Unlocked Verizon V60 unable to add APN - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Bit of a **** show here, but I purchased a T-Mobile V60 via Ebay but was sent a Verizon version instead. I'm in Canada on Telus and so I'm not getting any signal connection at all and the Mobile Networks option is greyed out so I cannot add an APN.
Is there a way to get Mobile Networks unlocked?

On Another Network

So I have me an Orange- UK sim card coming. My AT&T Galaxy S2 Is unlocked. I was wanting to test this in the states before everything. Its Prepaid but Orange Prepaid WORKS on T-Mobile in the USA. Since Network Selection is locked down Is there anyway to Select T-Mobile? Cause I know network secltion is locked. And yes the Phone is SIM UNLOCKED so I know it will take the sim card. its just will it connect to the T-Mobile Network?
It will work for calls. But Internet will only be edge. 3g and 4g(h+) for tmobile are run on a band this phone doesn't have.

But would my phone be able to get on the T-Mobile network at all since I can't select networks? And also idk about the att version but the T-Mobile galaxy s2 has the ATT 3g bands. But data does not matter. I just needed an UK number here in the states so calls and texts are just fine. But would it easily connect to the T-Mobile network without selecting it? Since it won't let me

Just do a search for tmobile apn's. Putting in the right apn will 'select' your carrier. Calling and internet will work fine. Just limited to edge. Tmobile phones are 100% compatible with at&t networks.

Sense it is similar unlocked it is network unlocked. Once you put your similar in and reboot it will go through the network set up again saying it detected a new similar card. After that it will connect fine. As for the data he is right the ATT version only supports ATT 3G or better bands, but as you said the data doesn't matter. If it doesn't automatically go through you can go into settings and select wireless networks and there is an option to scan for networks. Just select T-Mobile if that is what your carrier will run on. Not sure how it will react sense it will be roaming on that network though
On the att galaxy s2 it won't allow u to do network scan it search unless running miui rom

It would if your sim card prefers T-Mobile network. Although you can't manually select networks, SIM card contains instructions as to which network it prefers to use. There is really no need to manually select networks unless you don't like what the SIM carrier prefers.

Using another carrier at will with ROM for better reception?

I feel pretty stupid asking this question seeing as I put this ROM on myself and ought to know everything about it. It's Neutrino GT for the Atrix 4G. I have AT&T for my provider, and I have poor reception at my home. I recently had to switch to my backup Atrix with the ROM, and I noticed that it is using U.S. Cellular, which provides full EDGE reception. Obviously nothing amazing, but still better than what I was getting with AT&T. I also have the option of using T-Mobile.
My question is..Is this only possible because of the ROM, or is there another piece of android development that allows this to happen without actually roaming? I want to get another phone and be able to have this option, but I need to understand how it's possible to have the option to use other carriers at will.
Where did you get your backup Atrix? It has been SIM (network) unlocked if its an AT&T and you can use it on other networks. That's not the ROM.

I bought the Atrix off eBay long while back, and I did unlock it. Although my SGSIII GT-I9300 only seemed to be able to connect to the AT&T carrier (unless roaming), and not have this option. Additionally, I have an AT&T SIM in it. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post a picture yet on my post being new, but under Settings > Mobile Networks > Network operators > Available Networks, it will list AT&T, AT&T, U.S. Cellular (or USA Unicel), and T-Mobile. On my SGSIII, it only listed the two AT&T networks. This is all with just the AT&T SIM in it. If you dial a wrong number when it's under U.S. Cellular, it will even go through the whole "Hello, this is U.S. Cellular..The number you have reached..." bit.

Help with International Roaming and/or Simcard

I am traveling in Asian and my phone won't connect to any local carriers for roaming at all. It just says no signal at all times. I have enabled roaming access and played around with network mode to no avail. Network search does show a bunch of local carriers. Was I supposed to contact Verizon when I was still in the States to allow international roaming?
I have also tried a local prepaid simcard and the result was the same -- no signal and no connection. I thought all Verizon phones come sim unlocked?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Yes you have to turn international roaming on through verizon

enabling mobile hotspot

vs987 using a Verizon sim from Net10 wireless. When trying to enable it I get an error: Mobile number not found. Prior to installing the Verizon sim, I had an at&t sim and would get an error: Verizon sim card not found. I've been able to use the pdanet app and desktop utility for Windows successfully but there are obvious limitations.
Does anyone know if this is a Carrier limitation.. has anyone had problems using this with any other model, specifically the u.s. unlocked rs988?
Thinking of ditching this model for the rs988 but need to know if I can use the mobile hotspot with a Verizon mvno sim or at&t mvno sim..
Thanks in advance
Anyone with the factory unlocked rs988?
anyone with the u.s. unlocked model that can use the wifi tethering/mobile hotspot feature, on any network, could you please sound off.. thanks..
Confirmed..
So I just got an rs988.. mobile hotspot is unlocked. Currently using a Verizon Sim on NET10 wireless.. It appears that Verizon locks this down when not using their network. LAME.

S10 SM-G973U1 AT&T Prepaid Wifi Calling

Hi, I'm new here.
I own Universal Unlocked Samsung S10 Model # SM-G973U1 purchased directly from Samsung. I originally activated it on the Boost Mobile network and Ive decided to switch to AT&T prepaid service. I find out that the SM-G973U1 apparently wont utilize the AT&T Wifi Calling (Per: AT&T Forum). I was informed I'd need the SM-G973U.
I'm also not sure if I'm even getting the 4g connection (My phone shows LTE, LTE+, H, H+ and no connection).
I believe I have bad cell reception in my house.
If I were to install the SM-G973U firmware onto my SM-G973U1, would this solve my problem?
Will my phone still be an Universal unlocked phone?
If I choose to switch back to the SM-G973U1 firmware should I be OK?
Would I need to do the same if I were to switch to T-Mobile?
Would I be better off switching to T-Mobile?
Any other thoughts about this topic I should be aware of?
Thank you for your time.
Robert
