Please could someone kindly show me how to remove the retail mode on my new V60 ThinQ handset.

It seems that you can't delete it without root, you can try to disable it

This worked for me for the LG V60 demo unit...I found this on the net.
1)
Follow those instructions for removal of the app,
What is not included in the above instructions, which is required fo the V60 is "disabling device admin"
So basically
1) install device drivers for LG phone that works.
2) Install Android SDK or for easier way just DL and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot
minimal_adb_fastboot_v1.4.3_setup.exe | by shimp208 for Utilities
Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware, and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.
androidfilehost.com
3) Follow instructions and learn how to run adb commands
4) disable device admin
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
to disable device admin: run commands
adb shell
am start -S com.android.settings/.Settings\$DeviceAdminSettingsActivity
uncheck retail mode admin and deactivate it. reboot from the shell with reboot.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) remove app
To uninstall Uninstall retail mode app : run commands
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.retailmode
reboot from the shell with reboot.
Demo mode locks removed
----------------------------------------------------------
I found the above instructions online. I believe it comes from Root Junky.....same person that made the video above
If you do a full reset, the retail mode gets installed again so you would need to run this same process.
Also If you want to use the playstore. I had to first ADD google account in settings. I couldn't just click on playstore and then add acct.
Have not figured out how to run some google apps like DRIVE

Did you bypass the 50% battery limit? I wonder if it's like the Note 7 where the limit is baked into the software or it's just the retail mode.

This worked great, thank you. After enabling developer tools and USB debugging, step #4 is key. In the video it is done through the security settings, but at least on my V60 they were locked by the admin, so the adb command was required.
No into trying to charge beyond 50% with the phone off, and I´ll have a perfectly functional phone for what I wanted it.
Found from another thread that the phone could be charged 100% when powered off.
To power off, one might need this code L310MC570G.
After removal, did the lg v60 have full storage (128GB or 256GB)? and did the camera work in all modes? Thanks.

Hi everyone, I got my watch 2 days ago and rooted it in the first two hours and since then keept trying different android apps on the watch and since then I managed to find a way to sideload apps without a computer and I am sharing it with you.
Note: This guide assumes you have your watch connected to your phone, your phone connected to the internet, a computer around and adb installed on the computer and some abilities of using adb commands to pull files and installing apk's and some basic linux commands like "cd".
Note 2: Links to the apps are in the 2nd post.
Note 3: List of working apps and tips in 2nd post.
Note 4: Guide to using adb from the phone and connecting the watch to a new device without a format in the 3rd post.
Here are the steps:
Install ASTRO Bluetooth Module on the phone.
Install Bluetooth file transfer on the phone.
Connect the phone to the computer and pull the ASTRO Bluetooth Module apk file from data/app.
Connect the watch to the computer (adb over bluetooth or over USB) and sideload the ASTRO Bluetooth Module you just pulled from your phone.
Open the ASTRO Bluetooth Module app on your watch and tic the OBEX FTP SERVER option.
Open the Bluetooth file transfer app on your phone and switch to the Bloueooth tab (the one with the blue Bluetooth sign).
You will see your G Watch in the Cache list, click on it.
On the list that will open click on "File Transfer Profile (FTP)" and wait for it to connect.
Now the contents of the /sdcard folder of the watch should be shown on the Bluetooth tab.
To send a file switch back to your other tab and long-press on the file you want to send and click upload.
To receive a file from your watch go to the Bluetooth tab and long-press the file you want and click Download.
In the bluetooth tab you can also fully manage your sdcard folder from your watch so you can delete, move and copy any file or folder on your watch,
Enjoy.
Also in case you want to sideload apps to your watch you first need to send them using the method above and then do this:
Install terminal Emulator on your phone and sideload it to your watch the same way you did with ASTRO Bluetooth Module above.
Sideload Minuun keyboard for wear or an other keyboard if you think you can use it.
Optional, usefull only if you have root: Install ES File Explorer on your phone and sideload it to your watch.
To install apps open Terminal Emulator on your watch and go to the folder your apk file is in using the "cd" command and then do: "pm install <appname>.apk" changing <appname> to the name of your apk file.
If you choose to install ES File Explorer you can do that much easyer by enabling root acces in it and the option to automatically install and uninstall apps.
And if you want to uninstall apps directly from your watch do this:
Open Terminal Emulator.
Issue the command: "pm list packages -3" and find the package name of the app you want to uninstall
Issue the command: "pm uninstall <packagenamehere>" replacing <packagenamehere> with the package name of the app you want to uninstall.
NOTE: Uninstalling apps using ES File Explorer does unfortunately not work because it asks if you want to uninstall the app and the buttons are not on the screen so you can't click on the "Yes" option.
Done.
Here you go guys, have fun, hope this helps someone else as much as it does help me, will also try to find a way to connect the watch to the adb daemon on the phone via bluetooth and if I manage to do that I will surely post a guide.

Astro Bluetooth Module: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.metago.astro.network.bluetooth
Bluetooth File Transfer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.medieval.blueftp
Terminal Emulator: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm
ES File Explorer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop
List of working apps:
-All the ones that the above post tells you to sideload to the watch
-The apps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/general/list-sideloaded-android-wear-apps-t2908106
-MiXplorer-better as a file explorer in my opinion because of the list view, does not have music player and text editor so you still need ES File Explorer for that, also crashes when you exit-link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523691
Tips:
-If an app you want to sideload uses holo theme it will most probably not work, I think wear has holo removed
Thanks to:
@EpicLPer for creating that thread of sideloaded working apps.
Someone managed to execute adb commands from the phone to the watch, look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-wear/development/adb-smartphone-to-android-wear-t2987568
Also on this thread someone managed to connect the watch to a different phone without a factory reset on an older android wear version:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and.../app-reset-wear-client-switch-phones-t3058962
But it's not that easy anymore, that you now need to do is:
First execute the (adb shell "pm clear com.google.android.gms && reboot") command
And then after the reboot execute the (adb shell am start -a android.bluetooth.adapter.action.REQUEST_DISCOVERABLE) command to be able to connect your phone
I have also made shell scripts to do that directly on the watch using terminal emulator and will upload them soon.
Great stuff sir!

Sorry I was without a PC for a week and didn't see your message, updates on what are you asking about?
If you are asking about more apps I didn't really get more apps working (android wear is just missing too many things), only some video players but they break the app "Wear Mini Launcher" for some reason, and if you are asking about using adb via bluetooth to debug the watch from the phone that's also something I didn't get working and I did try all the ideas I had.

If you would have read the whole post you would have seen that it only needs root to install apps using ES File Explorer but unfortunately after the 5.1 update the "pm install" command doesn't seem to work anymore (with or without root) it just gives a "FAILED_INVALID_URI" error.
Other news is that someone on the wear general forum actually managed to run adb over bluetooth so you can now install apps from your phone directly using adb instead (but it does require root on your phone) I will post the link in the 3rd post soon.

Do you need root on your watch to execute the "adb install" command command from the PC?
Before being updated to Nougat on my Amazon Moto G4, I was happy to run the command:
Code:
pm disable com.amazon.phoenix
To remove those annoying lockscreen ads. Since the update hit, that no longer was a choice, as now I received an error about user permissions. Being that the ads really do annoy me, I set out to find a way to disable or altogether remove the package from the system. It only took a couple of hours digging through pm commands and XDA forums to find a way to completely remove the application that displays those ads once and for all.
So without further adue:
Either open an ADB shell or run a terminal command on the phone itself. At the shell prompt (athene:/) type the following:
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.phoenix
And that's it. A reboot should remove any remnants but it seems to work right away in most cases.
I'll go ahead and assume that this trick works for other Amazon Ad Enabled devices unless I hear otherwise.

Does it work on locked bootloaders?
Yes. AFAIK all Amazon G4 Prime's are locked bootloaders. This requires no root, nothing but a simple adb shell command!
Edit, Don't works.
How does it not work?
Thank you very much...
Works perfectly !!!!!!
I used this in my Moto G4 Prime version(XT1625)(locked bootloader, no root) after reboot i notice that is working this method.
1. Open cmd, and put my phone in debug mode. Plug my phone through usb to my computer.
2. In cmd put adb shell
3. put
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.phoenix
4. Reboot
5. Be Happy!
Waiting to see if the apps install again
It works! I was doing it wrong, thanks for this friend! Now only root is missing! xD
Could someone give the command to uninstall the amazon widget app and the amazon photos app? Thank you

Hi, all. Just wanted to say that this worked perfectly on my G4. My build number is NPJS25.93-14-4 (running Nougat) and the device is at the March 1, 2017 Security patch level.
I used Minimal ADB and Fastboot on a Windows 10 box. Enabled debugging on the phone, connected it, ran adb shell and entered the command as above. Big thanks to Jatan1986 as well for the additional commands which also worked great (I didn't uninstall everything but that list is terrific). Rebooted and the apps I uninstalled were gone. No more ads.
Oh, I did not do the force stop on the apps first. I performed just the steps above.
Much thanks for this method and post.

I have seen the response to this method and it seems quite good.
I would like to know if this can affect any future update of Android from Amazon. I am looking to get Android 7.1.1 or Android O in the future and do not know if this change may cause any issue.
Thanks in advance.

Pura vida!
I had a bit of trouble getting it to work on my Moto G4, just updated to Nougat. When I run the following code in an android terminal, it does not return an error, but pulls up a new line almost instantly.
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.phoenix
The ads were still there, even after restarting
When I run the following while connected with adb, it returns "Success"
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.amazon.phoenix
The ads were still there, but after restarting they were gone (Whoo!!)
I would really like to bypass the lockscreen entirely as I don't like to have a password, but they disabled that since that would bypass the ads. Pretty annoying
I've had a Motorola G4 Amazon Prime edition for sometime now and I was easily able to hide the package that displayed the lock screen ads (com.amazon.phoenix) soon after purchase. Unfortunately, when the Nougat update came rolling around, that hack no longer did the trick. So I spent a couple of hours searching through docs and trying different commands, in doing so I found a way to completely disable any and all packages installed on any Android device, system or carrier/manufacturer bloatware.
**Step by Step**
1. Install USB drivers for your Device
2. Download and Install ADB tools
3. Enable[ Developer Options](http://wccftech.com/enable-developer-options-android-nougat/) and [USB Debugging](https://technosamigos.com/enable-usb-debugging-on-android-nougat-phones/)
4. Find a good USB cable, plug it into your computer and then to your device. When the pop-up appears asking you to authorize the device, allow it.
5. Open a command prompt (cmd in windows) and type:
adb devices
6. This should return the ID of your device. If not, please go back and retrace your steps.
7. Now type:
adb shell
8. Use the following commands to find the apps you want to disable (replace 'amazon' with the manufacturer, i.e. 'samsung')
adb shell cmd package list packages | grep 'amazon
9. This should give you a new prompt, something to the effect of (device-model):/ - here type the following:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 <name of package>
This should return 'Success' at which point the package has been removed!
This has been tried on about half a dozen devices and it works on every single one, including the LG G6, Samsung S8, Google Pixel (Removed System Applications!)
Hope this helps folks out there that are looking to get as clean of an Android experience as possible, good luck!
And how to revert a single package removed with this method?
Please don't say factory reset. I mean, the package is there in the system partition. How I make it available to the user again?
Replying to my self and to the history. Xda user Vordx, found a proper way.
"adb shell cmd package install-existing <package name>"
Debloated after getting the Pie update, and I'm having issues installing apps. Doesn't matter if it's the Play Store, Galaxy Store, or any other method, they just hang on "installing" forever. Problem goes away if I go into the settings>apps>reset app preferences, but this of course re-enables everything and I have to setup a lot of my apps again. I know I basically need to go through my list one by one and figure out what is causing this, but was hoping since I won't have time to do that for a few days, if I posted my list here someone might be able to pinpoint the problem. I had these (and more) disabled while on Oreo, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Any help is appreciated!
Apps I disabled:
ANT + DUT (com.dsi.ant.sample.acquirechannels)
ANT Radio service (com.dsi.ant.service.socket)
ANT+ HAL service (com.dsi.ant.server)
ANT+ Plugins Service (com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplus)
Bixby Service (com.samsung.android.bixby.service)
Call (com.samsung.android.incallui)
com.sec.phone

Got some time this morning and figured it out. Turns out you can't disable Device Security with the Pie update or things get screwy. I've got that disabled on my Note10+ and I believe it was disabled on my Note9, but on the Tab S3 it's a no-no it seems.
So don't disable Device Security (com.samsung.android.sm.devicesecurity) and you should be fine.
Can you share the steps to disable all these apps? I only have a Chrome OS and Linux computer.

I'm not sure how to do it with those OS's exactly as I don't have a linux machine and haven't tried this on my chromebook. But I do know it's possible, you use terminal I believe. I use command prompt on windows (from within the platform tools folder of the android SDK). Don't even need that installed, I actually just have the platform tools folder on a flash drive I run my bat files from usually.
Contained in my bat files though are my commands to disable apps, enable apps, clear data, change screen resolutions, or whatever I'm doing.
Make sure your device has USB debugging turned on in developer settings. Then the command I use to make sure it's connected after plugged in and the drivers install is "adb devices" without the quotes. Should come back with a number that's unique to your device. If that checks out, you can do all the other stuff.
To disable an app I use these three commands per app, it's two extra steps compared to most people, but it clears out the data for the apps before disabling them.
adb shell pm enable --user 0 "app package name here"
adb shell pm clear "apk package name here"
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 "package name here"
No quotes of course. And just repeat those lines for each app you want to disable. Grab the package names using the app Apk Analyzer by Martin Styk.
Hope this helps, if not feel free to ask and I can always boot up linux from a USB or try it out on ChromeOS.
One more thing I'll add is that you may want to leave gallery3d enabled if you use certain s-pen gestures like smart select.

You need to have adb and fastboot installed on your Linux machine. Most distributions should have this packages within their repositories. So you can use your packetmanager.

I actually used Package Disabler Pro app and disabled everything you did and more easily!
Hi,
I want to reinstall a Motorola firmware app.
I uninstalled the firmware a year ago on my Moto G8+ with adb using the following command:
"pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.faceunlock"
Now when I want to install the app from the Play Store I can't. I get the following error message:
"You cannot install this app because another user has already installed an incompatible version on this device."

I already tried a few things I found in other threads and forums but nothing really worked. I'm a single user, however the guest function allows me to find the Moto face unlock App as an installed app. In settings I can't find any option that allows me to "uninstall the app for all users" or to "reinstall" or "restore" it. Factory Reset is not an option for me.
I was thinking about maybe reinstalling the package via adb for the main user again, if that's possible? I only have little knowledge about adb.
Has somebody an idea or command I could try out?
Thanks in advance
@sokrvtxs
The ADB command you used removed the the mentioned system-app ( leaving its data untouched ) only for user 0, that's the current user, what means that the deleted app still remains available for other users of the Android device - it didn't get removed from device's storage space at all. That's basically a good thing because you can easily restore an app if you uninstall it by mistake or need it later.
This brings the system-app back:
Code:
adb devices
adb shell "cmd package install-existing com.motorola.faceunlock"
adb reboot
If your Android is rooted then you can update the system-app in question
Code:
adb devices
adb push <PATH_TO_UPDATE_APK> /data/local/temp
adb shell "pm install -r /data/local/tmp/<UPDATE_APK>"
adb shell "rm /data/local/tmp/<UPDATE_APK>"
adb reboot
Thank you so much, my phone is not rooted. The first code worked and my issue is solved completely. This helped me a lot.
