boot.img, if you don't have an unlocked bootloader, can you really install Magisk?
And if you have an unlocked bootloader, you should be able to extract the boot.img file yourself using `fastboot`. Or at least, such extraction is possible.

If not then I guess we'll wait a while and see if T-Mobile will be generous enough to unlock the device for us. I'm sure they'll understand since OnePlus has a long history of allowing mods.

Sorry I cannot help with that, update full zip hasn't been posted by OnePlus on its support website, so stock boot.img cannot be retrieved from payload.bin
I've gotten my device, and it is fully unlockable - I've now unlocked fastboot.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get fetching partitions via fastboot to work - I think the OnePlus Nord N200 5G might not support it.
I'm thinking the easiest way forward would be to get a TWRP build working, and use that to retrieve the boot image? Or just wait until oneplus posts a full update zip, if they do that.

Ah I see, you bought it from the OnePlus Store. That's awesome to hear! Sad about the partitions though. I'm wondering if the N100 TWRP build would be similar enough to use as a base for the N200, I'm no expert on any of it but it seems quite reasonable.
Perhaps somebody can do full system dump and find boot
I'm eagerly following this. As soon as root is figured out, I'm going to buy this phone.
Edit: Is there a way to create a bounty for this? I would pay. I am new to this community.

Did you buy it outright or did tmobile hook you up?
I paid in full already
I just need to stop being lazy and go pay for it. Maybe when someone gets something going. Lazy is winning out at this point lol.
You don't need to pay it off to get your device unlocked. mobbdeep unlocked my phone even though it wasn't paid off yet and the OEM unlock option isn't greyed out anymore.
However, there's something that's been bothering me: With T-Mobile branded OP devices, you have to fill out an unlock request form on their website to unlock the bootloader. However, I checked their form and there's no option to request an unlock token for the N200 5G, so I'm not even sure if the bootloader can be unlocked on the Nord N200 just yet. Granted, I haven't tried to unlock the bootloader on my device yet. Can someone else try and unlock the bootloader on their N200?

I am looking at getting this phone. Seeing how it is without even simple CWM (How does this happen on XDA?!) I'll go ahead and build a recovery (and maybe a couple ROM's .
Here is what I need:
Latest Recovery Image
Latest System Image
Latest Boot Image
Latest graphics.c
Willing testers are needed as well.
When applicable:
Root your device
Install Flashify
Download Recovery image
Flash via Flashify.
Done. Custom recovery w/o bootloader unlock
I'll be happy to test out. Just let me know what I need to get ya and where to get it.

I don't know much about Flashify, but I didn't think you could flash anything without bootloader unlock/ Loki.
Can you enlighten me?
Does no good w/o unlocked bootloader, hence why there is nothing available thus far for it.
otherwise myself or others would have already done something.

Flashify does not need an unlocked bootloader. It works great on my HTC One Max, SHIELD Portable, and SHIELD Tablet w/o bootloader unlock. Unlocking the bootloader is a requirement of the past.

No offense, but dont delude yourself.
Without a viable way to backup and restore, one is just asking for trouble flashing things.
And w/o a unlocked bootloader you cannot flash recovery, esp on this device.

You are wrong.
Without even addressing the other models, HTC One Max used emmc based write protection. You CANT write to the recovery patition without using the official unlock, or SunShine/Firewater unlocks.
On top of that, even if you managed to write to the partition, say some how you had some exploit that dropped write protection, you still have to unlock it (or s-off, which is an unlock) because if you didnt hboot would fail the validation of the recovery partition.

LG G3 should fail for a similar reason, the signature checks. LG does not have an "s-off/unlock" to disable them. TMobile obviously isn't checking but AT&T is, I believe Verizon and Sprint do as well.

This whole thing you're trying to do puts everyone who chooses to use this process in danger of fetching up their device... And that's great you have a build booting - go you. But FFS don't go all "I AM THE GREATEST!" here when you're the one ignoring actually good advice from at least one professional in the industry who has done more for the community as a whole than your little piece of work. Please, keep your work to yourself, and just use it yourself without putting everyone else's devices at risk. Oh - and it seems your long break wasn't long enough - maybe consider extending it if it gets you this worked up over very helpful information.

I'm having issues unlocking the boot loader on the Moto E 2nd 4G LTE (XT1527) can anyone else confirm this phone can be unlocked?
I've gone through all the steps and it tells me this is not a unlockable phone even though I know that there is a CyanogenMod port for
this model.
I'm in the US, is there anything else besides having a supported unlockable phone, that can cause them to flip you the bird when it
comes to unlocking?
I'm going to call their tech support tomorrow, but it would be nice to have a confirmation before I get on the phone with them.
Also failing that has anyone discovered a force-able unlocking method for these phones yet? =/
This phone is unlockable. I found an AIO script on HTCMania. It unlocks the bootloader, flashes recovery, roots the phone and flashes any stock ROM you like.
People here in XDA don't like AIO's, also the script is in spanish.
Thank you very much.
I'll see if I can find it on HTCMania and see if I want to use it.
Would it be against the rules for you to post the link for me?
I've taken a look at the script, it just opens the motorola website for pasting the code with motorola's website.
It still does not solve the problem that Motorola ("Spits something green") won't unlock the boot loader.
It is not a bootloader crack unfortunately. =/
If someone knows of a non-motorola approved bootloader crack its what I'm looking for at the moment.
One that does not contain paste your code into Motorola's website for approval and subsequent refusal.
A extra thanks would go if it contains pictures of monkies using or otherwise defecating on the motorola logo during the cracking process.
Never mind I forgot about the posts below when I posted this about bootloader unlocking and bounties for a crack unlock, I'll follow these threads.

But what exactly is the problem with your device? I really don't know what have been the struggles of others, but the thread on HTCMania says the script works for any edition. If you need any help with the translation, I can help with the critical parts or anything specific you want..
By the way, just to make sure, the script is the one made by Alkalinorap

You're familiar with the motorola approved unlocking process right?
It just forwards you through the motorola approved booting processing, it just opens the page and helps you copy
the code to motorola.
I think your probable lucky and don't have a US edition of the Moto E or have service with a US phone provider,
or maybe the unlocker tool on the motorola website knows I'm in the US or something and won't unlock my phone.
The spanish script just does the same thing only does it through a shell script that opens windows for you to
paste unlock codes and send them to motorola for approval just like the standard motorola approved unlocking process.
It doesn't provide a means to unlock the bootloader if motorola decides they're going to flip you the bird.
It does not work if motorola will not approve your unlock process.
I have a XT1527 which I made the mistake of activating to cricket (at&t) before unlocking.
I don't know if they would have let me unlock my bootloader on my XT1527 before, but they
may have refused me the right after hooking up my cricket service to it.
May they both spontaneusly burst into flames and meet a screaming end.
Thanks for the offer on translating it, I got through script pretty easy I ended up using google translate to get through it.
I had already tried doing the standard unlock process.
Unless there is a second spanish script somewhere else on the page that does something different.
Accidental double post, I must have been tired when I posted this.
I'm confirming my own thread that unlocking should work on a XT1527 (unlocked) that you receive from the factory rather then used.
I've had issues getting the website to accept my code even had to have a motorola employee from their forums reformat my code for me (I tried their
data scrub tool and it didn't work) and finally it works.
XT1527 should be unlockable though, and mine was after the code was formatted correctly.
That doesn't mean you're not going to have the same trouble I did though.

Cool to know you were able to do it!! :good:
Hi everyone, long time xda lurker, first post. I bought a family member an unlocked Moto G Power (2020) for Xmas and 5 months later it took a fatal ride in the laundry machine The prices now for an unlocked phone aren't so great, so I bought the Tracfone version (XT2041DL) that I hoped to be able to modify back into a vanilla "Retail" phone. My problem isn't with the carrier lock (it will stay on a Tracfone carrier for many years), but with the bootloader lock. If I understand correctly, Tracfone won't unlock the bootloader even after carrier unlocking, so there's no way to install the vanilla "retail" ROM on it? Even if not possible to load a different ROM, at the very least I want the ability to remove the added carrier bloatware that Tracfone installs, but doesn't this require root?
I believe that one other user of this forum mentioned getting XT2041DL root, but with a locked bootloader, won't that still prevent me from making any permanent changes to the system folder? I did manage to find one guide at the following website, but I don't know if it's a reliable source of information [link] or if it will allow me to accomplish my goal. If I'm stuck with Tracfone's version of the ROM I will probably just return it and take the financial hit of the unlocked retail. Also, forgive me if I sound uninformed, I'm still very much a novice although I've managed to root a few items previously with the help of xda guides. Really appreciate the insight or advice from the community here.

TracFone won't unlock the bootloader. I've tried the guide in the link OP posted and it doesn't work. One of the ADB commands does bring up the unlock warning but does nothing from there. Unfortunately the only way to unlock the BL is through Motorola's website. If you're phone is eligible, they'll send a code to unlock the phone.

I don't think tracfone is eligible to be boatload unlocked that is the whole question where it started..not sure what adb shell cmd you are referring too? Is that work for your XT2041DL? Or you have other moto g power variants?

No, it's fine here. There are a bunch of threads regarding bl unlock with a Verizon branded device going all the way back to the P3. But I am curious too since temp root was always something that was thought to be the key to unlocking the OEM switch and unlocking. But I don't think it will work from the few posts I've seen. I'm not sure but I think you can get the switch to show active but it doesn't change the function of it or allow it to bl unlock in fastboot. Perhaps I missed the discussion and maybe I should search for it, right? lol I don't have much interest since I will never buy a Verizon device that can't be unlocked but I still am curious.
I see that you cross posted your request to this thread. We should continue it here... and close this thread. No point now.
Verizon Pixel 6 Pro Bootloader Unlock?
Its been a very long time since i have done any of this stuff. I bought the verizon version and cannot get bootloader unlocked. I have searched and see there has been the same problem in the past models. Is there a bypass or workaround? I can...
forum.xda-developers.com
Temp rooot is usually the first step to bootloader unlocking from how I remember it.
However, an exploit or app or something else will still be needed to unlock the bootloader.
A good example would be Sunshine exploit for HTC/Verizon HTC devices. Verizon was always much more difficult because HTC allowed for bootloader unlocking, but Sunshine took it further with a full unlock with "S-OFF" which stands for Security Off (the phone comes S-ON).
So since Verizon made HTC block us from unlocking bootloader/root. Getting temp-root was essential to the unlock/S-OFF.

Given the OP's post is nearly a year old and they have never replied, it's a pretty good bet he wasn't able to unlock his bootloader. Now, I'm sorry if in your original thread wherein you asked about this for your device you didn't like the answer you were given, but the fact remains that the Pixel 6 / 6 Pro devices on Verizon are very tightly locked down.
Verizon devices are always going to be locked down than my ability to get a partner unless by an exploit.
So, am I correct in assuming I’m unable to do anything with this device until I can sim unlock? Seems that’s a requirement for boot loader unlock. I got one of these for cheap cheap because I need an android device with out gapps but I’m thinking that’s not going to work until it’s sim unlocked. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

No problem, it takes almost exactly a week to the hour to get the code. Rest of the guide should be fairly easy to follow too. Just remember if you ever you the MSMTool to get back to stock it relocks your bootloader. You'll need to unlock it again by using the file OP sends you before flashing other nonstock firmwares again
