Khadas VIM3L Android boot issue - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

Hey guys,
I have a strange issue when adjusting my bootanimation.zip
the board im using is vim3l running android 9.0 and when i change my bootanimation.zip i get Process System Isn’t Responding error once android is booted and it makes my wallpaper black plus kicks me out of apps every 1minutes.
my boot logo is showing up while booting but the issue shows up once android is booted.
the only thing i adjusted was bootanimation.zip, is there any other file/folder that i need to adjust when modifying bootanimation.zip ?
* by restoring the original bootanimation.zip problem goes away and android works normally so is there another file that needs to be adjusted for the new bootanimation.zip’s file size or something related to it ?

Hi Atika-Plex
I'm currently encountering the same issue (on the same board). Have you find a solution ?
Personnaly, I tried several things (reducing the resolution, removing sequences, etc..) without succcess...
Please let me know if you find something.

[Q] Need help tweaking DeskClock - Changes not applying

Hi,
I'm trying to modify the ICS deskclock app for my device so that it simulates being touched when the screensaver mode starts. (if you touch the screen it dims the backlight a lot, and darkens the text).
I have some Android devices on 24x7 and the screens can't power off, so I need to dim the backlight down when the screensaver mode kicks in (deskclock is launched at idle instead of lock screen).
I've got the DeskClock source used on my device and have modified DeskClock.java by adding 'doDim(true);' at the start of 'Private void saveScreen()'
After compiling I got the APK but my device wouldn't load it (reported signature mis-match) so I used the .odex from the original APK not the one with my new package - now the modded APK installed.
But when I launch nothing seems to have changed - I re-compiled after changing the screensaver timeout value in DeskClock.java, but again it doesn't seem to be any different..
Is this because I'm using the original .odex ?
If so, how can I re-create an odex file to match the framework on my device for the new APK? (if I use the odex file generated by compiling the entire ROM is says something like the policy framework signature does not match?!)
If not, any ideas why nothing is changing? (I have no real experience of Java!)
Many Thanks!

Can i edit the wifi section of an *.img with Dragonface??

Hi.. I have been trying to fix a tv stick for a few months now (basically is more about the knowledge i am getting - I am not desperate in fixing it). It is a strange piece, probably clone that i have been tricked in buying. It has an Allwinner A20 dual core cpu with an AP6210 wifi module...
Tried to flash another firmware ti improve it, ended up with the wifi problem. Wifi (and bleutooth) will not start. When i press the button, it just slides back to off... I have read and tried anything i could find on the internet. I have also tried tens of firmwares, but the wifi problem persisted (the original firmware is nowhere to be found).. To cut the story short, the device will not connect to a computer through ADB (it just doesn't seem to support this function - is not a matter of drivers). So everything i have been trying did not include this option...Also the recovery can not be changed to support backup and restore from custom recoveries (i.e CWM, or TWRP)..
What i did manage was to extract a backup from the rom, of another identical device, with the Nandroid App (online version, not through the recovery). Then i used the Dragonface program to edit another similar firmware (MK808C). While loaded, i open the FSOP folder which is the folder that dragonface collapses the loaded firmware for editing and then, i replaced the existing system folder with the one i had backed up trough the Nandroid procedure... Then hit the save button of the Dragonface...
I flashed the new *.img to my tv stick with the phoenix tool, and the tv stick booted normally, looking EXACTLY the same as when i first bought it. I even managed to get the bleutooth going this time, BUT, the bloody wifi still refuses to come on :-/
I must tell you, I know my way through some computer technical stuff but I am not an expert into the coding level and i haven't had the experience of Linux systems (thus i don't really understand coding). I really thought all settings and drivers are included in the system file and copying the original system file into another firmware, would do the trick.. but i guess is not that simple... The thing is that, the way i see it, the problem is probably hidden at the booting level... hitting the system configuration in the advance settings of the Dragon face, will open some coding thing which i don't understand.. but i do see the AP6210 module in that coding, which means that the new firmware includes those drivers..If anybody have any idea or can point me to the right direction I would really appreciate it.. Thanks
I have the same problem with AP6210 on H3 Allwinner STB box. After firmware ugrade from Android 4.4.2 to Android 10 Wifi just don't work, button slides back to off. Drivers are present. Have both firware files unpacked.
Please help! What i have to do? Sys_config? Init.rc?

Error while trying modify build.prop

Hello Everyone. (Assalamualaikum)
This is my first thread on XDA.
Here is the problem - i just flash https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-star/development/port-resurrection-remix-t3429810 this rom yesterday. And now, i can't save my BUILD.PROP (in stock rom, file saved without any problems). ALSO i can't install most of my favorite apps as - Gboard, kiwi, xposed etc.
This is what shown, when i try to save modified build.prop --> java.io.IOException: error after write by shell
So, is this problem to the rom only or there is any other way to solve this two problems???
1. build.prop showing - java.io.IOException: error after write by shell
2. can not install some apps which i could in stock rom
Walikum-usalam
This can happen if your phone does not enough permissions to change it and of the apps they are not installing because the apps are not supported by the ROM
If you want to change the build.prop and install apps you can install Teamviewer in your computer and tell me the partner ID and password
I will connect to your computer and fix it
Assalamualaikum everyone and resurrecting this thread again lol. But im kinda having a issue which is kinda similar, where if i change my build prop to pixel 5 my gboard creates a gap in the bottom area which mimics the 16:9 ratio display but my phone doesn't have a 16:9 display. So any possible fix to this as i want to get rid of this odd blank space while typing? thank you

How to find the boot animation location on a specific device? (Android 11)

I was doing some experiments on an unbranded (allwinner t3 p1/android 11) based head unit by following various community-based instructions, but could not find the factory version of boot animation in system/media while browsing using root browser classic. Can the boot animation location vary from one device to another?
Is there a way to find the exact location of the boot animation in a specific device?
I checked in my Samsung Galaxy note 10 too, neither it had a boot animation in that location...
I realise you've probably moved on by now, but for anyone else's sake, try looking in /system/product/media/ - I think this became the standard location in android 11.
If that isn't right, you could just do a recursive search for 'bootanimation.zip' from the system folder
