Yes actually they are asking for edl authentication, how bypass that, should I login my MI id?
For many devices, the EDL mode is active for a few seconds when the phone is connected to the PC via USB cable (the phone switched off). Roughly until it switches to charging. Sometimes without holding the buttons, sometimes with them. However, sometimes it is necessary to disconnect and reconnect the battery first.

I tried a lot to unlock the bootloader of my phone but I am getting the error that says account on device is different from the current.
I have tried everything that I found on the MI Forum:
1. Flashing and trying to unlock through China Dev ROM
2. Going to i.mi.com and invoke find device and then unlock.
3. Relogin on mobile phone and login through Mobile Phone everywhere.
4. See if device is shown on i.mi.com
5. Tried on 3 different computers 2 physical and one VMware
6. Tried after 2-3 weeks
7. Mailed Xiaomi
None of the thing worked for me, I have posted regarding this multiple times on Mi Forum but the mods just send me links of things which I have already tried and when I say that it's not working they stop responding and then when I make a new thread they delete it.
Please help me and please don't ask me to unofficially unlock because if it fails then those idiots at Xiaomi will not fix it.

Have you tried flashing a different ROM? People here: http://en.miui.com/thread-226193-1-1.html had success by doing that. Try flashing the Dev ROM for your phone here: http://en.miui.com/download-301.html . If you try this and it doesn't work out, it's probably best just to unofficially unlock it.
Do you have access to a VPN? I've heard some people have had success logging into a server in Asia somewhere (taiwan, korea, china) and then using miflashunlock tool. I can't say I've had that issue. Do you use phone number to log into i.mi.com or do you use email? I've only ever used email to link my phone and the account, and it's always worked.

I had that one, too. You need to set your nickname for MIUI forum. Just log in to your account on the forum (http://en.miui.com/forum.php). You will be asked to choose the name. After you do so. Try to ask for unlock again. It should work now.
Actually i was logging in using my old account created before i purchased my device (created using email address) and account crated in my device was using my mobile no. Due to which i was unable to apply but now successfully applied using device account. Thank you for help
I get the same thing. with redirect to chinese page. since i'm using chrome browser, so i use chrome translate feature, so I the two different messages were translated. it keeps switching between the two pages, but managed to see the translated messages. They're currently upgrading system thus request of application is being put on hold/blocked.

haha. found out solution. you need to login with your account to MIUI forum app (search in Play Store) and login with your newly created account, you will need to create a nickname. Please ensure you get to a page in the forum app that says you've earned 4 experiences for your first login. then try again applying for unlocking permission.

3 devices per account maximum. Maybe you exeded your limit.
Well, I didnt know that about 3 devices limit per 1 account. I've unlocked 3 devices till now so that is the issue. THank you!
1st download miunlock tool, then extract and run it..,sign in .
2nd when it is shown that you r device is not supported by mi unlock, click go..and click mi unlock, and sign in there too
3rd the page will redirect to some page, that will ask you for a username,if you choose suitable username, the, sad emoji will not appear again, then you will be redirected to miui forum, which is in chineese,u have to manulayy make it in english,by clicking at top left corner, englisg forum, and then when english forum comes, click sign in and you r all set,
finally when you click go from mi unlock tool, and then miui unlock from official page...you will be redirected to your requet intended page......chilll bro

I saw this thread was brought back from the dead, and I just saw this post. Are you serious???
I thought it was 1 unlock for 1 device per month... and even that's pushing it. It's hard enough to get an unlock as it is and they just went and made it 5 times harder with this nonsense. The Note 4 may be my first and last Xiaomi phone...

Apply for unlock
So i saw a lot of videos of people applying to unlock the bootloarder of thier Xiaomi phones by going to the unlock page click the blue unlock button and then they get redirected to put their account with phone number so they can receive one SMS from xiaomi when the unlock approval is done, i have a Xiaomi Redmi 5 plus from Mexico and when i try to go to this so called page to put my phone number and apply for unlocking i always go redirected to download the Mi Unlock Tool first.... i cant find any page now to put my number and wait for Xiaomi to send me that so called SMS.
My question is if i download the Unlock Tool and connect the phone in fastboot to try to unlock it just as the web page is telling me right now, am i going to have the phone plugged in until the process of unlocking finishes, the whole 15 days? (I know it sounds stupid but i am new to this)

First, applied for bootloader unlock successfully?
OK, now wait for their approval, ok.
Approved?
Then, DL MI_Unlock tool, try to unlock your device by signing in your mi account, you might get error or some hours of time to unlock your device, that means, you've to wait until few days to unlock, until then you just enjoy MIUI ??
"This guide is usesless now.. Becuase honor is now not providing bootloader unlock codes... If you already have unlock code then you can follow the setups.."
To install Magisk and gain root in your honor view 10 you have to unlock your bootloader first.
##Please backup your data before proceeding with the process. You will loose all your data if you unlock the bootloader. ##
Please follow below steps to unlock bootloader
1) Create a Huawei ID on this page https://goo.gl/GkkdxE if you don’t have one already.
2) After creating a Huawei id, fill out the details.
3) You will need your phone’s IMEI number, to know that dial * # * # 1357946 # * # * on the dialer app. Fill the required fields and click the Submit button.
4) Save the unlock code you received.
5) Now connect your Honor View 10 to the PC with a USB cable.
6) In the ADB command window, type the following command to boot your Honor View 10 into fastboot mode.
adb reboot bootloader
7) To unlock the bootloader, type the following command and hit Enter. Replace key with the unlock key you’ve previously saved. For example, fastboot oem unlock 44801904392841
fastboot oem unlock [unlock key]
after filling out the details it takes me to an error 404 page

Hey, I'm about to receive my V10, I just wanted to know, unlocking bootloader does cancel warranty right ? If so, relocking it (if possible) brings it back or not ? Thanks for your answer, never really care about this question with my op2 and was just wondering

I spent hours this afternoon going through the Huawei sites and could not find anything. Google only bring up the posts already here and a few others which redirect to the same 404 pages. Luckily my bootloader is already unlocked, but I find it very strange that Huawei have disabled their pages. Where to look now, I have no idea.

I'm already unlocked. I was searching for the other member. Thing is, the OP should update the thread.
Tryed to reach Honor on Facebook and Twitter. No reaction.
Any news on getting honor to respond and helping you unlocking the bootloader on the BKL-L09?
I'm based in the UK.
I tried registering on https://emui.huawei.com/
it has all sort of countries listed including the vatican but it doesn't have any European UK US countries. I decided to pick hongkong, and registered nevertheless.
The unlock bootloader link as seen on youtube video guides doesn't show up on https://emui.huawei.com/ and any direct link point to error 404.
I sent an email to [email protected] and surprisingly, as it's the only email address available on the whole website, my email bounced back.
I'm in the situation where I'd like to have the ability 1-2 years from now to unlock the bootloader without any fuss. I could even consider unlocking the bootloader and voiding warranty now for fear of this option disappearing from honor completely in the future.
But if getting an unlock code is not an option, or if it won't be an option in the future I wish there was a way to know now so I can return the phone.
Thanks

Hi,
The Xiaomi Mi A3 is an Android One phone, is an authorized Xiaomi account necessary to flash the official ROM from EDL mode when the bootloader is locked?
The Mi A1 and A2 / Lite phones also Android One, don't require an authorized account in the same case, what's the difference with the Mi A3, perhaps the elf programmer file?

Hi, I am facing similar issue as my phone is also in the fastboot mode.
Xiaomi is telling to contact their service center but in the current scenario, this is not possible.
Can you suggest how to get some OS installed so that my phone is unbricked.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
The problem is, i had never enable USB debugging. So no tool seems to be working.
The issue occured when i received an OTA update for Android 10 and my phone went into restart mode.
There it got stuck on the fastboot screen.
I dont know if this occured due to it having being connected to charger at that point of time.
Anyways, is there any alternate option considering the USB debugging is not enabled and neither is the bootloader unlocked.

Man learnt the hard way :silly:
I hardbricked my N20 by installing CPH2459 files on GN2200. I believe I didn't put dm-verity cmd in my vbmeta flash line on fatsboot.
I want to point out that if you hard brick, EDL has authentication, so there is no way to "fix" the phone and get fastboot back to recovery it all. I have spent 2-3 days on it now. Probably will see if Oneplus can rma/flash it. I have tried Qfil, MSM Download, Rombox (the screenshot on XDA show N20 but the actual application doesn't have it).
If anybody has a solution please let do me know otherwise just letting you know EDL has authentication won't let you flash thru firehose.
message from EDl using Qfil:

I bricked my MI A3 a few years back by flashing a ROM to the wrong slot (a/b)... I didn't know any better. I had to take off the glass back and jump it into EDL mode with a staple. It was tricky as you had to tap the jumper pads at the precise moment to actually get it into EDL mode. Someone on here PM'd me and I had to connect remotely with a person in Russia (seemed shady) with an authorized Xiaomi account to flash it back to stock ROM. $28 I think I paid, fortunately the guy was legit.

Have an old realme 5. Same error in qfil. Without the 'VIP is enabled part'. What I've is these two error messages
INFO: TARGET SAID: 'ERROR: Verifying signature failed with 3'
INFO: TARGET SAID: 'ERROR: Authentication of signed hash failed 0'
