Root and unlock bootloader success for Huawei U8686 Prism II
T-Mobile branded Prism II (Huawei U8686) purchased with bootloader locked. Rooted using Cydia Impactor from Ubuntu Linux host computer via USB ADB connection. Bootloader unlocked from same host computer using required code from manufacturer. Huawei has a form on their website for bootloader unlock code requests but the U8686 is not included. I searched the world wide web and found a success story about contacting Huawei for the bootloader unlock code. Here's the (template) email request:

We need Custom Recovery for this before we can do anything. Also did you ever get to root this?

Later today i will be posting guide on how to unlock bootloader and root your prism 2. I am downloading kernel sources as i am typing. Will setup build environment on my pc. I need few hunters to locate what soc this phone uses so i can do oc safely for this phone. Custom kernel first then custom rom. I think we can have jellybean 4.3 or later kitkat once we are dipped in.

Huawei is sending unlock bootloader code for others, but not for me.

I have CHM-U01 and wanted to root it.
SO as mentioned in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61961376&postcount=94
i did everything exactly like that.
So huawei responded to me:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Please apply the unlock code in our website http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=hwdownload&mod=list.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.

I replied that there is no such model in this website giving them gif:
https://gfycat.com/PerfumedImpartialIridescentshark
So this is what HUAWEI replied:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Sorry that there have no bootloader unlock code for CHM-U01 items.
By default , you can do fastboot downloading for some images directly without Unlocking bootloader..
We suggest you'd better not root your device which would avoid the warranty and maybe cause it freeze.
Once again thank you for contacting Huawei device.
Best Regards.

Me too! I'm going to try and contact the Devs for twrp or Cwm and see if I can get a source code. Might be able to compile it myself for us when I get to my desktop. Is there support for lineage yet?

Fla-lx1. I've been actively looking for a way to root it safely, as huawei is going to stop unlocking bootloaders in less than 2 months. I did find a way to root it on a russian site, but i don't trust it.
I'd appreciate any development or help! thank you.

You're not with lucky, FLA-AL have 4 different Firmware releases so far and FLA-LX# have zero !
Without firmware released for your device you don't have a starting point.
@HatemB
what's your build ?
Example : Huawei P20L - ANE-LX1 8.0.0.126(C432)
Huawei Y9 - FLA-LX2 8.0.0.121 (C636)
@RememberZ
Only for FLA-AL or FLA-TL Firmware find with FirmwareFinder.
You need for your Device FULL-Update. Without FULL-Update it's very danger to flash anything.
If after flashing 1 error in phone - you have NO chance for self-repair !
@JamesBott
It's fla-lx1c185. I will wait in order to have a safer rooting process. But I do have a related question. I unlocked the bootloader, with no other modification. Will i receive updates normally? OTA and such.
@HatemB
if stock-rom installed OTA-Updates incomming "normaly" and you can install.
Only "point of attention" is : OTA-Updates need stock-recovery for install, not work with TWRP. That's all.
Bootloader unlockt OR lockt is the same : no differences for install.
i have Bootloader unlockt, TWRP installed, OTA-Updates incomming, i am copy Update to external-sd, flash stock-recovery and install the update. Thats work.
Me too need root and twrp
Actually, since Huawei is no longer providing Unlock Codes, it's almost impossible to find a solution. There's a chance with DC-Unlocker which calculates the Bootloader Unlock Code for 5 Euros or so. I was Asked for 20€ for the same service.

How to get device unlock code ?

Hello,
I've an old Huawei Y6 (SCL-U31) and I'd like to unlock it to install a custom rom but I'm struggling to get it to work since Huawei doesn't provide these codes.
Any idea how to get my unlock code without paying ?
Thanks in advanced.
there is no way some country support apps may help but i ve tried and got none. hate this phone, app2sd blocked, 16gb but i have 3 gb after setup. cant install any app because of that. all people asked for huawei to unlock that feature but answer is always a no. this brand works for only top edge phones.

I used DC-Unlocker to read the bootloader code, its a paid service though (4€)
I think it's totally worth it, i'm now running Lineage 14.1 and my SCL-L01 already feels like a new phone. This phone was never good but at least now it's a decent spare.

OPPO just released the source code of Find X2 series

oppo-source
oppo-source has 115 repositories available. Follow their code on GitHub.
github.com
And also there are TWRPs for both Android 10 and Android 11.
Sorry that global versions cannot unlock the bootloader. I will keep asking OPPO to do something for you non-Chinese users.
Hi
Can you tell us how to proceed to contact oppo and ask them to consider bootloader unlock for global user ?

Write an email to Oppo support and wait. Afaik they released the deeptesting application to Indian users on the Find X2 (only?) so hopefully we might get it eventually.

Are you aware that both CPH2023 and CPH2025 use the same firmware? (this has been repeated on several websites and forums)Therefore they also share one git repo.
