Motorola Droid RAZR Battery Life Tips & Tricks

Since Motorola has built its Droid Razr in such a way that you cannot remove its battery, it has sure become a concern to many who are intending to buy or have already bought the Razr. You cannot use an extended battery with the Droid Razr since you cannot swap the in-built battery. It is also one of the slimmest smartphones available and with an application called Smart Actions Motorola has tried to do away with battery related fears. This app allows you to decide which applications or tasks should be assigned to the phone. The Smart Actions you can now have a say on the apps which should auto start when you boot your phone. It allows you to switch off the other apps you would not require frequently.
Motorola claims in one of the videos it uses to promote the Smart Actions app that the user can increase the phone’s battery life by almost 30% if they switch of some of the tasks using the app. This will allow the battery to be used only for the apps which are important and designated. This app even lowers the brightness of the screen by adjusting the settings if you ask it to. This helps you to change the screen’s brightness every time you feel that the battery strength is on the decline. A low brightness level will indeed help you to save your battery for more important tasks.
Apart from this, you can also use portable battery packs to extend the life of your Droid Razr’s battery. These are devices or accessories which you can carry along with you wherever you go and you can charge up to two mobile devices using these. You can then play games, listen to music, surf or talk endlessly with these portable battery packs which allow your Razr to be working extensively.

[APP][SHARE] Seeder Entropy Generator : Provides Significant Lag Reduction

Hi everyone
Seeder is an app that aims to reduce lag by 90% on Android.
It uses different method of generating random numbers which improves IO scheduling and in turn reduces lag. I have tried it on my G3 and it does help while loading apps like Google Maps and browsing.
This only works on 2.2+. I have tested it on CM7.2.

Here's the official XDA Thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987032
Google Play Link - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lcis.seeder
It's a paid app on the Play store but the dev has uploaded it to xda for free. The paid app is for donation.
I am JUST sharing this app and telling you guys that this works on our G3. Not affiliated with anyone.
You should mention that it also drains the battery and it's not perfectly working yet so it's a work in progress. Many people have said that all it does it keep the CPU speeds higher and wake the CPU every second or something so the phone doesn't go into deep sleep. This is why the battery dies quicker and when I was using it I also noticed the battery drain.

Indeed.
I did give it a shot, noticed a slight difference (perhaps a placebo) but it sure did reduce my battery life by 70%.
It's proved by Google devs themselves that this IS a placebo effect.
Here's their input -
The only users of /dev/random are libcrypto (used for cryptographic operations like SSL connections, ssh key generation, and so on), wpa_supplicant/hostapd (to generate WEP/WPA keys while in AP mode), and the libraries that generate random partition IDs when you do an ext2/3/4 format. None of those 3 users are in the path of app execution, so feeding random from urandom does nothing except make random… well… less random
So, this is pretty useless. Yeah.

I am sharing this app because not to gain thanks i want people benefit from this
I also tried One Power Guard after seeing it mentioned on a recent XDA TV episode. For me it seems to slow things down, which was probably a problem with the way I have things set up (I wonder if this was caused by a combination of One Power Guard and my use of Link2SD?). I installed it and the slow-down went away.
This should be posted in the Themes/Apps board. This app looks pretty good, the overlay on the home screen is awesome. Do you use it in conjunction with the built in power saver or do you just use this app?

LG OPTIMUS G E970 Android OS battery drain

Hi, i have some problems with this process, in battery use from settings, the android OS has a BIG BATTERY DRAIN, this works since the phone is unplugged, and my phone haven`t deep sleep, i lose 2-3% percent per hour in better battery stats the phone is awake ALL TIME and CPU SPY show me the lowest frequency is 384mhz and deep sleep doesn`t exist HELP ME PLEASE
Have you tried turning off all non-important services and sync , and see if that helps ??
Also there are some after market applications available on play-store that prevents such wake ups , by killing them. I couldn't recall them properly but I think they are named as Deep Sleep battery saver or something similar.
You can also use android tuner , to see what are the causes behind that.(Task manager has extensive features to look and control them.)
i havent active services (auto sync off, facebook notifications off, messenger off, gps off, google location off, etc), so i dont know what happen ill try to post some screen of my battery uses, this may help, thanks man! and sorry for my english
try some app like android tuner , it'll tell you which specific process is keeping it alive . It'l give more detailed insights into the running tasks.

FAQ
1. Does it help to battery ?
Yes.
2. How it works? and Could you give more details?
Coolify is designed to cool your device's temp down by tweaking system values, like VM and systcl... it does the battery tweak. only 80 tweaks.
More tweaks like that.
XTweak, Tweak script
It doesn't change any CPU frequencries or Governors. you can look at the /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/.
3. About cooling effect
ROMs are different and The cooling effect is not the same, 80% of the ROMs has cooling effect, no all ROMs work perfect. because Too many ROMs
4. Why is Coolify needed to run on Foreground?
It can be set as background by turning off the notification in settings interface. I just make the cooling service is not easy to be killed by system.
5. Will your "One Power Guard" app conflict with this one? Or installing both of them are A-OK?
They do not have any conflicts and the core optimization is a part of OPG, it is able to install both of them.
6. Permission Description
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - To set as boot
android.permission.GET_TASKS - To determine whether Coolify's cooling service is running and show UI
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - To write error log to help solve any issues you might be facing and count the number of devices
android.permission.BATTERY_STATS - To get battery temperature
android.permission.INTERNET - To upgrade this app
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To determine the network is available and to upgrade
android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE - To store certain exception information in server logs
android.permission.ACCESS_SUPERUSER - To get root access
