Flash 802SO without losing drm and unlocking the bootloader? - Sony Xperia 1 Questions & Answers

I'm trying to flash over to an official firmware so that I can use android 11. Softbank isn't going to bother updating to it. Flashtool keeps getting stuck and telling me that I need an unlocked bootloader. How did you guys manage to do this?
I get stuck at "sending getvar product" every time. or I get an error after parsing boot delivery. I've tried many different firmwares from xperifirm with no luck.

I figured it out myself. I used newflasher. For anyone running into the same problem as me, extract the exe only for newflasher into the folder you downloaded from xperifirm. Delete the simlock.ta file and then flash. Flashtool doesn't seem to work with the 802SO and a locked bootloader.

[Q] [Need Help][Urgent] Problem with Phone and Busybox/xRecovery

Okay, I have a big problem with my phone, I decided to redo the operating system to a new version/ROM because the one i was using on it before several issues where coming up with it, 1: I Couldn't connect to other providers even though i had phone unlocked. 2: Some default programs where having problems starting.
So When doing a kernel upgrade my phone did not respond kept staying for 2 hours on the "SE" logo, and would not budge, so i decided to remake it, after about 4 hours i was able to get a OS on it, but this OS was older and out of date, when trying to go back to xRecovery it did not want to come up, i downloaded a Reboot to Recovery APK, which informed me that My "xRecovery" was not installed, which is weird because it was installed before.
I been trying to get the Default root method to install xRecovery which every time i ran the "Flash tools" program, it would not allow me to install xRecovery.
If anyone can contact me on skype "mradziwilko" to help me out, or post here ill be here checking on forum every min.
Thanks
Anyone would love some help?

Hi buddy, Have you tried to use ftf file like zahdi5h, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212260 to update?
You have to have unlocked boot loader and you can drag and drop the ftf into flash tool. Make sure you tick no final verification in flashtool or you will get error.
If that don't work then I suggest starting over with fresh 2.3.3.
Go back to stock using Sony Ericsson Update Service (seus) Use google or search threads for program.
Then just re-do, unlock boot loader and install recovery again with flashtool.
Hopefully zahdi5h ftf file will get you out of trouble.

I downloaded this FTF File, when opening it with the latest Flash Tool, it does not Recognize it.
Is their a possability you can link me another FTF, i know CM9 worked, but because i dont have a boot loader i need a ftf to be flashed, i tried with the IMG file, but the flashtool.exe keeps saying <Waiting for Device> and does nothing.
Also to add more info :

Hi mate is your boot loader unlocked? If not then unlock it with flashtool. Try Version 0.9.10.1 of flashtool. Work's for me.
Download from http://androxyde.github.io/index.html?1373179542000
And you can also drag and drop the FTF file into flash-tool. FTF contains Kernel and rom., tick the no final verification box on bottom right.

Happy Cooking

PS.
in case latest software does not appear just press "all Services"
flash latest software available and on top new loader
Up it?
Can someone drop this new bootloader img on a filesharer? I'm in a boot loop and Emma won't let me in (even with the supplied configuration INI file).
Thanks!

Here you go... in FTF and loader.sin format.
Good Luck.
Another way to flash?
Thanks for that! As I said, I can't get Emma to work. In fact, even after reinstalling and pasting the INI file in the Program Files directly again, it still keeps me on the login prompt. So, is there another tool I can use to flash this FTF or SIN file? I have fastboot working, but no ADB.
Appreciated!
Final thanks
I found out about the distinction between Androxyde's FlashTool and Sony's "flashtool" Emma. I hadn't before known that the former existed, and Sony's use of the term "flashtool" confused me. Thank you for the file. Didn't seem to help (see my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60964546&postcount=2), but thank you anyway!
Ta!
my c6802 isn't supported by emma.........can't i flash the new bootloader in my device????

Google is ur friend, but os emma for unlocked bootloaders only?
You can upgrade by this tool also
http://www.flashtool.net/
Does anyone know where Emma stores downloaded services (roms)? I'd like to save it for later use. I'm using Windows 10 x64 and older answers seem to be outdated. It now installs to "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Sony Mobile\Xperia Flash Tool"
edit: Found it in "C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Xperia Flash Tool\2021-01-04-173003\localstorage\Default"
There are 3 json info files and 3 files with no extension that you can open with 7zip.

Trying to flash US XZ1 to the CE1 spec but unable to see ANY FTF files

Like many Sony owners out there, I wanted to get the fingerprint scanner to work on the new XZ1 phone and all was going well when I loaded the Sony Flasher, then was able to download the CE1 (central European) firmware. I was even able to uncompress all the files out of the FTF file BUT here is where it stops...
When I go to FLASH the new firmware the Flasher software can't even see any of the new downloaded firmwares as the Firmware Selector is empty. I've looked all over in the Flashtool/Firmware directories and can see them in Windows Explorer but the Flasher can't.
Do I need to add a file/files so that the Flash tool can see it? I've run out of ideas.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers!
Martin
Maybe this guide would help you

For flashing a firmware, it must be in ftf format, and be located in a folder outside of flashtool folder.

Question How to update after I rooted my device?

As I flashed HK firmware I can't receive ota updates. So I can only update my phone through flashing firmware. How to flash new firmware without clearing data and also I rooted my IV, can I not flash bootloader or I should flash bootloader and reroot it?
Just extract the boot image of the new firmware you want to flash and patch it with magisk, flash the firmware preserving userdata, and then flash the patched boot.img to get root back.
EDIT: Make sure to run newflasher set_active:a before flashing or else you will get a boot loop. No idea why.

I found someone say that remove userdata.sin in firmware before flashing so I can preserve my data. Is that true?

Newflasher will prompt you if you want to preserve data. If you don't trust that you can look into update.xml and delete all the files marked NOERASE (delete from the firmware folder, not from the xml file).
