So my phone started not turning on or showing any signs of life today, it was at 90% so it's not a low battery problem, I can't check if it draws any power from the charger because I don't have a device to, what could I do? I only need it to boot to fastboot
Well I sent it for repair the next day and yesterday I was told that the phone cannot be fixed, at least I got my refund even after almost 2 years of usage
Looks like EMMC storage death. There's nothing you can do

So about 2 weeks ago I was booting into the bootloader and BAM black screen of death. The phone would not turn on, it would say it's charging with the red light but nothing I tried worked. I let it charge for hours and nothing. I had a bad feeling because I was literally just booting into my cwm recovery when it turned off and all went to sh**.
Luckily there was a cheap solution. I knew the phone was somewhat alive because I could see it in adb recovery. (./adb devices)
2-3 days went by no luck charging etc.
I decided to stick a the battery inside 2 zip lock bags and freeze it (old trick)
After 12 hours in the chill box I popped it in and the last bit of juice left booted my phone to the last animation.
I took another battery that fit somewhat from another phone and luckily it booted.
Ordered a battery on ebay and now the phone works perfect.
Don't freak it could just be a battery.
I don't think my battery was dead when in recovery but I have read that a low battery or dead to dying battery in cwm can cause this sort of thing to happen.
Anyways back to flashing
Hope this helps someone in need.
Cheers
I was going to post this later, but thanks for the post. My phone has done this twice and my Evo 4g did this. If you're 20% or lower on battery and try to reset, or power on, it freaks out and doesn't want to turn on. My first purchase after I buy a smartphone is always a backup battery. Ebay always have cheap ones. I just pop off the old battery, put it on the dock charger, and then pop in the fully charged backup battery. My friend has replaced his evo 3D twice already "thinking" he had the black screen of death. These phones just have issues with low batteries. If my phone dies and I put it on the charger, sometimes it won't turn on until it's above 20% again

Hi everyone! I've a problem that's bothering me since i've bought this phone. Let's start from the first day when my beautiful gs2 arrived and there's no way it would turn on, i tried charge the battery but it didn't work too, it displayed the grey battery logo and then reboot in a loop. Then magically after some hours it started working. After a few months the phone started rebooting or powering off by itself and after a few more weeks it wouldn't turn on or charge like the first day and like that it returned to life after few days. I took it to a samsung point and they changed the usb connector.
It all worked fine for a few months and then here we were again and the phone died and turn to life after few days and also this time they changed the usb connector.
Now it's begun rebooting again and i think it won't turn on few weeks from now.
I've noticed that when the phone reboot there's a vertical drop in the battery charge, almost to zero, only to recharges by itself instantaneously after rebooting. Few days ago the phone didn't reboot but the battery charge went instantaneously from 60% to 10% and then started slowly charging by itself till almost 25%.
What do you think about it? I'm starting to think the problem is the battery chip that control the charge, is it possible? It's integrated in the battery right? so if i change it the gs2 would be ok?
i would personally try another battery.
if that doesnt work, it might be the u503 chip on the phone.
i recently had an issue with that chip after slight water damage (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462207) and noticed the same issue with the battery level, and it not turning on sometimes. tried with 3 different batteries and had the same problem.
got rid of the u503 chip, and its working fine now.
The problem is i don't have another battery. I tried the battery of a friend and it came back to life but there's no way to tell if it did the trick because it's random. The other times one second it was dead and the next one it was working again even without changing anything.
In my case when the phone reboot it doesn't get hotter so i think it's different from yours. More over is still under warranty so it's better not to touch it yet
Some how after over night USB charged, in the morning I cannot turn it on.
Seaching through the web found it is one of the common problems.
However, after try all many many times and also continue charge more nothing happens.
It seems it is not charged, no led on and the magnetic indicator shows not charging.
(Un)fortunately , it is long holiday then I have to wait for the service center.
After left it alone for 2 days, now I can turn it on but the power is out.
Then over night charge again and now I will upgrade to Lollipop.
FYI:
If you experience same as mine and no warranty may be wait.
But, if in warranty you may or maynot.
Had the same problem some weeks ago, same steps and it was working again.
BUT: now it's dead again and it doesn't come back to life since over a week!
Maybe it's better to repair it if you get this error before unlocking bootloader...

Thanks, but as it is working I dont think I can claim.
And warranty will expire soon early next month.
Has anybody experience with warranty in this case with unlocked bootloader?
Tried to get it repaired here in Germany: came back unrepaired because of non original software.
Well, when it does not poweron nobody can check the software. So it looks like they simply compare the serial with an unlock database and deny repair without looking for the error at all.
That's nice for an device with this known fault also with original software and locked bootloader...
That's really too bad. I have the same issue with mine. I created an RMA in march and it expired now I'm out of warranty ( by two weeks) and Sony wont help.
For what its worth, when my tablet has the power on issue, if I plug it in to charge with my blackberry playbook charger, it will charge enough to power on. The OEM charger won't work the same way. Once my device is on, the OEM charger works fine.
You may want to try this method. I think it may has to
do with the amperage that the BlackBerry charger drives that semi solves the problem.
Here's a link to the charger

3 rd time
My tablet went deep sleep again, and it is 3rd time.
Last 2 times, I left it drain out battery until it active again and show low battery.
This symtom, we cannot do anything not even flash it.
But this time after left for 40 hours, the battery still not emtpty then I try:
Reset it more than 2 minutes, nothing happen.
Power + Up, nothing happen.
Then I try Reset and push power, suddenly it vibrates.
Tada...Sony logo shown and working again.
The battery is 13% left.
As it cannot be re-produced, so if anyone experience try Reset + power.
Please let me if it help or not.

Hello guys, so, a friend of mine gave me his old RAZR xt910 after some begging, he was going to throw it away. This phone came to me with a dead battery and a shattered screen. First, the phone wasn't turning on, but would turn on and stuck on bootlogo only - with the charger (ac). I managed to hard reset it and load Android throu BP TOOLS (vol up down + charger), after taking the battery away, Running on charger only, - this was a new "gold" 3030mah aftermarket battery that was put in there by my friend one year ago. I was pretty impressed since it turned on without battery, like, wtf!. I tried to install CyanogenMod but could get to safestrap since it was asking for a battery ((?) image when on charger). Recently he brought me the old original battery - the one he tried to swap for the new one. It was all good, I put it back in and booted with 99%, but it depleted quickly. The phone refuses to charge it, wherever it is on or off, ((? Image when it's off, again)… it says OVERHEATING when it's on and then enters a cool down phase in which I can only do emergency calls, nothing else. On cpu-z it shows battery as Overheat at 80c (doesn't show variation). It also shows Overheat when without battery so I'm guessing this is preventing charge, but the energy flows well through the phone. Cyanogens turn the phone immediately off after optimizing apps on first boot (I guess it's because the wrong temperature data). I'm afraid... should i spend 15 dollars to try the luck on a new battery?, is the temperature sensor installed on the battery or the phone? Anyone booting from CHARGER ONLY, NO BATTERY INSTALLED getting "Overheat" status on cpu-z temperature readings? I would like to fix this phone to keep it... I like collecting phones.
After the battery depleted I managed to recharge it alone on a.universal charger, manually. I can't say its a comfortable way to charge it, but still the only way. Unfortunately I threw the "new battery" away so I can't say if it would say "Overheat " too to determine if it's a phones problem. Big fault
A couple of days ago I replaced the battery on my Poco F1, because the phone is 2.5 years old and AccuBattery reckoned it was at 71% health. There were no issues with the phone, only that the battery life wasn’t as good as it once was (it was still running from 100% - 0% battery charge).
I bought the battery from AliExpress (this one to be precise) and the process of switching it out was easy and faultless, as far as I could tell.
The reassembled phone booted up fine and the new battery was at ~ 50% capacity. On the AliExpress listing it said to run the battery flat, which is what I did and it lasted quite a few hours - all good.
I then recharged the phone to full, as stated in the instructions. Regretfully, I interrupted the first recharge a couple of times by unplugging the phone for a few minutes each time. I'm telling you this for full disclosure - I'm unsure if this is likely to have caused the problem that I am now facing.
The fully recharged phone lasted a few hours and then shut itself down, whilst on ~ 70% battery I believe. This was the first time I realised there was a problem. The phone would not turn back on - holding down the power button and/or any combination of volume buttons did absolutely nothing. However, plugging the phone in caused the battery charging screen to appear instantly and subsequently, holding the power button whilst still plugged in would turn the phone on as normal. The phone would then boot up and battery percentage would be at ~70%, as it was when it shutdown (once booted, volume keys work fine). The phone would appear to charge as normal, but whenever I unplugged the phone, it would eventually shutdown on a high percentage after anything from a few seconds up to around an hour.
I thought I must have gotten a dodgy battery, so I took it out and put the original one back in. Now the old battery has all of the same symptoms as the new one – it won’t turn on unless plugged in and randomly shuts down after a period of time. If I manually turn the phone off when unplugged, it won’t turn back on unless it is plugged in. Also, a reboot just shuts it down.
I happened to have a spare charging port board, so I put that in to see if I’d fried something on there, but that hasn’t helped.
I’m tempted to reset the phone to stock (currently running Pixel Experience with TWRP installed) but am worried that it will brick the phone if it tries to reboot during the flashing process. Also, I believe that the fact I can’t force boot into fastboot with volume down/power buttons proves it is a hardware issue?
Any ideas are very welcome.
I think unless you have access to an EDL authorised account it's better to not flash MIUI at this stage. Risk of bricking the device...

Exactly the problem I am going through. It's all started today. I am currently running stock MIUI. It keeps boot looping if I do not plug the charger. But once it's plugged, it will load up normal.

I did flash stock MIUI in the end. Did not brick it, but also did not fix it. The phone now turns off immediately after being unplugged every time. I got myself a black Friday Poco X3 Pro so I'm now selling this phone for parts in UK

It could be a buggy PMIC issue similar to https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...android-11-0-vayu-bhima.4267263/post-85119331
Third-party batteries are mostly crap and probably the original battery is completely drained and the BMS isn't allowing it to be charged as a safety measure?
