wow, someone still having a g3 ?
I am going to be honest with you. I don't really like the way you've made G3 repos on your personal GitHub. For someone who does his own repos in such unprofessional way, I wouldn't run their builds on my phone. I assume you know how to use Git in a basic way and how to fork basing on the job you've done in crDroid OTA repo, so why delete all history and authorship everywhere else? I used to be making the same mistake just because I didn't know Git and I learned very quickly on my own mistakes. I advise you do the same.

There's no big deal on having trees on your personal GitHub. I also have my trees on my git. I wrote specifically, it's the way you did them. You deleted the entire history which erases authorship and necessary credits. Don't get me wrong, the trees will still work, it just looks very unprofessional.

sadly my device broke
I recently stumbled across my old VS985, the week after I found my old Note 2. I fired up the (still charged!) extended battery and that thing handles 10 great.
Just a question, since the CDMA networks are pretty much dead now, LTE ruling the day, would there be any danger to force installing this ls990 ROM? I'm currently on the last release of CR droid for the 985 (10) it looks like this ROM and Lineage are the last (?) supported ROMS. I'm guessing 12 won't come.
But still, some of the great heroes of the VS 985 are in this thread. Especially hardstyler. It's amazing that this phone from 2014 - 7 years ago(!) is running 10 and 11!
Thanks, @lxlc, building a ROM for the community is always appreciated. Stumbling upon this thread made me pull out both LS990s I had and do the upgrade.
On the CRdroid site, I found the latest official update was 9/14/21, roughly three weeks after your post, so used that.
These were great little phones, can't believe I'm looking at them running Android 11!

...Actually wrote that halfway through the setup wizard; clearly the Android part was working. But, the face unlock is not!
Turns out (never paid attention before), the Internet is clogged with reports of users being unable to get past the face unlock in Android 11. (Tried several faces.) Lots of workarounds posted but none worked for me.

NM! Got it to work by turning head to strange angle, sticking out tongue and making bizarre face. What a worthless POS feature! Deleting from phones now...

Camera is as "good" or bad as it is on other Roms. No specific camera adjustments were done.

Please support the dual version of Z3(d6633), This can be my only hope to use my phone with Nougat ?
I flashed the rom, it all worked normal but the camera.
I kept getting the "Can't connect to the camera" error. Then I retried to reflash the ROM but without gapps or SuperSU, but even like that it didn't work.
(Sorry for bad english, not my main language)

the DualSIM Z3 requires additional Model blobs and testing. As nobody in the team owns a Z3 DSDS, we unfortunally can't support it.

I think I know why. I'll look into it. Was my fault as on my testing builds I always ran userdebug builds, but our releases were "user" builds, so the Cam is very likely broken thanks to SELinux or something like that. I will research it right away.
So, we should avoid this version and wait until the camera is fixed?

I fixed it already and restarted the builds. CARBON-CR-5.1-MOO-WEEKLY-leo-20170101-1528 should be fine.

I have tried the rom and there is a rendering in the animation of the system that is very little but it is enlarged when many processes are executed for example when you get many notifications to the time and also when you have many open applications.
There is also a conflict when passing files to the microSD from the PC sen que qeda making the copy and never pass the file is like a problem reading and writing.
This rom works fine on my Z3 with the panel replaced as there are roms with kernels 3.10 that do not work on devices with replaced panels.
This rom has that scent when it used android N DP for the Z3.

Is your SDCard exFat formatted? We still need to add support for that, but its on the todo list
For the animation stuff, I can't do much. I've been told that the newest QCOM adreno blobs improve the GPU experience, I'll see if I can build them into the next release.

This question is because I have installed the update that corrects the error of the camera and I deleted the Gapps and the good thing is that I have only left the apps that I downloaded from the PlayStore, in a few words what would be the appropriate procedure for Install a new ROM construction.

There is no Updater implemented yet (its another item on the todo list though).
When you update you _should_ be able to just flash the ROM, GApps should survive. If thats not the case, as it seems to be for you ATM, I'll look into that.
Till then, just flash the ROM and GApps afterwards.
maybe it's a silly question but why "moo" ?

ROM is running very smooth! And it seems like it's the first one which doesn't push the cores of the G5 to 2GHz all the time so battery consumption is pretty low.
I had some crashes in the beginning after restoring APPs from Titanium Backup but by now no further issues. Camera is okay but could be better (crashes from time to time, 'Open Camera' is doing quite well!). But I guess this is due to the fact that Motorola hasn't released Oreo yet and some parts for building the camera parts properly.
- Magisk v16 works fine (had to install it twice but then worked)
- BT working
- ext. LTE support (can't test VolTE cause I don't have it)
- Safetynet passes
- SD Card access working
@rrajesh011, @vache - you did a very descent job! By now it's the best Oreo ROM I've tested.

rootless Substratum is fully supported. Flip the switch for third party theming in Carbon Fibers -> Privacy/Security and install Substratum from the Playstore.

Make sure the GApps you used include Trusted Face packages. MindTheGapps for example doesn't.

Thanks man:good: I tried it right after I posted and everything went perfect. I'm theming my life away with Substratum. Getting ready to install the latest update. I usually uninstall all overlays before I update system and then reinstall them after... Could be paranoid but it seems to work better that way.

After applying themes with Substratum I noticed a new menu item called "Device theme", automagically appeared in Settings>Display>Advanced at the bottom right below "Tap to wake". Also Substratum had a major malfunction that the applied overlays didn't show up in Overlay Manager and could not be uninstalled unless I used the rescue zip in TWRP (apparently this is a known issue with Substratum 953). Running Substratum rooted seemed to help, also running Substratum 960 (not released yet). See screenshots for proof of weirdness.
PS This is not a complaint, just sharing experience & observation.

Battery live, there is nothing to worry about ...... you can see how many posts this thread got , happy people are quiet.
It seem like this Rom killed all the bugs I head from day one I bought the Nexus 6, that was in April 15.

In a recent update, google blocked using google dialer on unsupported devices. I'll fix it before the next weekly.

It's good to see carbon rom is available on android pie,. The main advantage of carbon rom in oreo was it's battery consumption,. Please provide the Pie version also alike oreo's one,. I am eagerly waiting for the next update

what do you mean by Couldn't install it? i have installed it and now setting up the pixel setup now.Actually its booted very fast.

(Recovery is the one posted by shivatejapeddi on his Aex thread.But i think its the same one that is recomended by chityanj)
So i went to recover.wipe system,cache,dalvik,data,vendor.Flashed the rom and reboot.
then again to twrp and flashed the opengapps and reboot.Thats it.

Here I faced some issues (May b you recognised before)
1. Connected to pc (adb).Disconnect and connect the cable to charging adapter is force rebooting to recovery.(most of the times)
2. Charging speed is not continuous (Means i checked on ampere app .the charging speed is fluctuating. Sometime its rapidly charging and some times its slowing down).

Tried every pie ROM there is and all of them seem to have heating issue. Cpu temp ramps up to 90°C on CPU intensive apps like games.
So far most things look good. Thanks for all the great work!
Tried a few things and heat up may be caused by cpu scheduler settings or cpu governor settings. Dont know which. But applied akt profile FusionOBeta22 using KPM and it sure has stopped the heating issues. Still getting spikes here and there on some cpu intensive tasks up to 85°C but ai can now use this as a daily driver.
