I am switching to the Mi Pad 4 from another device which had much better battery life (I had an extended battery case which I can't buy for this one). I'm finding the transition difficult and I'm wondering if there are any custom ROMs that have extreme/ultra battery saving modes like some of the OEMs put on their devices. In general, they get rid of any optional/unnecessary graphical 'prettiness', limit the CPU, and sometimes restrict you to a more limit set of apps (either predefined or ones that you choose to remain active). I've just now tried a few different ones but apart from a light general battery saving mode that doesn't do a whole lot, none have this option. A recommendation for such a ROM to try would be great. Thank you!
Interested in this as well, mainly just for custom ROMs that are very stable and great on battery life. ATM, my MiPad4 is draining at about 800 ~ 1000 mA. I'm using a custom ROM created by ProtoDeVNan0 since 2019 and there hasn't been any updates for a long time. I'm considering switching to a new ROM, but from what I can see so far, a lot of them have bugs.

i am planning to flash an aosp rom on my GSM evo(s-off,unlocked).what do you suggest.ia have tested this one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1551746) but battery is the worst ever.barely 4 hours of using.
i would love to see your suggestions for a ROM with good battery and camera working(2d,i don't really care about 3d),also jelly bean would be better than ics but ics it's ok too!.
thanks!
As a rule of thumb sense roms tend to have better battery life and aosp roms lack that. However there are a number of ways to help save juice on your phone. Having your phone CPU governors behave in a way that saves battery power when your screen is off. Don't overclock your cpu. Smartass governor is a great balance between battery and performance. Disabling apps that misbehave. If both CPUs are online, you can force the other offline when not in use or screen off. Not having certain features running in the background like auto sync, GPS and Bluetooth. And of course there's always that extended battery.
How often do people buy new batteries for their sgsII?
I've tried four different roms (4.0. 0+) with three different kernels & have seen very poor battery life even after the usual first couple of poor days.
I have had this phone for over 12 months & it's used for at least four hours plus on games/net usage a day, sometimes more.
I bow to your combined greater experience, would a new battery improve this greatly?
Thanks in advance for your help folks.

I don't think so.
You can install an app, or maybe a setting on the phone, how much voltages a battery gives.
Try more different roms. Even the builds of a custom rom can decrease or increase battery life hugely.

My experience says "YES". I thought JB was terrible on battery life until I replaced my original battery (1.5yrs old) with an original Samsung battery (the 2000mAh instead of 1650mAh).
Now after calls, internet in morning, reading RSS, photos, updating apps, texting, & email it's 2pm in the day and still says 76%. Plus I use NoLED which is not great on battery as it is. That's on XXMS1.
Previously it would've been about 40%, or worse if I'd been reading on the phone more, and I'd be topping up the charge with my charger at work.
Of course a larger battery gives you better battery life. It's just a case of your rom/kernel-combination, your app-usage, screen brightness, apps running on the background, gps, etc. etc.
Have a look at this thread:

It is very usefull and improves your battery life a lot.
Hi

How old is the battery? They last about 18-30 months, so most Rezound's should have had the battery replaced at least once... I recommend Laza for solid replacements.
What ROM are you using? In general, the more basic the ROM, the better the battery life, Plain-Andy, Evervolv, and CM are usually pretty good on battery but sacrifice features. Other than that general battery saving things are very helpful, disable Google Now, Location Services, GPS, LTE, etc. Some battery saving tools like JuiceDefender have varying amounts of benefit for users, some see a significant difference, others little or none.
You should also look at Wakelock Detector and GSAM Battery Monitor (plus it's root companion) will let you know if something is not working correctly, holding the device awake, or waking it much more than it should.
Remember the Rezound is a first generation LTE device, it is very hard on battery and getting more than 2 hours of screen on time is considered very good for the Rez, even with a new battery and everything is working smoothly. For the best battery experience on the Rez, look into an extended battery, or multiple standard batteries and a stand-alone charger.

Make sure you have LTE disabled, your network mode should be WCDMA Preferred, GSM Auto, or GSM Only, leaving it in Global Mode can keep the LTE radio constantly searching for signal it will never find... this will make a big difference. I also recommend one or both of the tools I mentioned earlier to see what is actually draining the battery.
Good morning good evening and good night everyone,
As the title says, I'm looking for any recent kernels for an s9+ with solid battery life improvement, with the current stock android 10 ROM I get 4 to 5 hours of SOT with medium work load.
I've looked into the kernels and roms available on the boards but I need a solid recommendation, preferably from experience.
Thanks in advance

People should change their behavior not kernels I mean i do agree that any custom kernel, rom always gives better battery life, BUT end user is the cause of bad battery life, i often notice people have turned on EVERYTHING they can, NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, Data... why???? if you have wifi-turn off data, if you ave data turn off wifi. If you don't have anything connected to Bluetooht-turn it off. Lower your screen brightness, many people use SUCH A HIGH brightness it burns their retinas. With Every phone i had last 5 years i need to charge battery every 3rd, sometimes 4th day. But i dont live in phone. I do have computer, phone is phone not replacement for computer. My words may sound like nonsense for nolifers who lives in phones (facebook, instagram and so on), but that's truth.
So to answer your question - ANY custom rom with custom kernel will be better then stock. Also make sure your resolution is fullHD not maximum, that helps too, and try lowering brightness even tiny bit. screen is biggest power consumption (if not gaming, but people use consoles for gaming)

I totally expect to drain my battery when I'm on a workload, but there's a discrepancy with my work load and battery usage, sometimes the phone sits idle and it eats 10 to 15% in an hour (no always on display or anything else). I've never been a guy of irresponsible phone usage either, I like to keep track of what my phone is doing and I usually turn off all the extras i'm not using (it's second nature to me to do so just like how you would check if your keys are there every once in a while). I'm not looking for a miracle kernel that saves battery even when i'm using my phone irresponsibly. I'm just looking for a well rounded efficient experience with my phone which doesn't get me through the day.
Thanks a lot for your answer and do you have any specific custom rom names or kernels that you've tested and would suggest, please?
Hi everyone, I have had a Poco F1 for the last three years, and I'm not planning on change it for another phone anytime soon, but the thing is, that I'm trying to get into genshin impact, but due to work, I don't have much time to play it at home, so I would like to play on my phone on breaks or on the bus, but there's two problems,
The first is performance, the game really chugs a lot even on low settings precisely when I move the camera, and I've seen a lot of people on the internet that can play with better settings with better performance.
The second is the battery, after a battery replacement the phone is not that bad on normal use, but when gaming, it drains a lot of battery, I think I can't even get two hours without charging it while playing, and I would like to get the same kind of battery life I was getting on when i first got the phone. (I remember playing PUBG, when I first got it, for hours without charging it)
After the long introduction, I would like to get some kind of advice on what custom rom should I flash on my phone regarding this:
-It has to have better overall performance, since the gaming performance is so lackluster and poor.
-It has to have better battery life (yes, I know that balancing the two is kind of difficult, and I've seen a lot of performance specific roms and kernels but I really don't know about the battery life on those), and keep in mind that this is my only phone so I would like to have a phone that can last me one day, on normal use of course.
-It has to support some of the features that the stock rom has, like face and fingerprint unlock, and notch support.
-And lastly it would be essential that the rom supports safenet (since I'd be using banking apps), and google applications baked in. (I would as well not like to root the device).
When researching, I always come to these two, the Pixel Experience and the Corvus OS, but I know there's a ton more out there.
So I would be happy if someone gave me some kind of advice on this topic.
Thanks.
Edit: I´ve never done any flashing of custom roms on any phone so i dont have experience.

You can find everything you need in my POCO F1 Ultimate Collection & Guides. (Scroll down for guides)
About ROMs, I recommend you to pick one the awarded ROMs. Keep in mind none of A12 ROMs have Face Unlock (yet). If you really need Face Unlock choose A11 ROM but A12 is much smoother and better overall and support is active.
Carrying around a powerbank isn't possible? Gaming drains a lot of battery... Could be that Genshin Impact is more taxing on the battery that PUBG. I remember 25% active drain in the latter.
Regarding battery life crDroid is fantastic but the stock Optimus Drunk kernel in A11 wasn't geared towards hardcore gaming. OD kernel is no longer being updated for F1 and in A12 the default is the generic? "perf" kernel. You could try a few of the custom kernels available for A12.
Yeah, I could carry a power bank, but the most pressing issue is the lackluster performance.
When I referred PUBG, I wasn't comparing it with genshin impact, I was comparing the battery life I had in the beginning playing that specific game and the battery life I have now in the same situation.
I have been looking into arrowOS, in Android 11, it seems to have a decent performance increase in relation with stock with better RAM management and good battery life.
I also saw a bunch of comparisons between MIUI 11 and MIUI 12, and the battery life on the first "reminds" me of the kind of battery life I was getting when I got the phone.

Did you replace with the official battery? Majority of the third-party batteries are rubbish. Even in case of the official battery it's possible to lose out on 10% of the rated capacity due to the aging process, 2-4%/year. It's difficult to get the same battery life in changing workloads like games anyway.
