USB3.0 port on Q+ TVBox - Android Stick & Console AllWinner based Computers

Hi,
Does anyone check whether the 'blue' USB3.0 port on Q+ is actually running as USB3 ? I have a Buffalo USB HDD that has a LED which will display Blue for USB3.0 and Green for USB2.0. When I plug it into the USB3 port on Q+, the LED is only showing a Green instead of blue light. I wonder whether this USB3.0 is also a fake USB3.0 ? Anyone tested it out? Or how do I verify the hardware is indeed comes with USB3.0 ?
Tks.

Self built USB Host cable: Questions

I built a USB host cable:
I disassembled the normal PC-> Archos cable and added an additional cable that makes it USB Host cable.
Description:
http://beyondthekeeboard.wordpress....-android-pt-2-making-your-own-usb-host-cable/
I now have:
Micro USB-B to USB-A-male-Hostcable
and
USB-A female to USB-A female adapter
I plugged in three mice:
Logitech MX500 (LED on)
Logitech M-UAG120 (LED on)
Microsoft Intellimouse optical (LED OFF)
Unfortunately I cant see a mouse on the screen, reboot with plugged mouse doesnt help.
Does this mean the mouse is not recognized as HID device?
2 of the 3 mice have the LED on, so power is there.
USB Sticks also don't work, although on some the Leds are on.
How are they added to the file system?
Which folder do I have to search for?
Furthermore:
Is the modded cable useable for PC to Archos connection?
Archos 70IT 8Gb
Urukdroid 1.5.1 OC kernel
Same results
I tried the same thing. In fact I believe I even followed that same article. I modified several usb cables to function as host cables and couldn't get any of them to work on my Archos 32. I eventually just ordered an actual host cable for a couple bucks and it worked perfect. I suspect it has something to do with the shape of the micro a connector being needed to make a proper connection.
It will not work, the host conector is different to the PC one, sorry
I bought a Nokia CA-157 cable, it is working now

[Q] [q] usb cable wiring

Hi,
Someone stepped on my USB cable when it was charging and bent/broke the USB end of the cable (not the end connected directly to my prime), the wires are loose and i'm trying to solder the wires to another USB cable that was lying around.
However i have not succeeded in making this work, probably because im connecting the cables wrong.
Can anyone tell me which wires are supposed to connect to what colours of the usb cable? They're 5 wires in a ASUS USB cable, but 4 in a regular USB cable and not all colours are the same...
Thank you!
Well the Asus cable is a USB 3.0 I believe since it uses up to 15 volts, which means you need another USB 3.0 end to connect to. Other than that I am unsure about the matching of the wires.

[Q] USB 3.0 OTG not connecting as USB 3.0 but 2.0?

I bought this item:
http://www.dx.com/p/micro-usb-3-0-m...-galaxy-note-3-n9000-blue-264684#.VHZJgDGsVGY
and in my HDD i connect using usb 3.0 and this connector and it gets detected but in the HDD it shows as being connected as usb 2.0 instead of 3.0!
any ideas why? Maybe its a power problem

USB OTG (host mode) is just USB2, only the normal USB client is USB3 (after you set it so, and times-out after like 10 minutes).

Really appreciate your reply! As i thought but its nice anyway
even i also got usb 3 otg.
should had got usb 2 otg since there is
no use for usb 3 otg

No USB 3.0?

I can't seem to get USB 3.0 working on this tablet. I copied 30gb to a 128gb UHS 3 SD card and it copied at 17MB/s (sd card empty)
I don't know why it is so slow!
I am at work so I cannot check the original cable but the first question is "was the cable you used 3.0?", with a blue connector? I actually cannot find out the specifications of the USB port of our tablet, not sure if it supports USB 3.0 but the cable (if I remembered correctly) that came with it is not a blue cable.

I think it is USB 3.0 cable, it has a blue end to it (on USB A end) I have another cable somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment.
Those are in line with the speeds I have gotten, over a USB C cable, to a gen 2 port. I don't think it supports faster transfers.

Personally, I just think that MTP is slow AF compared to MSC. Shame that android had removed MSC support. Pulling the SD out and using a reader seems to be the only fast way these days.
I'm also talking about USB OTG here.
Given that it is a Hi Sillicon Hi 3660, there is a manual for it.
That manual states that it has USB 3.0 OTG support..
https://en.alpha-star.org/docs/hardware-development-for-hikey960/hi3660-user-manual
see page 64..
Also worth noting that MTP is down to the device speed i think, it's odd and sometimes doesn't even max USB 2.0 even on my one plus. (i don't know why, but MTP is bad).
That speed was using USB OTG, which in host mode is supported at Superspeed according to that manual, so the only thing stopping it is software, in theory.
I sent Huawei an email, and they confirmed that it hasn't got USB 3.0
"Thank you for contacting Huawei Support.
The USB specification on the M5 tablet are:
hmm, after thinking about this, the hi 3660 has a USB 3.0 controller built in, and there are two modes, SS at 125MHz and HS at 60MHz, maybe a software update could change this.
I'm doubtful though, as the internal wiring might be different, and probably is.

SuperCharge + SuperSpeed USB-C cable?

Hi,
Does anybody know of a USB-C cable featuring both Huawei SuperCharge and USB 3.0 SuperSpeed data trasfer rate?
I could find only cables with either one or the other feature, not both.
Also the original Huawei cable supplied supports SuperCharge (together with the original Huawei charger) but it's only USB 2.0, with max transfer rate of 480 Mbps (USB Hi-Speed) when connected to a USB 3.0/3.1 port of my desktop PC.
Cheers.
This one on Wish worked for me, but you do need a charger marked 'SuperCharge'

Not sure if it's USB 3.0 - how do you tell?

Well, I have purchased several cables compatible with SuperCharge, but none of them was USB 3.0, just 2.0.
I also have tried many USB C cables that were actually USB 3.0, but none of them was SuperCharge compatible.
So I'm looking for a cable that supports BOTH SuperCharge and USB 3.0 data transfer speed, but I couldn't find any so far.
I started thinking that it is not technically possible to have both features in a single cable, it's probably one or the other due to hardware limitations.
You can tell if it's USB 3.0 when you plug the phone to a USB 3.0 port on your Windows PC.
If the cable is USB 2.0 only, a pop-up saying that "This device can perform faster" will appear and the data transfer speed will be much slower.
I have that: https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_1709066.html?wid=1433363
Working as advertised...
USB3 has blue color in connector, USB2 white...
