Hey XDA, is USA model XQBC62 work with T-Mobile Volte and VoWifi?
PS: my old Xperia5 II wasnt able to work and returned back to Sony week later (sad)
VoLTE works but there isn't an option for Wifi calling that I see
got an answer from SONY
We received your inquiry regarding the Xperia 1 III XQBC62 and we appreciate the opportunity to help you.
In regards to your inquiry, we kindly inform you that the compatibility of VoLTE or VoWifi will depend on the operator network. Sometimes, your phone must be operator-branded and/or use operator-customized system software to be able to use VoLTE or VoWIFI. All recent Xperia phones (like Xperia 1 III or Xperia 5 III) are enabled to receive those services by default, however, if the operator devices to give that service to certain models only, it will be necessary to contact T-Mobile as they have to provide you with the list of phones that will work with those services.
This is a known "issue" with T-Mobile as well as all the other carriers. The reasoning behind this is sound for the vast majority of people. If you have a cell signal then VoLTE will work and so will using cell service to make an actual phone call. VoWIFI is for those occasions when you do not have a cell signal at all and you need to make a call over WIFI. Try calling T-Mobile and see if they will provision your phone to use VoWIFI. YMMV
As a workaround, I use T-Mobile's app "DIGITS" for calling over Wi-Fi.
I have it after build.prop edits

Have you tried to make a call over Wi-Fi? Does it actually work?
like put phone into airplne mode and calling someone from wifi only?

Well, yes, that is a sure way to make sure calls are going through Wi-Fi and not cellular. I'm am asking because prior I had another unsupported phone on T-Mobile. I did a similar hack to enable Wi-Fi Calling in settings and turned it on, but in airplane mode could not make a call over Wi-Fi.
How easy is it to edit the build file?
Hoping to find a work around for Australian Telco's as Volte is compatible but it doesn't work on the 1 iii.

I purchased my device directly from Samsung and T-Mobile unlocked it.
I switched shortly after to Verizon due to them having better coverage at my apartment. Well, its been a world of "don'ts" since getting with them and in 2-3 months I will be switching back to T-Mobile. I'd rather have spottier service but be able to have carrier billing on my one-line business account, video calling, and T-Mobile Tuesdays.
I am hoping someone can help me remedy the video calling issue. When i went into the Verizon store to switch my phone was plastered in tmobile firmware and bloatware. When I left, my phone was booting with the verizon logo and all the verizon bloatware appeared. How can i get video calling to work? I've checked my online account and there are no blocks. I've called Verizon and their explanation was it won't work due to it being non-carrier branded but they confirmed advanced calling was indeed active and enabled on my account already. I tried the shortcut lite app and get the su error, and I've tried the nova launcher activity widget to get to ims settings and it says permission denied. Any help? Please? I really miss my video calling.

So let me see if I'm understanding this right.
Your T-Mobile branded Note 8 was flashed by Verizon but you're trying to use it back on T-Mobile?
Have you tried a a factory reset?
If this doesn't work, you can try Samsung Smart Switch from your computer and do a recovery of your firmware.
Keep in mind, you'll loose all your data.

The phone automatically does that. It's called BYOD.
hello is it possible to have the 4g + on the European version of xiaomi mi a3? because I only capture the 4g
I have the same question.
For turn on the volte write this code in dialer app *#*#86583#*#*
It's just the Google One UI, you are getting 4G+ don't worry.
The Google One UI tries to simply everything by not bombarding you with + or VoLTE signs etc, however they can be enabled using service settings if you really want to take up preacious space on your notification bar.
You can confirm what signal you're getting and the speed with free apps from the Play store.
after the October and November update, the problem of lack LTE+/4G+/Carrier Aggregation is still not resolved.
anyone know if xiaomi is working on a patch?
I have EU version.
On my simcard LTE+ works with Mi 8 lite
What's 4G+/LTE+ and how to check if I have it?
Is it the enhanced LTE mode (voice calls over data)?
4G+/LTE+ is implementation of LTE-A standard, involves carrier aggregation, 4x4 MIMO, etc. It's more about data rather than voice over LTE. I have 4G+ in my area while VoLTE is disabled.

Probably Mi A3 just misses the specific carrier profile and uses a generic profile not 100% compatible with that specific carrier. I have another carrier profile issue, when I enable VoLTE I cannot send SMS. Because the generic carrier profile assumes SMS over IP/IMS when VoLTE enabled, while my carrier uses some perverted setup where SMS still sent over signalling. I doubt Xiaomi will rush adding/updating carrier profiles. If you have root you can change carrier profile with QPST PDC tool.
it is possible to change the carrier profile without root??
If you mean changing carrier profile using that Qualcomm PDC tool then nope. You need set "setprop sys.usb.config diag,serial_cdev,rmnet,adb", but it's impossible w/o root since Android 8.
I rooted and tried to enable interband carrier aggregation using this guide. Everything seemed to work fine, but I still don't get 4G+. Anybody was successful with this, maybe following a different procedure?

CA works great using B3, B7, and B28, didn't modify anything, using it as it came from the box; 3CA supported, tested using • NetMonster, just a reminder, some carriers are known to not be able to trigger device status bar icon (4G+/VoLTE) even though there's support; I recommend using the app above, if you see LTE-A, there's 4G+ connection.

Seems to work for me.
It also works for me, but only when wifi is connected. When I disable wifi, Netmonster says I'm connected to only one band, I think that's why I never see the 4G+ sign in the status bar.

I never see 4G+ just 4G.
Xiaomi Mi A3 support only Contiguous CA: https://cacombos.com/device?model=M1906F9SH - so thats why you maybe don't see 4G+ in your network because most of network do Non-Contiguous CA.
before the update to Android 10, the speed was very good with 4G +, but since only 4G appears, the speed dropped considerably
I'm from Mexico, with Telcel, Mi A3 Global
I leave images with the speeds
Has anyone with the European version for Android 10 managed to run operator aggregation?
hi i have same problem with original rom 4g+ ok but with pixel experience rom i have lost 4g+ blocked in 4g

I have an unlocked G900T. This is the T-Mobile version S5 but I use it on the AT&T network (since AT&T didn't offer an unlocked version of the S5).
I keep getting messages from AT&T saying they are shutting down their 3G network in February 2022 and my phone will no longer work.
I know my data uses the 4G (LTE) but don't know about voice.
My modem version is G900TUVU1GQC2.
Does anyone know:
-will voice work when the 3G network is turned off?
-if not, is there newer modem firmware I could flash that would support voice on 4G/5G?
Thanks!
EDIT: Looks like I've answered my own question!
After searching my settings, I was finally able to find this, which shows my voice service is on the LTE network:

Beware... Cricket (the AT&T MVNO) customers are facing some whitelisting/blacklisting based on IMEIs, and the G900T didn't pass their test. My wife switched her G900T for another G900T earlier this month, and her account was immediately suspended upon starting the new phone with her SIM in it. Had to call customer service to get the account re-activated. Her status screen says the same as your screenshot about LTE, but Cricket is killing accounts when the SIM is placed in a phone they don't think supports VoLTE. Absolutely rotten approach to network phase-out, for multiple reasons... I don't know if AT&T will eventually do similar or if this is Cricket's unique idiocy. I advise caution if you replace your G900T with another though.
With LineageOS, I see the following when I am in a call:
Mobile voice network type:
UMTS
Mobile data network type:
HSPA+
When I am not in a call, I see the same thing as you posted.
You should check what it states for your SIM Status while you are in a call.
I had one Samsung S21 dual sim operating with one SIM card post paid at AT&T in US and the second SIM card pre paid at Vivo Brazil. This configuration allows me to receive text messages from Brazil without pay roaming when using Vivo in US. One feature that amazed me was the fact that using the Vivo wifi call, it works like be in the network in Brazil; plus country code and even area code was not required. To check the voice mail, I can use number like *555 and forward calls using GSM commands to the Vivo network.
I recently changed my phone to Google Pixel 6 where the AT&T became eSIM and operates in the IMEI2/EID and Vivo in the IMEI1. All great features I described above are gone. I can see icons showing the call as wi-fi but doesn't work anymore.
Any comment about is welcome.

I'm Brazilian. I have postpaid of course and when I had s21 ultra, 5G, VoLTE and VoWIFI worked perfectly. Now with pixel 6 pro none of this works. Only with root access through magisk, it was possible to activate VoLTE and 5G. VoWIFI did not work.

At least there is a way to do. You gave me valuable information. I don't like the idea to root the phone and of course in the case of Samsung you will disrupt KNOX. Are there any other option to force the Network type without root the P6? What about *#*#4636#*#* ?

Not. Activation keys for VoLTE and VoWIFI are grayed out. It was only after installing the VoLTE module that these switches became active.
Instalação do módulo VoLTE. Não entendo o o que vc está falando. Sim, os botões estão bloqueados mas não sei como habilitar.

The problem with muted / lost / dropped calls still exists while speaking on the phone. It has been reported mainly from users who live in unsupported countries and use unsupported carriers without root and magisk. In Greece we have found a tiny trick to get over (not always) this problem by switching one of the two SIM to locked 2G, through the hidden menu *#*#4636#*#*. So, the SIMs setup plays big role and now I'm not facing problems anymore. I have pixel 6 with stock Android 13 (no root) and October's 2022 security patch and my setup is:
eSIM --> Vodafone (international carrier) with LTE & "allow 2G" in settings
SIM --> Cosmote (local carrier) only 2G & "allow 2G" in settings
There are many users that still complained about but there isn't a clear, robust fix for this. We believe that another reason is that pixels don't use 4G for making phonecalls (in unsupported countries/ carriers) but only 3G/2G, so many carriers due to 5G emergence abolished the 3G antennas and the calls go only to 2G. In Greece, most of the users have problem with Cosmote that has totally abolished 3G antennas, while Vodafone still uses them. Hence, the combination of the signal from LTE (4G) which falls to 2G, to make a call, and the bad collaboration of SIM + eSIM remain the problem.
Most of the users were forced to make root & put magisk to unlock the 5G, VoLTE and VoWiFi and that helped to make calls through 4G. This module works ONLY in Vodafone Greece because maybe it' s an international carrier. We also wait for an updated magisk module for Cosmote carrier to unlock the VoLTE/VoWiFi in spite of the 5G works.
Hello, I'm suffering from this issue too in unsupported country Slovakia with both SIM physical and eSIM from Telekom.
Btw hidden menu triggers with *#*#4636#*#*
I will try this method with 2G only and will give you feedback, thank you for suggestion, it may help many lives
Edit: it didnt help, also tried with 3G only
Guess we will wait for another fix update or its hardware problem

I'm surprised that it didn't help! Try to swap the SIMs if the carrier is different.
Carrier is the same, one physical SIM is used for calls/sms and second eSIM one for data.
Does anyone managed to fix this issue? Its really annoying, sometimes I cant even accept the calls, but everytime I check signal during drop call/fail there is some signal.
Already tried to join beta of Carrier services app but didnt help.
Thanks for any suggestions

I have the exact same combination as the OP. I use cosmote for data and Vodafone for everything else. I think that vowifi and volte work with the magisk patch. I use this one https://github.com/swangjang/Pixel-Redbull-Carrier-Patch
Which I believe has the corresponding cosmote mbn.

I guess you're right. Cosmote doesn't support volte or vowifi.I was under the impression that both Sims supported it. I rarely use that SIM card for calls anyway. I'll try to enable it from cosmote side and report back.
I think I found the way to fix my drop calls/failed/no signal issues, hope it helps someone
Just disable 2G on eSIM (for data) and enable only 3G/2G + disable VoLTE for SIM (calls)
Problem seems to be soft bug fighting dual SIM with each other signals...
