Android Tablet - Zenithing Zepad ZTICS - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
First tablet ZEPAD ZTICS and old one at that but brand new never used about 7 years old
Runs Android 4.03
Have it up and running on wifi etc.
A beginners question when I insert a usb stick into tablet it now comes up with all the files on usb. What is the procedure to open a program, say this one,
ArduinoDroid - Arduino IDE 3.8.1 APK Download by Anton Smirnov | Android APK
Download ArduinoDroid - Arduino IDE.apk android apk files version 3.8.1 Size is 44527349 md5 is 0cdac36442443cdaa965007cbb202450 By Anton Smirnov This Version Need Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 - 4.0.4 API level 15, NDK 8 or higher, We Index Version From this file.Version code 62 equal Version...
android-apk.org
and to install it on the tablet. That is to trasnsfer the file onto the tablet under programs or software etc and then open the file to install.
Have not been able to locate a manual anywhere.
Thankyou
Charles Harris

[Q] Cisco Dx80 - Android Based General Firmware

Dear Team,
I'm quite new in this Forum and I'm sorry If this 3d is not in the right section
I'm going to "play" with my New Cisco Dx80 device, I would like to install a Standard Android Firmware.
At the moment there is an installtion of Cisco Customized Android 4.1.1 .
The Devices is based on ARM Cortex A9 @ 1.5Ghz with GPU PowerVr SGX544.
Using EsFile Explorer, I found in /system/app several apk including Galaxy4.apk, Galaxy4.odex ; seems that Cisco take the firmware somewhere (from galaxyS4?) and customized it according their needs; also the Couple A9+SGX544 seems like the same of several Galaxy S4 hardware.
The question is : there is a way to install "general" Android firmware release (rooted) that is compliant with the describer hardware ?
Thanks a lot.
Cisco DX80 Device
Did you ever find a way to put a generic Android release on this device ? I'm in the same situation with a DX80 and would just like to get a more current version of Android for it.
Thanks

Can someone modify APK file for Android 4.4+ to run on Android 4.2.2?

Hello, can someone modify this app so then work on Android 4.2.2 (SDK Api 17)?
Da Player 2.21 (download apk link) - https://apkpure.com/da-player-video-and-live-stream-player/com.daplayer.android.videoplayer
The app requires a minimum version Android 4.4 (api 19) but my old tablet runs on Android 4.2.2 (api 17).
I have an old Prestigio PMT5487_3G and I'm limited with Android 4.2.2. Infact the tablet is not so bad, it has 8" display, 1GB Ram and 16GB rom and 4 core cpu MT6582 at 1300Mhz. But there is no software support by Prestigio. I believe with these specs, even some custom Android 5 would run smoothly but also there is no custom roms for this tablet
Please help me, just I want to watch online streams with DA Player but I can't.
Thanks in advance!

No one is going to do it for you on this forum, you may ask for steps on how to do it but you have to do it yourself, that's one of the forum's principles.
Search for a guide on app development or modification.
Try extracting the apk.
Once extracted, open AndroidManifest.xml with a text editor.
Look out for minSdkVersion=19.
Change 19 to 17 and save it.
Compress the folder as zip.
Install ZipSigner app from Play Store.
Enter the path of your zip file in input.
Change the extension of your output file in the output field path from .zip to .apk and begin the process.
Try installing the new apk.
If it doesn't work, look for tutorials on how to do it yourself.
HIT THANKS IF FOUND USEFUL

The attached should work but, there's no guarantees that it will.
This will be a One Time Deal Only...
Enjoy!

I DO NOT provide support via PM unless asked/requested by myself. PLEASE keep it in the threads where everyone can share.

Emulate Newer Android (Marshmallow) on old Android (Jelly Bean) ?

I have a still reasonable 1,5 Ghz quad-core device with 1 Gb RAM and 32Gb internal memory that is stuck with Android 4.2.2. There are some apps (nothing CPU intensive) that I cannot install anymore because they require newer Android versions.
Is there any way I can emulate a newer android version?
Some virtualization app like Parallel Spaces but that allows me to virtualize a separate android version instead of just cloning the current one?
Hi! Can you send me theJelly bean 4.2 update and mcu files please?

It is unlikely to work without knowing your model. But for my BQ with mediatek MT6589 Turbo this is the firmware link: https://s3.amazonaws.com/tabletfirm..._Elcano2_QuadCore_1.0.0_20131219-15.50-FW.zip
As alternative, download this custom rom: http://droidcustom.blogspot.com/2015/10/romofficial442-mystic-os-for.html

Old Android Apps

Is it possible to get old Android Apps for Android 2.3 ( gingerbread )? I need the old VLC to play some .m3u InternetRadio Files and one of a Kodi Remote App, like Kore, Yatse. I was searching the Internet but I didnt found anything to get the old Apps.
If you go to a trusted source such as apkmirror, you can look for previous versions of apks. I believe that some of the apps you are mentioning weren't created at the time or made to support gingerbread.
You could try installing a lollipop or marshmallow custom rom to get access to most latest apps. Marshmallow is currently the minimum api, though lollipop still had great support up until recently
Android Gingerbread is from 2010, by doing some google searching I found out that:
-VLC's android app was first launched in 2014, so you won't be able to get that for gingerbread.
-Yatse was released in 2011, so a primitive build might be available, but it wouldn't be too useful.
-The XMBC Official remote app was launched before yatse, so a primitive build of that may also be available.
The point is, Android 2.3 is heavily outdated and long gone. If you mention your phone's model here then I can walk you through the process of installing a custom rom, and also find a suitable rom for you if you need any help in that category.
But I have used VLC and XMBC remote apps on my Mobile, with Android Gingerbread, 2 years ago. But I cant find the apps anymore.
Do you have an link for Anddroid Marshmallow or Lollipop? My mobile is a Samsung GT-S5300.
Android 4 is available with some googling, but has some bugs.
My bad regarding the vlc apk. It was released in 2014, but is compatible with android 2.1+, let me give you a link to the latest stable version for android 2.3:
VLC for Android 3.0.13 (arm-v7a) (Android 2.3+) APK Download by Videolabs - APKMirror

Yatse and Kore are both android 4.0+
You could try this xmbc remote app apk:

The XBMC package works well. But On the www.apkmirror.com site, VLC is not available
