oneplus x - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently got a oneplus x from a friend of mine.
He briefly mentioned he flashed a rom and then flashed back the original rom, bootloader should be unlocked, however I cannot access recovery mode. I can acess fastboot mode but my pc's (Ubuntu 21.10) fastboot command cannot detect the device.
In mobile settings I can use adb over tcp but cannot use debugging via usb.
Has anybody experienced smth like this?
What should I do?

@rcastellotti Did you already check the device forum?

Thanks for the Kingo suggestion.
Unfortunately I'm not having luck with it. After hours waited to download drivers* (their server is slow) it keeps blocked and stuck on "fetching scripts". Since it seems a common problem I tried it severl times, last time I even left it for almost an hour. With no results.
I've got Windows 8, and I used DSEO to disable driver signature checking. (someone says that won't work on Windows 8)
Any help will be truly appreciated.
Bye
*For next users, if you won't loose time as I did, download HTC drivers from KINGO website (they are the driver needed by Kingo for our GT72).
I solved in 5 SECONDS with 'Framaroot', directly on the phone, without any f****g complication with FRAMAROOT. Imho, best ever.:good:
Hello
Have anyone noticed that the screen is hard to read from different angles?!
For ex:
In the car holder, i can't see from about 45degrees... Not related with weather.
When i am looking from different degrees, even at home i only can see "true colors" if i look "in front"
Anyone else?
Solutions?

That's the reason you should only flash ROMs for your specific phone model and not from other models. This one is specific for the Cubot GT72 (I have a Cubot GT72+ and I'm not flashing this one).
Ask the people who sold you the phone to see if they can contact the manufacturer for the correct ROM for yours.

Xiaomi Mi Max 6.44 inch phablet - a worthy X Ultra replacement?!

http://www.techtimes.com/articles/1...ts-specs-price-options-and-configurations.htm
Just saw this article about a new 6.44 display phone from Xiaomi......could be the Z Ultra replacement we've been waiting for?!? I like the 6.44 screen size, which has been perfect for me.
if it has onscreen buttons i would be very interested
but for now - Z Ultra
I think it is the first viable replacement for the Ultra. It provide 128 GB of storage + microSDXC, which is an excellent upgrade from the Ultra 16 GB. The AnTuTu scores for similar devices indicate a decent upgrade as well: around 80,000 which is a step forward but it is possible the 652 version will be even better.
The main question is 240 DPI operation and ROM development. Items such as softbuttons doesn't worry me since it is possible to enable them with the right ROM/tweaks. LTE bands are another question but I would assume a similar setup as the C6833 more or less.
I think the Max is the first device since the Ultra that can be considered a step forward in most aspects.
There is another contender in the works, though: ZTE Nubia X8, which promises up to 4K and a Snapdragon 823. It is worth to wait for it before making any final decision. As the situation is now with Sony probably out of the game (a Z3 TC successor would have been very interesting but nothing in that regard seems to exist and they failed to replace the Z4 Tablet), it seems like the only companies providing devices of the right category are Huawei (MediaPad/Max series), Xiaomi (Max) and ZTE (Nubia).
It seems to be a choice between a Huawei MediaPad X3/M3/P9 Max (i.e. new devices replacing the 2 series), Xiaomi Max or ZTE Nubia X8. Other brands seems to be stuck at 6 inches or smaller.

The only problem with the Mi Max is there are no LTE bands for the US. I was considering one as well. I replaced my ZU with a Mediapad X2 last year and it's still a great phone even without LTE here.

I totally second this! There's something about the 6.4 inch screen that is perfect for everyday use and for watching videos. I can't imagine myself downsizing to a 6 inch phone.....my eyes literally get strained from watching videos on a 6 inch screen
The new Zen phone 3 ultra looks interesting too.

Stuck on EUI after Recovery (Clear Data). Black screen with yellow light while charge

Please someone help me.
My phone is new and it went to EUI all of a sudden, so I cleared data. It would work fine (with recovery mode/clear data/restart) and after two months same thing.... I would just be clearing data and starting from scratch. But today, i could NOT get it the "Language page". After "optimizing apps or starting apps", it just goes back to EUI.... its broken I think... it even became black screen while charging with a yellow light.
I do not know what flash or root means and I do not want to do anything that can beak the phone. I dont even know what software it needs to update. I hope someone can help me step by step.
It is now recognized in "My Computer" as an external device. But when I clock on it it is empty.... since its supposed ot have cleared data....I cant get to the setup page.
Thank you so much for any help.

Development for the Oppo K1 (PBCM30) - Question/Request

Dear reader,
After many year or lurking XDA and flashing countless phones I have finally create an account! I quickly wanted to thank everybody here in the community to allow me to get most out of my hardware despite phone manufacturers bloating my phones to pieces. (btw I hope I am posting this in the correct place - please correct me if I am not)
I have recently purchased the Oppo K1 (version: PBCM30) on my trip to China. I am very happy with the hardware. Dual sim, MicroSD slot, in-display fingerprint sensor, 4 gigs of ram and runs on a Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 with a 6.4inc display. All for a bit over $190! My previous phone was a OnePlus 3.
The phone runs Oppo's ColorOS which is fairly ok. However, the pre-installed garbage has brought tears to my eyes. Out of my 4GB, over 2GB is consumed in idle state. Not to mention the battery life (although it has a 3600mAh battery).
Now my question;
Does anyone know if there is already development going on for custom ROMs for the Oppo K1. Is there perhaps a different ROM that is compatible with the Oppo K1. I tried searching the web but could not find anything.
Many thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
Banaan001
I have this phone for around a month now,
love every bit of it, really cool phone.
but the annoying thing is there is literally nth about it anywhere on any site,
neither this nor the Rx17 neo or R15x
I thought since they're the exact same models there should be a global ROM for the k1 as well,
but didn't find anything.
the closest I got was an Indonesian site giving a tutorial on how to root it, but honestly couldn't convince myself to trust it
I bought Oppo K1 aswell and the phone is pretty cool. But there are no ROMs at the moment in the development.
Is there any method to root the phone?

Not that i'm aware of. It should be possible to root the phone and remove the unwanted software, but I don't know which root program would be suited.
Good afternoon group I have the same team the rooting process is the following
First Connect internet on your pc
Download The Kingo Root Computer Or Pc Version Software.
After Download the Kingoroot Software Then Install the software on your computer Or Pc.
Now Download your Mobile model USB Driver And Also Install It on your Computer Or Pc.
After Complete the Installing all software on your Computer Or Pc.
First Your mobile Power On.
Then Need Mobile Battery Charge 80%.
Need Also Your Computer Internet Data Connection turn On.
Now Connect USB Cable From Your Pc To Mobile. Take a few minutes to detect USB recognize your mobile.
Click Root When rooting time Do Not Unplug the USB Cable before completed Root.
You're welcome, my friend.

Hi friend,
Thanks for the suggestion. I researched KingoRoot a little and it seems that a lot of unwanted software will be installed together with Rooting. Please consider these apps will gain full system access without the need of permissions so I am not taking the risk.
OxygenOS 9.0 for Oppo K1?
It would be neat if Oppo K1 could install a Oxygen 9.0 Gsi Rom. ColorOS is terrible. Hopefully there will be a gsi rom for it with in display fingerprint.
We need a TWRP build for it to start, there are existing builds for similar models but I'm wary of attempting to flash them on this device. Has anyone heard if the kernel source code for it has been released yet?

Any updates on this? I have the rx17 neo Europe version, which I think is the same as the k1. ColorOs is really a nightmare. Can we ask to some developer to help us with this? I think there is a little community around this phone, and is quite good, good specs and everything but the Os is garbage.

Question it is a good idea to get a new 6a /used Pixel 6 now?

So I wanna get a new phone but my budget it too tight. I can get a used pixel 6. is it a good idea to buy one used? I'm currently using Pocofone f1. My main use is camera and battery life and some gaming too specially Emulation or shoulkd I go for a Brand new Pixel 6a?
1. does Pixel 6 has heating issue?
2. is it easy to Root and buypass safety net?
I would say it's worth it, as long as you're sure that you're getting one that's in good condition and allows unlocking the bootloader, i.e. not a Verizon model or other that has the bootloader permanently locked. It's still a really good phone.
1. I've had no problems with heat. I have mine in a silicone case and can run demanding games and apps without it overheating, though it does get pretty warm to the touch.
2. As long as you have a version that allows unlocking the bootloader, rooting is pretty easy by following this guide (though you'll need this version of the safetynet fix), and bypassing SafetyNet/Play Integrity API while rooted works as well as on any other phone - it can't pass hardware attestation, but it can force basic and that's enough for most apps.
Do note that there is no TWRP for the Pixel 6 yet, but PixelFlasher makes updating and Magisk patching very easy.

Couldn't agree more! I just want to add that, although having a display refresh rate of mere 60hz, P6a will be supported by Google for an extended period (9 months) when compared to P6.
Recently got my wife and I renewed Pixel 6's from amazon. cheaper than the 6a and a more powerful phone from what I understand. I would def recommend it.

No. Can't unlock the bootloader on Verizon models.
Depending on the model of pixel 6, theres a 6gb ram model and 8gb ram model with a better camera slightly larger screen. «edit The pixel 6a is 6gb ram with a downgraded camera, personally I'd go with the cheapest option and if the pixel 6 with 8gb ram is that option then go for it

To clarify, the Pixel 6 Pro has the 8gb of RAM, the larger screen, and an optical telephoto lens to go with the standard and wide angle cameras. It is not a "model" of Pixel 6. The different flavors of Pixel 6 (NOT Pro) only vary in whether they include mmWave 5G or not. And if you have a Verizon model, forget about rooting. The bootloader is locked.

Damn my bad, when I bought my 6a I'd looked at comparison site showing the six with two separate models of the standard 6
