Hello,
A friend gave me his Lenovo tab 10 X605F tablet that his university gave him.
I plan to root it change the theme, boot animation and return it to him.
But there is a problem: I can't change the startup animation of the university.
Each time I try to change the animation, either manually or with a "bootanimations" application, the system crashes
I tried to trace the problem and I found that the media/system folder can't be touched without the tablet crashing completely, it's like a safety feature, but I don't know how to remove it.
I tried to see if there are any services running in the background that prevent me from removing this application but I couldn't find anything.
Do you have any idea where this come from?
PS:
The tablet is root, has twrp and magisk

I just got my Atrix yesterday, I seem to have the issue where it wont successfully log in to google talk which also means that I cant download apps. I've tried making a new account which also failed to work. Are there any ideas out there for how I could fix it?
Can anybody help me?
I had the same problem and figured out that it was Droid Wall keeping Gtalk from connecting. Make sure Talk can access the network freely.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Real solution

After cloning a samsung gio s5660 through a CWM backup I started experiencing the same issue. Heres What REALLY happens.
Google authenticates you in their services trought unique "keys" which are automatically generated upon system installation / factory reset, so if you clone your device or install a rom which has these "keys" pre-installed, obviously, your rom will only autheticate you in google servers if your phone is the only one using the service at that given time... Upon failure, your phone assumes to be the one who's wrong, and google servers won't autheticate you until you either tell your phone he is not wrong (by deleting the data from play store, which resets its status and errors) or you change the "keys". SO, what can we learn from this? deleting the play store data IS a temporary solution, and won't solve a thing. Let's delete the duplicated keys shall we?
Navigate with your favourite folder explorer on your android (I use X-plore, you can tell me anything, there's nothing better) to the following directory:
- "(root)/data/data/com.google.android.gsf"
Now you have two real options, either you may delete the all folder, which was the perfect solution for me, since my rom is prepared to re-create it upon phone restart and new keys will be generated, OR, you might want to just delete the contents of app_sslcache inside com.google.android.gsf whish are THE KEYS I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ALL TIME, YEEEIHHHH and reboot your phone...
Needless to say, take a nandroid backup before you do any of this...
Thank me later
For those who remember me from symbian s60v3 phones, yes, it is me, I'm back, and I've moved to the droid world, it's much better indeed
Let me just say, I have no idea why this thread was moved or resurrected. Whoever did so was about a year and a half too late. Please close/delete this thread.
This thread relates to desired startup apps, flagged to start are not doing so, or are intermittent. Android o/s 4.1
Included in these are wheresmydroid, gentle incringing, clipper, dropbox and so on...........
Sometimes some will start (its unreliable). For example, at the moment K9 mail is starting at boot, before it wasnt. Other apps showing as start at boot are not doing so; EG clipper, but if I open clipper its possible that at next reboot it will auto start.
The phone is not rooted, I have gone through some of the apps by removing them from startup and enabing them, but seems not to make difference.
BTW I use Optimize Toolbox as startup manage utility.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Regards,
Al.
Hello, i am using NC5 build for a while. It's rooted.
I noticed, after deleting Verizon's bloatware, after every single phone restart my notification panel goes default order, My Files app goes default too (using S5 app) and my widget's Undefieing Demong.apk goes stops working.
So every restart i make, i have to set everything back, install apps again, set witdget again....
Is it possible to fix this problem? I had never had this problem. I would like to fix it without factory reset.
Thanks for replies
P.S in topic' name i made mistake. After restart, not after update

This is the wrong place. You need to post this in the rom thread you are on or the Q and A forum.
Hey guys. I have been trying to unlock my htc desire 320 and it appears to be not possible to do so at this time. Google searches pretty much confirm that. Sooooo like a moron I try iroot and framaroot. Iroot said successful and rebooted. It updated the android system on boot. I also had a very real looking system update appear a day before which also did the same thing. My friend with same phone and network didnt receive any such thing. Sketchy business amirite. I have discovered a hidden folder on my root directory which will reappear after deleting it without even rebooting. The folders name is d101m0o7bi1le. It has over 300 sub dirs. I have deleted system cache, and tried factory reset from recovery mode but it will not delete any apps or data. I would like to know how to restore the original rom or how else I could perhaps fix this hook. Thanks for any reply!
Hi all,
My international galaxy S3 is running on ArhciDroid 3.0.2 which is an amazing ROM. However, since the update of the Google Play Service it keeps force closing every 5 seconds, which is just really annoying. A fix is to put the location on device only, but this doesn't work for me: I also want to use networks etc.
A permanent fix is this one: https://twitter.com/arter97_dev/status/603495555734503424?s=09 Replacing libjavacore.so with another version. (Also successful on Nexus 6: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...lay-services-force-close-temp-t3115077/page13)
The first time I tried this I used ES File Explorer and when replacing it the phone rebooted immediately, but was stuck on bootlogo. Then I tried Total Commander: replace ok, and no more FC, however after reboot stuck on boot logo.
Then tried again with ES File Explorer: renaming old file, copying new file, setting all permissions, removing old file. This gave errors, until I cleared the cache of Google Play Service. No more errors, everything worked as it should. However, after reboot stuck again.
So apparently in my case the fix works, but doesn't last after reboot. Anybody knows what happens/can help me out?
