I have found 3 major issues.
1. When I was connected to my office laptop through mobile hotspot, when I receive a call to my phone, automatically internet disconnected both on my mobile & laptop. Until unless my call gets completed, internet is restoring.
2. There is a microphone issue, everytime I need to shout louder in order to make sure other side person is able to listen what I am speaking.
3. Batter draining super fast.
Try recalibrating the battery for the rapid battery drainage issue. See the following page for steps.

Hi I have wrote an email to Sony support couple of weeks back and finally got words from them today. Below is the content of the email:
Hi [myname],
I have finally had a response from my Technical service division about your issue with the tablet, they replied that the issues you were experiencing were rectified by the latest software update, after informing them that you have already applied this update this is the response I got.
Hi [customersupportrepsname],
When the power button is pressed, the device enters into Sleep or Display off mode. When the system enters into sleep mode, the Wi-Fi is disconnected even if “Wi-Fi Disconnect Policy” is set to Never.
The running applications judge whether the system enters into Sleep or Display off mode.
For example:
Sleep = Applications that accepts sleep - Browser, Reader, Camera
Display Off = Applications that refuse sleep - Music player, Music, Remote Control
If the customer wishes to never disconnect from the Wi-Fi, this can be the work-around:
When the AC adaptor is connected, it doesn't shift to sleep mode by the following methods.
1.Tap [Settings]-[Applications]-[Development]
2.Check Stay awake
So unfortunately [myname] I’m not sure what you would like to do from here. Obviously the work around is not ideal as the main reason for using the Wi-Fi connection is that it need not be connected to a wall outlet of any kind.
It may be a case of taking the unit to an authorised service centre.
You can find the nearest one here:
http://www.sony.com.au/section/servicecentres
Select computer from the product category dropdown menu.
Kind Regards

Interestingly Sony doesn't think of it as a glitch, it's just the nature of the OS. And I'm not sure what 'taking the unit to an authorised service centre' gonna help me if it isn't a problem.
Disappointed. It doesn't make any sense.
Why we can't stay connection after Sleep or screen off or any circumstances?
It makes me feel the connection policy is useless.
BTW, Thanks for posting this
Yeap exactly. I'm still in touch with the customer support rep, telling him that sometime(rarely) it does stay connected to the wifi when it sleep. If this is the nature of the OS, other honeycomb tablet should have this problem too. Does anyone else have other tablet to confirm this?

This is definitely not a honeycomb problem. Tried it with the Xoom and the new Galaxy Tab, both work as supposed to when switching to Never disconnect.
This is also not the first discussion in here, so I dont get why we need yet another thread about this.
Read more here. There u'll also find a workaround on how to fix this problem.
Since Sony obviously doesnt see it as a "bug" we wont get a fix anytime soon. (Maybe ICS will solve it)
And their supposedly 'workaround' is a f*ckin impudence imo.
I urge anyone who wants to keep their WiFi always on, WRITE AN EMAIL to Sony. We wont get a fix if we only complain in here (or other forums for that matter) and Sony's not interested in one or two email complaints. I didnt even get an answer anymore after my 5th or so eMail, but if they'll recieve more n more they have to act at some point!
If you do email Sony make sure you copy & paste the thread url about the complaints into the mail. My customer support rep claimed that he have a read on the link i sent him. At least let sony know how annoyed their customers are if sony didn't already check this website.
I have problem with 3G. When I turn off wifi, he does not turn on 3G and show me no internet connection. I must restart tablet to use 3G :/
Im looking for a Android powered GSM phone that will automatically turn itself back on if the battery is dead and power is reconnected.
I want to stash this in my vintage automobile and use tracking software to locate the vehicle in the unfortunate event its stolen. The only issue I need to solve is if the battery dies and the phone turns off how to turn it back on automatically. I plan to put the device in the door panels so access will be difficult.
Does anyone know of a phone that does this?
Not sure where to post a question like this so I figured I'd start here.

Please check NoMoarPowah! app from Chainfire - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.nomoarpowah&hl=en
NoMoarPowah! can automatically reboot into Android when charging is done. Either when fully charged, or when the battery level reaches 15% and Android has enough juice to run.
The app is known to work on the following devices -
Tested on the following devices:
- Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) and family
- Samsung Galaxy S2 (I9100) and family
- Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (P1000) and family
- Samsung Droid Charge
- Samsung/T-Mobile Sidekick 4G
- Samsung Continuum (ticker overlaps)
Awesome thank you!!
Kind of a useless app, since you have to select your option each use. May as well just plug in and power up.
Note 2 > Deodexed Stock ROM > Tapatalk 2
you should try with Tasker (but that's not a free app, unfortunately)
Car Charging
Intelligent Approach,
I have also did the same thing but with some alteration and continue improvements to it for my vehicle security, i also did the same but putted the phone in dashboard and connected it to car cigarette lighter socket internally,(simple wiring), whenever car starts, it will start charging and Battery Booster apps Prevents Overcharge.
But currently i have hidden my Phone Near Speakers at the Back, and integrated it with Car Key less entry Remote (Car Security), so when ever some Opens my Car Doors, Car security Sends 12v Current to Siren as well as Car Charger that is connected to Mobile.
My Mobile is Programmed using an simple App that Call my Phone Number whenever It detects "Car Charger Connected" Event.
In short I get informed by my car in case of Un Authorize Access simple.
Keep it Up.
Anjum
how do you detect car charger connected event programmatically?
hi greatanjum,
thanks for your interesting post.
how do you detect car charger connected event programmatically?
could you please post a source code snippet about this?
Thank you
silvio
P.S. : I think I've gotted myself ... Using BatteryManager and its BATTERY_PLUGGED_* and EXTRA PLUGGED ...
Am I right?

if you flash TWRP and turn your phone off soon as it is connected to a charger it will boot into recovery, with that being said you easily the partition it boots into from recovery to system
i know this is a tad old post but it was near the top of google search so others may still find this thread useful
but samsung galaxy europa (its quite old and cheap £/$20 or less unlocked and locked) phone seem to work well for me only modification you have to make to the phone is the power button needs to be held down (at the start i used a clamp or large paperclip), so soon as power is received it turns on even after full power drain as when the charger is powered up it starts the auto charge which then checks the keys and sees the power/hangup button is pressed (power button is ignored as long as its left constantly held down so it not turn off) o and make sure sound is set to silent or the low battery warning will blaring away when it is running low (i do believe there is a extended battery you can get for the phone as well)
i use FollowMee for tracking and wheresmydroid as backup (has sms keyword triggering) FollowMee me never failed me) only issue is you need lots of account with wheresmydroid if you have more then 2 devices (assuming you want to use it to track via website if not the SMS keyword GPS one off tracking can be useful and it will use google WiFi Geolocation if GPS fails to work and a wifi access point is in range and you have mobile data) FollowMee does have a one off $3 or $6 payment for full 15-30 day history unlock (but works fine as free as well but will only show one current location at a time no history)
and disabled all automatic updates on google play (make sure you open google play a number of times with 5 minute delay between each open so it installs the newer version and let it update or it might get stuck in a loop and eat all mobile data) on the phone and push updates so only the app uses data (you could probably get away with a M2M sim as well), also set the phone to 2G only as 3G is bit flaky on samsung phones and 2G uses nearly no power as well
I got a Stratos 2 a couple of weeks ago and I am exceedingly happy with it. One feature is the ability to connect the watch to a WIFI router. I have done that but still cannot figure out what that actually does.
Could someone shed a light on that for me?
Upload watch data to cloud. I sometimes have to do this so activities sync with MiFit.
On stock watches WiFi is only used to:
1. Upload sports activity data directly to the cloud;
2. Download firmware updates;
3. Send error report logs to Huami.
You can use third party apps to enable WiFi and keep screen on (WiFi disconnects if screen goes into standby mode), but battery will drain a LOT faster.
Hi, I'm having an issue with battery drain during phone call. The battery meter consistently shows audio phone calls as "screen on" and drains battery exactly as if the screen was on, even though the screen is off during the call, with a headset being used. Same issue regardless of LTE or wifi-calling. Audio calls on whatsapp and google hangouts (again with screen off throughout) always shows as 50% screen on/50% background.
Is this normal for iphone? Very frustrating as I am used to making long phone calls on android with very little battery drain!
Obviously it's being misreported which can happen but it's suspicious.
Possibly could be malware... iPhones aren't malware proof. Social apps elevate the risk level.
WhatsApp is malware or close enough... I won't let it FB or any social media apps run on my devices. If I can't completely access it by browser alone, I don't go there.
I would take out the trash and go from there.
Use the native phone app instead.
Thank you so much for the information; this website contains a lot of other fascinating stuff as well.

Hello, I will update my older posts from 10-15 days ago. Xperia 1 III latest system update problem with mobile data and mobile network, AND NOW I discover this problem does not exist when is phone on charger. And mobile network problem with phone calls exist only when is phone use 2G mobile network
When the phone is connected to the charger, mobile data is not interrupted, as was the case when the phone is not on the charger. In all the situations in which I have listed that the problem is present when it is connected to the charger, none of the listed problems occur.when it is connected to the charger, none of the listed problems occur.
During charging, there are no problems in the music player, YouTube on social networks when watching a video and the sound is turned up all the way. in all usual situations, when the volume of the speakers is reduced to a little more than half, the problem disappears.

Sony Xperia 1 III network problem, and mobile data problem. Android 12, Build number 61.1.A.9.128
Hello everyone, Sony Xperia 1 III (QX-BC52) I found two problems or bugs: 1. PROBLEM WITH MOBILE DATA: This problem does not occur on the wifi network, but only when the phone uses mobile data. I will also send you a couple of different...

Bellow I share link with video. Video show when the phone is connected to the charger mobile data operates normally the 4g icon does not disappear. When the phone is not connected to the charger problem with mobile data again exist:

I also have the same issue but on Xperia 5 III, I've requested warranty service through my phone operator Tele2 since the phone's basic function (phonecalls) is not working. I've tried with two simcards (nr2 is an extra data card).
It should be quite easy for Sony to notice there is an issue if thousands of devices just dissapear from their (telemetry) network in my layman point of view
You give Sony far too much credit. I contacted their support and they gave the usual "reset and software repair" advice. Nothing about diagnostics, nothing about trying to reproduce it, and no hint of skills. This is how companies tell their customers to go f-off.
For all the serious bugs in this phone, the fingerprint reader bootloop is the only one I've seen fixed. Major features in the spec sheet remain broken/deactivated.
As I mentioned in the duplicate thread, the phone logs hint that it's running out of power, or thinks it is. There are likely no interesting errors to be picked up in metrics collection.
It appears that with 61.1.A.9.219 update the problem is gone. No more drops of signal. At least after 1 hour of using the phone no drops.
