Hi
Is there a way to hide the status bar and navigation bar on all apps? Nova works only inside the launcher. My phone can't be rooted yet (V600VM)

Is there a way or an app for hide the status bar on Galaxy S3? I'm afraid of burn in the status bar on the display like my old Galaxy S2. For now i'm using Nova launcher that allows to hide the status and dock bar.
bump
and OP how do u hide/unhide in nova? by sliding or by changing settings?
You could use GMD status bar. But that means your home button no longer works.
Though there are various Gesture Apps you could use to simulate it. Including the full/paid version "GMD GestureControl ★ root" which let's you set up a whole bunch of multi-touch gestures a la iPad, there is a lite version . Also there is zMooth Pro * root which is $1 something. Or else Button Savior.
Finally GoLauncher EX let's you hide the status bar with a gesture.

Is there any other app for hide the status bar? GMD GestureControl ★ root works very bad with wallpaper...
Hi there, noob question, just checking - is there any way to hide navigation keys and make the status bar transparent without the root? /I think not/. I'll do a root for this purpose if I have to, but could anyone please navigate me as what to do next? Don't want to go custom rom, so I guess once rooted I go for some app that hides the navigation keys and makes the status bar transparent? Sorry if this is really basic, don't have any experience with this.
Root needed

Ya you need to root your phone to hide the nav bar.
After you're rooted, use this app to configure which application you want to go fullscreen
Use this application to hide the nav bar on google play : Full!screen
When 4.4 is available for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, you can make the navigation bar and/or status bar transparent. Numerous launchers offer now the ability to hide the status bar. No root required.
You can do as I do. Use the Xposed module Tinted Statusbar. This is how my statusbar and navbar looks like.
Or you can use one of several other modules that also does the job just fine.

- Nova Launcher (Prime)
- ClickUI icons
- DashClock Widget
- Blurred wallpaper using "Blurone"
- Used "Tinted Statusbar" module for Xposed Framework to make the statusbar and navbar transparent.

How do I make my navigation bar and status bar transparent?
I tried the Force Translucent Kit Kat Module and it works for the navbar in some apps but the status bar is glitchy and I tried to only make it affect the navbar but I just could not , it kept glitching. So can some one please help me find an app or module that will help me make my navbar background and status bar transparent/translucent?
I have a rooted Nexus 5 with stock ROM.
Hello.
I just installed KitKat from http://forum.xda-developers.com/oma...rom-omate-truesmart-ironman-firmware-t2998434 and it looks like most apps launch in fullscreen mode and I have trouble getting the status bar back anywhere except from the default launcher.
Is there a way to disable this "fullscreen by default" setting anywhere?

No, this is changed in the ROM. We do not know how it is done, the Umeox/MediaTek changes are hidden.
The change is different from 4.2, so SwipeStatusBar very seldom work.
The workaround is rooting, Xposed, GravityBox and enabling Expanded Desktop.
Permanent status bar
I finally have a working PoC for permanently enabling the status bar in every app, and will try to build an Xposed module to control the visibility of the status bar in these smart watches. I'll be back
Edit:
I'm back.
Xposed module to enable the status bar in (most) launchers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/truesmart-status-bar-custom-launchers-t3063624
(N.B! Only tested on a 4.4 ROM)
I dont like the fullscreen gestures. The google gesture navigation bar is in my opinion much better.
