I am currently developing a twrp device tree for the Gigaset GS4.

Everything is working so far but there is one major problem.
The Data Directory is unreadable:

This is probably due to encryption.
Things i figured out:
- the device has a metadata partition
- the device uses file base encryption
- twrp does not ask for a password
This is the output of twrp decrypt:
Gigaset_GS4:/ # twrp decrypt twrptest
Attempting to decrypt data partition or user data via command line.
Failed to decrypt data.
Gigaset_GS4:/ #
General information:
- build using twrp-10.0 twrp-minimal-manifest
- stock rom: android 10
- chipset: mt6771
Help would be appreciated!

Good job sir
Updated to resolve a few issues with baseband checks.
Great work! One odd error message when I backup a ROM:

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
I encountered two issues.
1.
This package is for "OnePlus2" devices; this is a "".
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file '[filename]'
2.unable to wipe /data -- unknown file system 'auto0'
I later used twrp 3.2.1, and the issues were gone so this should be the problem.
This TWRP is unusable with device encryption. "decrypt took too long", decryption fails every time.
How come this version does not support backup of the EFS partition?
I am using TWRP 3.3.1 Test 2, i found a bug that this twrp cant flash stock rom OOS last rom, its showing Error 7, I am not blind, i flashed OnePlus 2 Rom only. Check this issue

If you're anything like me you were itching to modify your Galaxy Fold and with the help of some very helpful folks in the community I've so far managed to achieve the following:
- Device rooted
- Magisk installed
- Encryption disabled
- Process authentication disabled
- Debloated (to my requirements)
The things I have not yet managed to achieve are:
- No custom kernel (no kernel sources released yet despite 4 requests! >_>)
- No TWRP (same reason as above - can't build a kernel for it until we have kernel sources.)
Once the custom kernel is out I'll draft together a guide for the whole process end-to-end of unlocking the bootloader, rooting the device, installing TWRP and installing Magisk.
Just holding off for now until we have a working recovery since if you do something wrong and break your Fold without a recovery you're in a very bad position.
Wow!
Fantastic news
I'm guessing this is for the oversea models? Not the unlocked an att
Sorry for bumping and old thread but..

Hi,
i've been looking into jailbreaking the micsig sato 1004 scope, which runs android 11 on some aarch64 rockchip SoC as far as i can tell so far. Both developer mode and installation of third party apps is blocked.
I found out how to get into upgrade mode, which exposes the device through usb for use with the rkdeveloptool:

github.com
This allowed me to download the full storage image, which looks like this:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(ignore the unallocated 436gb at the end, i flashed the image to an ssd for easier access)
Sifting through the boot partition in an hex editor, i noticed that the default serial interface should be active.
My goal is to root the device and enable the installation of third party apps.
I was wondering what would be the smartest choice to do from here on? I was thinking opening it up and hooking up the serial port - but i would very much like not to open it up just yet, if any of you has a better suggestion.
