Which Android version available for Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) (like Android 6.0, 7.0 etc) is
stable enough for a daily driver?
most feature-rich?
less buggy?
In your suggestions, also add which OFFICIAL Custom ROM you would prefer (unofficial ROMs are a bit buggy for me), with respect to the Android version (for example, for Android 7.0, which custom ROM you would choose) which also fulfills the above requirements.
Any suggestions and replies are welcome...
Hi! Have you tried something in the meantime?

Hi!
A friend has a Samsung Galaxy S III (I9300). He would like to change ROM, now he's on latest firmware (4.3 if I remember right).
He like Android Lollipop based ROMs, but if there are other ROMs (KitKat for example) that are best we'll install it.
I don't know how to flash a kernel, a recovery and a ROM on Samsung phone (I have a Sony).
So please can you tell a good ROM smooth and stable for this phone? And also can you tell me how to flash it (noob guide because I don't know Samsung phones).
We don't want to try all ROM (I'm impressed, there are very many ).
Thanks in advance!
P.S.: Sorry for my bad English.

Here you will learn everything about flashing a custom ROM on a Samsung Galaxy S III I9300.
To choose your ROM, you can first of all decide if you want a Samsung-based or an AOSP-based ROM.
Another thing not mandatory but positive is to see that people are still using a ROM, so look in the I9300 Android Development and Original Development forums for active [ROM] threads.
Once you’ve chosen the one you want, be sure to read its thread carefully before flashing it.
Hope it helped!
I recommended this KitKat ROMs (stable, fast, smooth) (TOP for me)
Blekota Note 4 lite v4
Blekota S5 v11
QS-i9300 kitkat NJ1
Back to n00t v9.
(subject meant to be: I am clueless and....)
Hello there folks.
I checked some of the custom-roms here for a samsung galaxy s 3.
(Installed a C.M on moto g.... got it to 4.4 and then upgraded to 5.x and hardbricked it life is funny )
Can anyone tell me how to choose a Rom ? (there is a sheer number of roms to choose from)
They all seem nice I know that some come with KitKat and some come with 5.x.
Any recommendations for a stable Rom ?
Any recommendation for a Rom with a new OS (5.x) ? (even a less stable one )
And is it okay if I follow the instructions for installing a Rom from the official site of C.M ?
Any tips on how to backup ?
Here are the list of roms I found so far (there way too many)(open to new suggestions)
NamelessROM 2.1
RESURRECTION REMIX 5.4.8[CM12.1][OPTIMIZED]
JustArchi CyanogenMod 12.1 for i9300
Blekota Note 4 Lite ROM for Galaxy S3 (I9300)
Archidroid 2
temasek's UNOFFICIAL CM12.1 BUILDS
Thanks for answers and have a good day.
hello all
i have run into some issues with the current available custom roms and was looking at creating my own and just wanted to know how if possible you would increase the android version from 4.2.2 (official firmware cap) to say at least 4.4 kitkat or even further to something like marshmallow.
any help would be much appreciated
Does anyone know whether there are any ports for Galaxy S2? I mean I know that latest Samsung official firmware was 4.1.2 but I was wondering if any devs made ports from other devices (such as Galaxy S3 for example) running JB 4.3.x or KK (4.4.x) or LP (5.x) etc. Searched XDA but I could not find any, grateful if someone could share their findings in this regard. Many thanks!
Hmmm....no one any ideas?
On SGII can find:
Stock base: normally latest stock without changes 4.1.2
Stock based: based on latest stock but with many changes (root, extra apps,kernels,...) 4.1.2
Custom roms: More devs create unofficial roms without her drivers but functions more stable example CM, LOS, RR.....
I am looking for a rom that is similar to magma nx and supports the sm n900p. Any recommendations?
Hya,
Sure.. I have a lot of recommendations, but you may not like the choices. Magma NX and the like are all based on Lolipop era roms.. and based more or less on a TouchWiz Variant. There are very modern and current ROMS out there, but they are more stock android based. You will have generic SPen control but not special features... You will also lose WiFi calling and the BT connectivity will work but become slightly more unstable. But you get the latest features and security patches.
So depending on what you want out of a ROM and what you want out of your phone.. I can recommend Resurrection Remix Pie based ROM and Superior OS which is Android 10 based. That are IMHO the best ROMS to use for a Sprint phone.
