Pocophone F1 Hard Bricked or Dead? - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I was using my phone like normal when it froze on me. I shut down my phone as I usually do when it freezes using the Power off + Vol Down. After turning the phone off, it refused to turn back on again, the light indicator for charging also does not work anymore when plugging in the charger. I did a bit of research and found out that it is possibly bricked. The way they suggested to fix this issue is to flash the phone with the stock rom. So here are the things I've tried:
1. Using SP Flash Tool (not really sure how this one is supposed to work, it is asking me for a "Scatter Loading File" which to my knowledge, isn't part of the ROM file I downloaded from xiaomi.)
2. Booting into EDL mode by shorting the pins and Using the official Mi Flash Tool (This one barely worked for me, it got into the process of flashing but asked me for an authorized Mi Account, after a few hours of research I found out that you can't get one.)
3. Changing the original firehose file with the modified version to bypass the authentication (Still asked me to authenticate)
4. Other Flash Tools (Qualtek, MiracleBox, Qualcomm Flash tool, etc. All failed)
Not really sure what to do at this point, I am unable to launch into fastboot or recovery, phone is completely unresponsive. The only thing that is giving me hope is that the phone is detected in the device manager of my pc as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3). Is the phone dead or is it just bricked, all answers will be highly appreciated, Thanks in Advance

Take phone to authorized service center and let them try to fix it.

Well it is kind of the only possible way because Xiaomi locked down the EDL mode and render a phone truly as useful as a brick, when bricked, unless you sign in with a authorized mi account. Also 99 percent of time the people online claiming that they can fix the device, it is a scam.
However Xiaomi store will probably not fix the phone (it is 3 years old) for the OP (original poster) and try to convince him to move on to new Xiaomi phones because, Xiaomi will earn more...

1000000 percent this will work because by replacing the motherboard, your corrupt data and chips (fried EMMC flash storage) (and snapped snapdragon) will be replaced.

Exactly same thing happened with my Poco F1 on 20th Aug. It comes up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3) when connecting to my laptop.
What would be the cost for getting motherboard replaced? I want to be able to use my phone with minimal effect to its state before the issue happened. Want to avoid any resets.

I'm afraid to say this but i think that your phone was stuck in EDL mode. here in my country the technicians offer remote EDL flash.. no success no payment transaction..

[HELP] Redmi 3 Pro Bricked/Dead [HELP]

Hello guys!
I'm kinda freakin' out here.
Here's the story:
I bought this amazing Redmi 3 Pro from China, and after waiting for 33 days, it arrived. I knew that it's important change the ROM that came with the device, so... I changed it. I'm from Brazil, so I needed a ROM with Portuguese-BR language and at least, stable. When I was going to change the ROM, my device just turn off and never turned on again.
OBS: The drivers are installed. It recognizes as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", so I think that it's on EDL Mode.
OBS2: I tested flash on: Win7(x64) and Win10(x64). Neither worked.
OBS3: Every time, I get the error "Reached End of File.(0x80070026: Receiving Hello Packet.)
OBS4: I downloaded several ROMs, several versions of MiFlash (including the Beta version) and nothing passed from the error above.
OBS5: The device doesn't turn on, doesn't light on the LED, doesn't vibrate etc.
I believe that the problem resides on the missing two files: MPRG8936.mbn and 8936_msimage.mbn.. If anyone have those files, please, share here.
Thank's for those who can help! ^^

You need to plug the battery to other redmi 3 and charge it
or charge it directly with 1A 3.9V (risk of damage)

you do not need to charge the phone before flashing. i had the same problem. connect your phone to computer and after some minutes (may be up to 20 minutes) in device manager you will the phone as..... qdloader.... 9008 and every thing is ready to flash according the instructions.

The computer recognizes the device exactly like this "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM20)"
When i'm going to flash, an error appears, "Reached End of File.(0x80070026: Receiving Hello Packet.)".
Using the MiFlash Beta, the error says "Coudn't communicate with port COM20"
I wanna play pokémon go :c

If you're talking about the solution through the guide for Redmi 3, I just did it and nothing worked. On MiFlash 2015.10.28.0 appeared the error "0x800700aa" Something like "Current Resource current being used" and when I click on refresh and try it again, the same old error appears: "0x80070026: Receiving Hello Packet"
On MiFlash Beta, the error "Can not read from port COM4" still appears.
Just updating.
Using this method, it worked: http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=283484&page=5#pid5510469
I was making some mistakes, but doing it properly totaly works!

"no sign of life after flashing baseband"

Hello everyone, so the other day I put my sim on my v10 just for a change. This v10 is rooted with elimators kernel with twrp.3.0.2. Anyway I had no radio at all. The bars showed but no activity there. I went to about phone and found that all information about the phone identity was gone , imei, service, baseband unknown, etc. I wiped to system and started fresh with lgups and tot. Files re-rooted the phone and to no avail. It still had none of the information avalable . so it thought maybe I was missingoing the baseband so I foolishly flashed one though twrp after it flashed it was light out,, power button nothing, the phone literally went cold, colder then I've ever felt. it. It felt dead for reals.........I did have it show up in device manager with Husb....bla bla... the it went to quamcom..... bla..bla... and now the computer don't see it any longer. Unless it just got sick and tired of me shoving the USB cord in and out of the socket and deactivated the USB port.... I know there is a lot of stuff out there as far as mega bricks, if anyone out there can get me out of this ,it would be awesome... my last brick with this phone was there was no root yet and I almost got though a combination of software .etc... that took me three months to Un brick it.. this brick is even worst because of No sign of life. So I'm open to use this phone as a Guinny pig for some new stuff If anyone out there's got a solution to try...... thanks

Sorry for your brick and if you can get into that Qualcomm USB mode again you may be OK, see here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmo...brick-phone-h901-qualcomm-9008-t3440359/page7
The issue may be due to the anti roll back 'feature' lg gave us, if it finds firmware from a lower version you can brick or could just be a mismatch between radio and bootloader
Neither are good but you may be in luck with tungkick's method
so here is an update date, I am back to my device manger seeing the phone under Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, i have been able to install qualcomm drivers and qualcomm's QPST config program does see the phone on COM port 5, I guess now my hold up is i need the manufactures firmware which im not sure i can get, so again im stuck i guess unless there someone out there with those files

Hard bricked, help please :')

Stupid excuse, but I was under the influence and decided to flash PE on my phone and messed the A/B slot choice, so got stuck in fastboot and it didn't boot into recovery anymore no matter how much I erased and flashed it to any of both slots. More stupid decisions kept coming, and I erased EVERYTHING, system, vendor, modem, etc... pushed recovery via fastboot again but now it won't even go to fastboot, screen shows nothing, and Windows detects the device as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008. Did some research and apparently phone is in Qualcomm Emergency Download Mode. Found this https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-19721.html and apparently it's possible to extract mmcblk0.img file from a similar device. Does anybody know if this will work ? Also MiFlash keeps showing " cannot receive hello packet " and then times out in like 19 seconds and device is unresponsive to everything and anything... Help please :')

Apparently it's quite hard to get an authorized account to be able to flash in EDL mode indeed, trying to authorize mine, guess all that I can do is wait or go to s-unlock.com, reports of it working all around, really appreciate the help guys...

Appreciate the tip but I hate that EDL is locked and kinda want to go headstrong against it and get this done without paying a dime, phone is my property after I bought it, I don't see why any part of it should be locked and inaccessible to me as its owner ... just hate the way this has been handled by Xiaomi, feels greedy and wrong to me... Really appreciate the heads-up though, maybe it'll code to that eventually

Well, we are lucky that we can unlock the bootloader without any hassle, unlike many other Android phones out there. Xiaomi "locked" EDL mode probably because of some sellers, who bought cheaper phones (be it MIUI or Android One), swapped the ROM and re-sold them at higher price. Ordinary folks do not need to use EDL, if service center needs to use it, it will be free of charge. If someone's willing to unlock the bootloader and mess up with the phone, he should face the consequences if something goes wrong. It's not manufacturer's fault. Personally I'm glad that Xiaomi did not take the route of Nokia or Huawei, where you can't unlock the bootloader at all (at least not without a paid service).
- download and register MI FLASH PRO https://miflashpro.com/
- download Fastboot ROM https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/laurel/
- download (Mi A3) prog_firehose_ddr_unbrick.elf https://www.leakite.com/xiaomi-programmer-firehose-files/
- check device manager - ports: qualcomm hs-usb qdloader 9008 (com3) - device is in EDL mode
- replace ROM/images/prog_firehose_ddr.elf with downloaded prog_firehose_ddr_unbrick.elf - fix for "Your Account is Unauthorized for this operation"
- open Mi Flash Pro/Mi Flash
- select path to ROM (can not have any space)
- select clean all
- select flash
if you are getting "cannot receive hello packet" or "cannot read from port com" it's probably EDL timeout or driver issue.
- unplug usb from phone, push power button for 40 sec, plug usb back to phone, refresh and flash
just pushing power button and waiting for disconnect/reconnect wasn't working..
just unplug/plug usb wasn't working..

[Q] How to repair hard bricks?

Hello,
I root a lot of phones and would like to have a way of unbricking my phone if it's hard bricked. By "hard bricked" I mean a phone that will not boot into Download/fastboot mode nor recovery mode. I know OnePlus has a special MSM download tool for this but what about other phones? I know that EDL mode can be used to recover from a hard brick but is this mode on Qualcomm varients of Samsung and Pixel phones? When I research about it all the phones that it talked about are Xioami phones and I don't have any Xioami phones. Also what about Exynos devices? I heard there is an Exynos USB mode for unbricking Exynos devices but how do I boot into this mode or use it? The same way as using EDL mode? Should I buy an EDL cable? Or should I get something else?
Assuming it's not a motherboard failure, a few phones can be revived with a USB Jig, a tiny device that plugs into the USB port and puts the phone into Download Mode to reinstall the stock firmware.

Your very welcome @JJcoder. I once had a Soft/hard bricked Sammy (dm-verity and a drk fail). I tried mt TWRP backups and flashing the factory firmware to no avail. Long story short, I finally fixed it but it was time consuming and frustrating (lol) but on the bright side I did learn alot in the process. Hope you fix your phone and best of luck

How To Guide How to unbrick the realme GT 2 Pro

So, there's a lot of people sending me PM, most asking how to unbrick the GT2Pro. To make things easy I'll try to explain the basics here...
The good news is that the GT2Pro is pretty much unbrickble, unless you mod the hardware you can always bring the phone back to normal thanks to the EDL mode. The EDL mode connect direct to the chipset, even if the battery runs out completely.
The bad news is that you'll probably have to spend some money.
There's two ways to flash the phone via EDL mode, with QFIL or MSM Download Tool.
The QFIL is free, but it is very buggy, you can try it, but it probably won't work. I don't remember very much how to use QFIL, but I do remember that you'll need to extract the files of .ofp, select the right ones in the QFIL, change some settings and try to flash... And you'll probably get some error... Mine most of the time was "Firehose error" and "Sahara error"... I tried diferent versions of QFIL, diferent configs, tons of tweaking.. Didn't work.
The MSM Download Tool is flawless, but you have to login to access the software and only developers, official repair or resellers have access, luckly there are a lot of people who sell the login. Well, you'll need to get the login at leat untill the realme release a patched version of MSM for GT2Pro.
To login into MSM there's two ways, the login itself or using a Loader, most of the time you'll get the code to use the Loader, you can use the code only once.
So...
-Get the Realme Login Tool 2.0, MSM Download Tool 2.0.67 and the .ofp of your phone region and put all in the same folder..
-Turn off your antivirus or allow the MSM to transpassing it..
-Run the Login Tool as a admin, put the OTP code..
-In the MSM select the .otp file..
-Connect the phone to the PC and turn on the EDL mode..
-To enter the EDL mode Hold Volume Up + Down at same time, if the phone battery is completely dried out connect the phone to PC, hold the Power button for a long time and wait about 4 or 5 minutes to get a minimum charge to enter EDL mode..
-Then just click Start, if you get some error select the option in the top right corner "Standard something" or "Default something" I think... I don't remember..
Don't forget that for the PC to recognize the phone in EDL mode you'll need the right Windows driver, the Windows recognize as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" most of the time. You find the driver easily on the internet.
I have all the files needed, but it's not here right now with me.. When I get it I'll upload here.
If the Admin allows (so you guys ask him) I'll put here the number of the cheapest guy to get the OTP code, I got the code for $2 and he accepts PayPal. There's people who do all the job via TeamViewer too, but generally it's more expensive and you can't get access to MSM. If you are messing up with the GT2Pro, flashing, tweaking, changing configs, etc, just get access to MSM and don't close the app, then if you brick the phone just flash again... And again... And again...
You guys can also pressure realme to release a patched version of MSM Download Tool for GT2Pro...
Good luck
Cheers
----------------
So these are the files... I think that's all... If I remember others I'll upload them...
Maybe it's a silly question, but have you tried loading prog_firehose_ddr.elf in QFIL?

Yeah.. The .elf and .mbn ... It didn't work.
Though trading is not permitted on XDA, but OP wants to help Realme GT 2 Pro users, as many users are even paying upto 10 USD for fixing their device due to absence of official download tool . So He should be permitted to share contact info of cheap code provider.
I had to pay $25 a couple weeks ago to get mine fixed, it would be much better if we can have a cheaper or free alternative.

Yeah... The best shot is to pressure realme to release a patched version of MSM like they have for other phones or pressure them to update their Flash Tool for GT2Pro.
When using the MSM tool to flash will it recognize the nv-id of my phone and automatically pull and merge the correct super images from the firmware ofp or does that need to be done manually before flashing?
Ok idk what I am doing wrong here. Everytime I try to flash with MSM Tool I get an error that says "Failed to get NV Code:"
Could this be because the realme server is offline?
What will happen if I select the "Use Default NV" box?
When I click it a popup comes up and says "Default NV (MEA) will be used if this tool cannot get NV from server. Continue?"
How did you get access to MSM tool?
By using the realme login tool and an OTP
edit: Yeah alright I don't get it. I flashed the phone with the MSM tool back to A.17 and the bootloader is still unlocked and still will not boot and I am not getting the A18 update either. Is this just impossible to fix?
can you please elaborate regarding "By using the realme login tool and an OTP"

The OP posted the realme login tool that can be used to gain access to the MSM tool. Download your firmware and extract the zip file and move the realme login tool into the folder containing the MSM and ofp files then open the tool and type the OTP/one-time password (there are plenty of people who sell them but XDA only allows sharing free and open source solutions). This will open the MSM tool and allow you to flash.
I was in total shock, I didn't find a solution, even the support didn't help me, they ignored my emails.......
Until I found a guy who helped me on Telegram @Fixteambd for a nominal sum of only $10 I'll confirm he deserves the money!!
managed to get out of the RMX3300 brick in less than 20 minutes
My 3300 bricked flashing global rom, it does not respond to any buttons or USB. Nothing happens at all. Any ideas on how to revive it?
Hello, so you say you can use MSM Download Tool even with a dead battery but even when you open the program it says to ensure you have enough battery. Now, I have paid a guy to try and fix my soft bricked GT 2 pro with this program but cmd is not letting him do anything due to the battery levels and MSM keeps getting an error and I'm assuming it's also because of battery levels.. is there hope for me? Would anyone be able to help please?? I'm getting desperate at this point

I believe you gonna have to open the device and unplug the battery for it to work, not 100% sure if it's the only way to do it but if you left if changing for an hour or 2 and still can't flash with MSM I'm guessing the only way is to open the device and unplug the battery, were you able to put it in EDL mode without opening it?
I left it charging overnight the problem is that it doesn't recognise it as being plugged so it's actually not charging at all. I was thinking of opening it up and "manually" charging the battery and I've seen a charging board on eBay to charge batteries connecting the flex directly to it but 1) I wasn't sure if that would make it work and 2) I wanted to make sure there were no other options before opening the phone up. I've seen you can potentially charge if you're able to boot twrp and using that recovery but I can't find anywhere how to do that with a GT 2 pro so I don't even know if that's an option... Thank you for your reply by the way

dude, it's hard brick, you have to short test Point to access EDL Mode, after that MSM Flash
Yep, that's what I had to do in the end, but the good news is that it worked and I have a working phone again, the bad news is that I damaged the power flex cable opening it up so next project is to replace it, although I'm still using it every day and I don't seem to miss the button. I can lock it with double tap and take screen shots with the three fingers gesture. Wish me luck with the replacement when it finally arrives from AliExpress!
Somebody let me know where I can get cheap OTP code for Realme Login Tool 2.0 (RLT2) for flash Realme GT2 Pro RMX3300, RMX3301.
