Received my new Armadillotek Vanguard case for my S20+ today. Already was using a Samsung Rugged Protective Case but wanted more protection when out and about and I had recently returned a Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro case due to it's incompatibility with the Whitestone Dome Glass Protector. The inner frame of the Supcase pressed on the lower right corner of my old glass protector causing it to lift and detach from the phone.
The case came in good packaging with a yellow thank you card and support information which was a nice touch. The case itself has roughly the same dimensions as the Supcase. As I initially test-fitted the case I was VERY PLEASED to find out that the frame did not touch or push on the WD glass protector (unlike the Supcase) and there was clearance all-around. The frame is then inserted into the tpu/plastic cover and the fit is perfect. The kickstand is different that the Supcase as it lifts out from the end as opposed to from the middle but it works just as well and appears sturdy. The plastic back has a very deep rear camera cutout so am not worried if it happens to drop on the ground. Side and front protection is on par with other rugged cases like the Supcases and with the glass protector it allows for good protection.
All in all, it appears to be a very protective case that was perfect for my needs: 1) good protection; 2) kickstand; and 3) Whitestone Dome Glass compatibility. Sounds like a keeper!

Don't be an idiot.
@GeoFX
That case looks downright scary.

Hey there I figured this might be of some use to anybody wanting the ultimate "ruggedized" protection for their Note 3.
It is well-known that the added thickness of some tempered glass screen protectors will prevent some of the most rugged cases from being used (as is the case with Otterboxes apparently). So, should you be stuck with a cheap TPU case while having the best protection for your screen??! No!
The usual rule of thumb dictates that any case with hard plastic parts that snap together (front and back) will not work, alas if it covers too much of the phone's face. It cannot flex so it cannot clip closed. Futhermore, if it DOES close, it might put a lot of pressure on the phone or protector, as well as potentially make your protector lift. We don't want that.
There are, however, 2 rugged cases that you can use with glass protectors. I did the tests with a MIME USA Ghost glass (0.32mm thickness) so any protector of equal or inferior thickness will work.
1: Ballistic SG MAXX
2: Trident Case Kraken AMS
With Ballistic's case I'm pretty sure one would be able to fit one of the thicker protectors such as the regular Spigen (0.4mm), as you only have rubber corners going over the screen.
Hope this can help.
Sent from my SM900W8 Note 3 using xda-devs app. And my fingers.
Does a ruggedized case really give you that much extra protection or is it placebo effect? I've dropped my phone a bunch of times onto either my tile floor or garage asphalt/sidewalk and never had problems with screen or body damage- all without a "ballistic" type of case. In fact all I do is put a tempered glass protector on it and a bumper around the edges- because when you drop your device, it's usually those areas that are the vulnerable points.
Other than protecting the edges and front glass, why make a device thicker than it needs to be with a $50 case if the back cover itself is $5-$10 to replace?
They have 2 different ones and not sure which to order
They have the standard .33mm thickness
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KGSW734/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KWPUPYXPDIUY
And they have a .2mm thickness for slightly more $$
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L619698/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3KWPUPYXPDIUY
Anyone running either protector?

I have no experience with iCarez, but I ended up ordering the 0.33 mm because the Spigen ones are out of stock so I went with the cheapest one to hold me over until the GLAS.tr is back in stock. I prefer how the spigen one just has a cutout for the earpiece, not a whole cutout for the ambient sensors and camera.
Between the two you linked, I doubt you will notice the difference between the two. 0.13mm is about the thickness of a piece of paper.

Ok went ahead and ordered the .33mm version and a Spigen case slim case.
I have the .33MM and it is exactly the same as the Zagg (rounded edges and all) if you have any experience with those. As a matter of fact, it uses the same installation film and I would bet they are the same. I prefer the thicker shields. I am had a lot of bad luck with the thinner versions chipping on the edges.
I saw those but didn't go with it because it has no protection above the speaker. That shape cutout may make it more noticeable, and also it will make it easier to crack the very top - and cracks spread.
Well got the glass in today. Got to say it's my first glass protector and I like it. My spigen case has a 1mm raised lip to protect the screen so this fit perfect with it..
I was able to install first try, no bubbles no dirt underneath woohoo.

Same here. First glass screen and I'm using the same case. I'm really impressed with the glass.
Is the included clear case tempered glass screen protector friendly, or does it lift it up from corners? Any recommendations for screen protector? And if that included one is no good, also recommendation for clear case is appreciated.
im using the MOFI full screen tempered glass screen protector with the factory case without issue.... just too bad the MOFi looks like a oild slick in the middle of the screen otherwise it would be perfect
I bought a Spigen case which is, as usual, nice and protective.
For the tempered glass, i bought a Force Glass ($$$) which is really nice to touch without fingers trails, but finally it's ****. Like all the S8/S9 (not dome glass) it's only glued with the edges and not very well, so it'll become dirty fast . And if you look at it under a bright sun you don't see anything.
I don't recommend to buy this "way too expansive" Force glass! I regret it! 2$ glass will do a better job.
Am I not right in thinking this phone comes with a screen protector already on it.? Mine looks like it does, obv don't want to try and take it off in case it is one lol... Came with a clear case too
Cheap tempered glass + clear case (Huawei case)
I used the clear case which came with the phone as for tempered glass I used a cheap (£1.99) from eBay.
The tempered glass covers the screen almost perfect. It isn't edge to edge, but it is wide as the screen.
The glass hasn't got a good oleophobic coating, but is better than the plastic one and has adhesive on entire surface. (i would add a photo but I've got no clue how?
Hi all, is there any spigen neo hybrid alternative for Huawei P20 Pro?
Hi, any issues getting the tempered glass on with the Spigen case? Thanks

I've applied Zabra tempered glass (Amazon purchase) without any bubbles but after applying the Huawei clear case, edges came out, disabling my screen touch features.
Highly not recommended to buy this "Zabra full glue 9H tempered glass screen protector"
On of the best tempered glass for P20 PRO is Nillkin the hall series..
I have try Nillkin amazing H (3mm cover real screen leave 2mm at the edges case friendly) Nillkin amazing H+ (2,6mm cover real screen leave 2mm at the edges case friendly best clarity) & Nillkin CP-MAX 3D (3mm Full Cover edge to edge full adhesive full glue)
They are all fit perfect with excellent fit & clarity
No bubbles, no rainbow effect, no halo effect, no dot matrix, no fingerprints
I prefer CP-MAX 3D for full protection with original clear silicone case or ipaky case
I have bought the Spigen tempered glass screen protector and Spigen Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear case recently
those side adhesive screen protectors suck!!!
whitestone is loca based and because of that full adhesive and it will be released in a week or so on amazon. great feel to the proctector, just like the original screen, no 3d dot matrix, no problems with touch sensitivity, almost no fingerprints and if they are gone with one wipe and so on.
i will get it asap since it's doing fantastic on my note 8 for over 9 months now.
i got the spigen rugged armour and i love it. Feels great in your hands. its like velvety soft. Using this with the stock screen protector, which i feel is sufficient for me
i just wish spigen released the ultra hybrid clear case with a built in kickstand for this phone.
I've never used a protector on my previous phones but opted for the Spigen and think it's great. Had it in five days now, doesn't get too messy from fingerprints and only issue with haloing was my fault, had to take it off a couple times as I want happy with how I put it on. Used it in direct sunlight and was amazed, after one Samsung and two Sony's I can actually read my phone outside"

I bought the Spigen Slim Armor case ( £15 ) and Spigen Tempered Glass ( about £8 ) and am very happy with both. I moved from Otterbox a few years ago when I couldn't see a decent case that I liked. I've had 4 Spigen cases for various phones so far and have never been let down to date
ESR products for me fits perfectly
It looks like there are not much good options for this phone (compared to my last one), I have ordered the spigen ultra hybrid (transparent) & tempered glass combo.
I'll post photos with the result
Do some regions not get an included case? I just bought this device yesterday in Canada and there was no case with it.
Spigen crystal clear case and Nillkin Amazing H+ for tempered screen. Trust me, this glass protector is the only one I have found to not retain fingerprints and to stick perfectly and evenly on the 20 pro. If you correctly align it with the edges of the screen, there will be no air pocket whatsoever. It's impressive.
Anybody know the brand of this screen protector and where I can get one? I'm most interested because, well, it's full screen and not just adhesive around the edge. But also the guy mentioned it works with the case I'm going to be using ( UAG ) .
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FymSOb_3vOs
Anyone know of a armor case that protects the front and the back? all i can find now is a back case.
spigen rugged armour is the best case

this its perfect to me , he has a tempered glass protector to.
Now it starting to look like something but I'm still looking for something that covers the whole phone, and is easy to put togheter and apart since I want to use it at work. I have a dirty job so..
I remember I've had a full armor case for my HTC one m8, it was waterproof and shock proof and it was like the phone was laying in a bed inside the cover. It was big, but that's ok since I could carry it anywhere at work.

I bought these from eBay for like £2 each. They are quite OK. Build quality is crap. Feels like cheap plastic and the phone doesn't look premium at all u line what you see in the images. The cut-out for the fingerprint reader curs off a small bit of the screen about 1mm.and the screen protector cracks very easy. Avoid like the plague especially at that price.
Just get a uag plasma case and put on tempered glass in front. :good:

I cant find a good case for ROG 3 on flipkart of Amazon. Which case are you guys using? where did you buy it from??
I am using Lighting Armor case as I need to use the air trigger. If you do not care for the function of air triggers (dual & slide), can get IMAK case from aliexpress.
I'm also using the lighting armour , I like it ok it drains power but I still like it
I am using the average tpu case that is available for rog 3, i had to make cut out for the side mounted type c ports though
I'm using this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001345047036.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5d6e4c4d4DwYCq
It's not perfect, but provides enough all around protection, the cutouts are in place.
The included tempered glass screen protector is of good quality, but the black border covers a few pixels on the sides.
It's pretty cheap, I can recommend buying it to protect your ROG Phone 3 - as I said, it's not perfect, but good enough.
Using this one with a tempered glass in the front and a silicon film in the back
I have ordered this IMAK transparent black TPU case with extra corner shock-proofing along with these IMAK clear soft hydrogel films for front & back protection.
Hopefully shipment arriving to me by early next month.
Used to use the lighting armor case until the slippery uncovered aluminium side caused me to drop the phone yesterday, now the phone has a dent on the top right corner of the frame. Lighting armor has the best look of all the cases out there. Now using Zshow case which should prevent it from hitting the screen flat down if I ever drop it again. I'm lucky the phone didn't fall face down with the lighting armor case which would have guaranteed a cracked screen.
I have the imak tpu case too but it cause the tempered glass to lift.
Besides the tempered glass being lifted issue, what's your experience/ feedback regarding your IMAK TPU case (is it with extra corner protection)?
Imak case is quite loose around the air triggers, power button, volume button and side port. Top 4 corner airbags are the problems as they can be depressed quite easily and this cause the screen protector to lift up. You will know when you hold the phone on your right hand with your palm resting with the bottom right corner for support, and this can cause the screen protector to lift.
I'm getting the hydrogel film screen protectors - Hoping that screen lift is not an issue.....
What's your experience or opinion regarding the general damage/ drop protection with this case?
Quality, overall fitting & feel?
It will protect if dropping on the corners as well as face down. However dropping on the back might be a problem because the camera lens are protuting out (although the case cover the camera lens). Placing the phone on the table will also result in wobbly phone when using.
---------- Post added at 06:15 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:13 AM ----------
Quality, would say it is better than those generic cheap tpu case (which has worse fit than imak), feel wise, it is slippery on the back.
I just received this: Foluu ROG Phone 3 Case through Amazon. £6.71. To hold it without the phone it doesn't feel great and whilst over the standard case it comes with its bulkier I feel so much safer knowing my camera wont get scratched when I put the phone down. It also raises of the front screen by a minuet amount so there is a bump as you move your finger about. I'd rather that than a nasty scratch though so happy with it.
Air trigger holes and extra power connector cut out too as well as on the back a nice design

It covers the side? The picture on amazon looks like it is an open side design. I don't see slapping that case will provide a good grip.

I am using Asus Original Screen Protector without antibacterial coating. The antibacterial protector is not available in my country. Great protector, no blocking of edge unlike the cheap china protector which has thick black borders and block the edges of the display.

Thanks for this, I did think about getting this over.
I'm using the magnetic flip case which is great, but no front lip so don't drop the thing like I did, broke my display as the screen protector didn't quite cover all of it and a tiny stone hit the outer edge.
Not the end though as I've bought another, and will get it repaired under insurance consider it a lesson learned.

FEEDBACK
Took about 5 weeks to arrive (from China).
This IMAK case is good build quality and fit over all, could have been a bit more snug - the extra corner padding does not make it look slick, and I am not sure if it is worth it on balance.
There is a 2 mm lip all around the front panel to help with screen protection.
Cut-outs are spot on - including for air-triggers/ 3 mics/ heat vent/ side USB ports. No cut-out for SIM-tray though but it's better this way.
Camera module is fairly well protected.
No issues with air-trigger related squeeze gestures.
The Hydrogel clear gel screen protector had a ?extra notch cut-out just left of the front camera (?? why) but otherwise the rest of the dimensions were spot on. It came as a set of x2 in one pack, which was a nice surprise. Included a helpful set of instructions/ link to video.
I preferred it to be short by about 1 mm all around the edges to minimise the risk of "lift" when the case is compressed in pockets/ when using the squeeze gestures etc.
The touch feel is smooth and has a good response. Visibility through this screen film is fine; no glare issues. I prefer these type of gel screen protectors to glass.
Has anyone come across a case that doesn't need to be removed when connecting to the accessories (eg Twinview, Mobile Desktop Dock)?
