Question [Help] Stuck in bootloop :( - Redmi Note 10

Hey guys,
TL;DR: I was on crDroid and decided to flash the latest dotOS 5.2 to try it out. I forgot to remove my password, but since Ofox asked for it to decrypt storage I thought it wouldn't be a problem. I then did a factory reset with Ofox (data, cache and dalvik) and flashed dotOS. Now phone bootloops and I can't flash anything via adb. Please help, I am low key freaking out.
These were the steps I followed:
In OrangeFox I wiped Data, Dalvik and Cache/Metadata and flashed dotOS via adb sideload. I also flashed Magisk and OrangeFox. When I rebooted I got stuck in dotOS logo.
I then booted into TWRP (via fastboot boot) and reflashed just dotOS, no Magisk or Ofox this time (and also no wipes). I again got stuck in dotOS logo animation.
I then booted into TWRP again and tried to Wipe Data Factory Reset and adb sideload a ROM, but TWRP is unable to complete it or run adb sideload because I don't have access to the Data partition.
I get these errors:
"Password failed, please try again!" when trying to decript Data partition with my password.
ErrorCorde::kError when trying to adb sideload a ROM
"Failed to mount '/data' (invalid argument)" when trying to Factory Reset with TWRP
What should be my next steps? I am still in the market for an SD card, so using one is unfortunatelly not an option right now.

Crisis averted boys, all good in the hood. Had to format everything though! Will def be using an SD card ASAP.

In time like these always just use fastboot tool to flash rom and then format data It almost solves all the problems almost every time

Just relax bro. Just install twrp and find the rom that can flash. As first before on crdroid they back the twrp and replace ofox because it's bug .aside from ofox. Everytime you change rom always format dalvikart, metadata, data, internal storage then formated enter yes.clean flash is recommended. Just use for now twrp .

help! i am running out of storage space after messing up with twrp partitions

helo buddies!!
i am using RN3 snapdragon version.
i unlocked bootloader and installed TWRP and flashed CM13
after rebooting , i observed it was unstable, so i did "factory reset in twrp".
thats what created everything..then there was no OS to reboot!! somehow
i installed AOSP ROM and rebooted it, But soon after rebooting within minutes storage space is going to kilobytes!!!
i rebooted many times and there was no change.
everytime after wiping cache and data in twrp, storage space is reaching to 25gb and in minutes it is falling to kilobytes.
should i repair system storage to FAT ?

Some images would be very nice. Plus give some more detailed description as to what is happening. What do you see in twrp, device etc.
First of all, clean flash a miui rom via miflash and select format data and storage....
After you're done, check if the problem persist and unlock your bootloader again....

Alright. First install and flash twrp from official site.
Then go to wipe, advance wipe, and then click on repair file system. Give me snapshot of data cache and system from it.

Your data partition seems to be fine in twrp. Try some partition info apps to check whether its system problem or something else.
But i can tell you, your partition table is fine. If you can try flashing a fastboot rom via miflash in edl mode.
I have encountered this problem last week, what I did was by formatting /data via TWRP (the one which including internal storage) and it gets fixed!

Need help desperatrely

Hello everyone,
So I need some expert help desperately, I've completely messed up my phone I think.
btw I have Moto X 2014 (victara) smartphone. It has bootloader unlocked & twrp custom recovery
Till yesterday I was using Resurrection remix rom, then I decided to go back to lineage. So i flashed lineage. Everything was working smoothly at this point. Lineage installed fine, I setup my phone, installed few apps, set a pattern lock (also set up to require at start) & encrypted. I rebooted the phone, & this is where everything went to hell....
lineage won't accept my pattern giving wrong pattern error. So I didn't panic then, i booted into twrp, twrp also asked for same pattern, it didn't work in twrp either. I pressed cancel in twrp, then proceeded to install lineage again. Again lineage got installed but damn it asked for pattern again.
So went back into recovery, now to my horror, twrp shows sdcard as empty & if I reboot I get stuck on motorola boot logo.
Current Status:
What can i do:
boot into twrp that's it
Backup:
nandroid backup was in my phone itself. But now twrp can't see it, so I can't do restore
Please is there anything I can do to recover my phone. Or am I ****ed & its a brick now?
Any help is greatly appreciated, please

Ah, you need to FORMAT data via twrp! That'll decrypt your phone.
And also, remove your SD card, DL any Rom & Gapps, reinsert it, flash Rom using SD card. It'll boot.

umm... this phone doesn't have sdcard
update: I formatted data from twrp successfully. Then pushed lineage via adb to sdcard & installed it. Lineage got stuck on boot animation, start screen would flash after some time & then return to boot animation, weird.
So now back in twrp, under advanced wipe both davlik/art cache & internal storage give "invalid partition selection" error, when I click on repair or change file system
I suspect this is definitely causing all the problems, any idea what to do now?

Cannot Flash Rom / Restore - Error 7, Error 1001, Cannot mount System

Hey everybody,
I was on LOS 15.1 for a rather long time and I wanted to try RR, so as usual I backed up my system and tried to flash the RR-rom.
It did not work at all and I got several errors among which error 7 and the unability to mount system partition were the most prominent.
The device got bricked several times but I got it back to life with MiFlashTool, running either MIUI 8.5 or MIUI 9.
The strange thing is that even after flashing the MIUI-img - and basically bringing the device back to its factory firmware - I could not flash a rom.
I tried several recoverys; the latest TWRP, the TWRP linked in the LOS15.1 thread and OrangeFoxRecovery. None of them would work. I wiped all partition, nothing worked. I got different errors shown, most of them were error 7 or not being ablke to mount system, as stated before.
Right now I am back to MIUI and rooted it, which worked from OrangeFox, but I actually would like tzo run a custom rom again.
Any idea what I could do?
Cheers!
Noone who has an idea why it would not work?
I thought that after flashing via Flashtool the phone would be as good as new and all prioir changes would be gone? Wha can I not flash anything via recovery and get erros?
Or are there different versions of Orange Fox Recovery? RR would be treble, so I would need a treble recovery.
Cheers!
Have you tried to format internal storage?
If not backup data in sdcard or pc and format it using recovery.
Are you using trble supported recoveries?
Did you encrypted your data while using Lineage OS?
Hey,
well, yes, I encrypted data but since reinstalling MIUI via Flashtool this is gone. And I thought that this should be enough and reflashing it via MiFlash is like a factory reset? Is there anything I did not consider?
After Flashtool did not do the trick, wiped everything but External memory in TWRP, no kelp either.
I also did the normal wipe (where you dont have to choose which partition), this did not help.
As I said, I am currently on the latest OrangeFox Recovery but I also tried the latest TWRP and the TWRP in the LOS 15.1-Thread, which did not help.
To my knowledge all of the are treble recoverys?
I also tried to restore a vackup of LOS which did not work...
I flashed

When you reply quote, I didn't get notifications for your reply.
Your bootloader is unlocked and you installed Twrp recovery.
Try copying Rom zip to SD card and wipe system, data, cache, dalviks cache, internal storage (exclude sd card off course). Then install it.
It should work
As I said, I did all of this, yet it does not work.
After wiping I tried to flash RR rom...
I get "Patching system image unconditionally...
Then I get E1001: Failed to update system image. (in white)
Updater process ended with: ERROR 7 (in red)
Error installing zip file 'patch...' (in red)
Updating partition details (in white)
Failed to mount '/system' (Invalid Argument) (in red).
As I said, that happens with different recoverys and different roms (treble and non treble)

Are you sure the Rom you installating is for your device because error 7 occured if the rom you are trying install is not for your device.
Yes, of course, it was the correct ROM. Before error 7 I got error 1001 and I guess this was the initial problem.
My guess it that the problem was the decrypted partition which I did not format in twrp in my first go. Every wipe and format afterwards somehow did not help...
Now after having flashed recovery and different roms 10 times and using miflash 10 times it worked and now I am on RR. Don't ask me what eventually did the trick.

Great to know
I hated MIUI because of the bloatware and ads. Have fun using RR. If you want you can use Liquid Remix Pie its a great ROM.
Yes. I also did not like MIUI that much, that's why I was using Lineage before I wanted to try RR: Thanks for the advice for anothe rom.
i fix this issue by format data, not only wipe then restart the recovery and install the ROM, then finally it works !

If I format data, then I have to reboot into the recovery menu to be able to use data again. But this is impossible, because it gets stuck into the bootloop every time I try to reboot. Any other option to fix this error?
EDIT:
I could fix it myself:
1. MIUI latest version; flash with MiFlash.
2. flash TWRP with e.g. YUware
3. flash latest fw_vendor in TWRP
4. full update pixel expierence (NOT incremental) rom flash
5. Partitions/Data/Format
6. Reboot and ready to use

Based on ny previous experience with another Android devices, I think your Mi 9 is far from beying bricked. All you need is to flash a stock image through fastboot.

Uhh yeah! You need to reboot to recovery to see if TWRP is still on there. Formatting means EVERYTHING gets yeeted out the back door. When you format data, always, and I mean ALWAYS reboot to recovery, and then you can flash your vendor image following your rom.
well, i flashed the android 10 version from "mi dot com/global/androidqbeta" , then i wanted to go back to the pixel experience rom and it didn't boot, it boot loped to twrp, so, I wiped all the partitions, and tried to flash the global version that came with the phone and it gives me the error "vendor error flashing" and then on another try after flashing the vender through twrp "system error flashing", then I formated all the partitions and then tried with the miflash tool version 2018-5-28, and it says device mismatch, but I am sure I have the mi 9 cepheus, 64gb 6gb ram, do i try flashing it with the European version ? i remember it came with the global version ...
[edit]
well, i solved it by making sure i had the same name on the folder that i had on the decompressed folder .. i've never encountered such an error
hope this helps someone ahah

Pocophone F1 no os after sideloading going wrong

Hey all, so it appears that I screwed my phone, I am not sure how.
I was running LineageOS, and wanted to update to Android 10 one, so I followed the steps, and I think I screwed the sideloading part, so... long story short now when rebooting from OrangeFox RecoveryProject it says no OS detected, and when it boots it says encryption unsuccessful, I tried wiping and installing DisableForceEncryption_Treble_v17.2 and restarting, and the same thing happens.
I tried to flash through recovery both, and did not work:
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/beryllium/
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/vendor/beryllium/
And when trying to flash through miFlash it doesn't work:
I go to fastboot in poco, hit refresh in miflash, it shows a device in the list, but the phone goes dark with 'something key to shutdown` written in the top left corner and if I hit the flash button nothing happens.
Can anyone assist with that please?

This happened to me when I accidentally deleted the OS when flashing the latest MIUI 11 build (using TWRP). THIS IS HOW I FIXED IT.
Find a full firmware of whatever you wanted to flash, either Lineage or MIUI 11. Then flash via your recovery (you said you have orangefox). Use an external sd card, external USB or HDD since you technically wouldn't have access to your internal data. After flashing, same process as most updates, clear cache and dalkiv. Then flash a newer DFE (if you still want to decrypt, there is a page here in xda with it. Or go to miui forums Happybuddhist, the mod there, made a new one prebuilt with Magisk). Then reboot into recovery to make sure you keep your custom recovery. Once booted to recov. Boot to system. Should fix the issue.

I tried that, now I am a step forward I think, I flashed the stock firmware I found, and installed the latest stock ROM, rebooted (doesn't say no os anymore), but the only thing I see is a DELETE ALL DATA button and at the bottom 'Encryption was interrupted and can't be completed. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible.
To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google account.'

So I had an OS-less phone that don't get recognised in MiFlash, and I had orangeFox recovery.
The steps to fix were:
- Flash a full stock Firmware
- Flash the stock ROM
- Flash DFE
- Format data to ext4
- Reboot and it works
So thanks all for your help
