I have a oneplus from metro by T-Mobile and in developer options the OEM unlock option is there but I can't click on it is a really light color gray does this mean I can't unlock the bootloader? Please help I'm a noob
Apparently, your device is locked by carrier. I doubt that you will be able to unlock it. Anyways, according to your words I wouldn't advise to touch developer settings at all.

A friend of mine got this phone recently, it's the "Special Edition" H840, but it's European.
I was checking the Developer Options and noticed that i was able to enable OEM Unlock.
My questions are:
Should I try to unlock the bootloader via fastboot?
Should I try another fastboot command first (or after) to see if they've been blocked like on the H830?
Would me confirming any of this help you guys out in any way?
Thanks in advance, I'd love to see development get started on the H840 if it's possible to unlock its bootloader.

The OEM unlock option is there on all G5's, it was even there on my ATT V10 that has yet to be unlocked. I suppose you could try to run the fastboot commands, but I doubt you'll actually get anywhere with it.
As Eric said, they're present in every G5 version. Don't waste your time, you can't unlock it without the IMEI associated .bin file.
Good evening all.
I have an SGP771 which I have owned for over a year now. I have been reading up about rooting and flashing this device. At the moment I am in a quandary as to whether I can unlock the bootloader or not. When I enter. *#*#7378423#*#* into the dialer and look at the Configuration menu from the service menu the Rooting status reads as Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No. When I enter the Developer Options there is a toggle for OEM Unlocking - Allow the bootloader to be unlocked, which I have switched to on. Developer options are also switched on.
Can anyone tell me if there is any way to root and flash this device?
Many thanks.
Hello @weazil60
Did you make it unlocking your bootloader ? I ve got the same issue with my z4 tablet.
Maybe I am going to apply this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/z4-tablet/general/guide-safe-bootloader-unlock-restore-t3362391 to see if I can unlock my bootloader that way (they did nt say there are cases it should not work) ...
I am interested in installing LineageOS but not sure if LineageOS plays well with the physical bkb50 bluetooth keyboard ...
Good evening Pierro78.
Unfortunately I received no replies and decided just to stick with using Firefox Focus to avoid ads (this was my main issue).
If you are successful with your modification please let me know.
Best of luck - weazil60.
i have a t-mobile samsung tablet SM-T357T, and i need help unlocking the bootloader to root. i look in developer options, and there is no option to unlock the OEM. any help?
hi It says im unlocked in the unlock app. and I also have the token.bin from oneplus. I can't do anything in adb to unlock becuase i can't seem to unlock the bootloader it's greyed out in the developers options. How do you get the grey out?
i dont follow. you already got the token but cant enable OEM unlock? in order to get the token you need to have had OEM unlock enabled. to enable OEM unlock follow the debloat thread script. it will enable OEM unlock.

I have the token from my last logic board that broke. Since I had to install a new logic board from e bay my IMEI has also changed since that is what it's attached to.
Also I tried contacting the carrier and they said I need the original owners information in order to continue. I stated it's my phone from your company but i just replaced the part. Of course they told me the same thing. That I need the original owners information... Since the IMEI is no longer the same. The IMEI really is just a fingerprint for carriers to track. Doesn't really hold much more significance.
I'm planning to import a brand new Japan version of Pixel 6 from a shop. I was told that the phone is not locked to any specific carrier and can be used on any network. Since the phone is not carrier locked, is that mean the bootloader can also be unlocked? Is there any relation between locked carrier and locked bootloader? I wanna buy a phone which can have unlocked bootloader ... The shop people said they won't be able to check OEM Unlocking status.
Depending on the country you can be carrier locked without being bootloader locked. For example, in the US, T-Mobile I believe carrier locks the device but does not lock the bootloader. AT&T and Verizon however lock both and will not remove the bootloader lock.
I'm not aware of the Japanese P6 having a bootloader lock, but I am not an authority on it.
Reading the topic how to convert the Japanese version to Global, which requires Root, there is a very high probability that the bootloader can be unlocked.
Carrier unlocked has no relation to unlocked bootloader.
Cheers
Tom
I have a pixel 6 japanese version GB7N6, and i already unlocked bootloader, root and change region.

I am pretty sure unlocking bootloader on T-Mobile variants requires a SIM unlock first, this has been the case for my former OnePlus 9 Pro and I've heard the same for this phone.
Otherwise, the OEM unlock toggle is grayed out.

Thanks. I wasn't sure, and I think my post made that apparent, as I don't buy my devices from carriers.
