Camera2api Support - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

Hi All,
I've been eyeing this device for a while. Always been a big fan of LG but a little disappointed they exited the market (and afaik left V60 support out to hang). One question I had on my mind was how well supported the cameras were for 3rd party camera APKs, is it possible for a owner to share a report from this app?
Camera2 API Probe - Apps on Google Play
Probe Android Camera2 API capabilities on your phones.
play.google.com
All the way at the bottom of the first screen of the app is the share button, it generates a simple link URL reporting what cameras it can see. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks! Good to see Level 3 support on all the cameras like the old models. 4624 x 3468 must be the native resolution of the main sensor (16MP after quad bayer), so I guess they upscale for the "8K video feature" like a lot of other phones with quad bayer sensors.

Moto Z Camera2 API support level

I'm currently thinking about getting a 2nd backup phone in addition to my LG V10. One of the things important to me is the Camera2 API support level of the device as I'm keen on using pro video recording apps that utilise this API for more advanced controls (manual exposure etc). I've already made some inquiries about the Sony Xperia X in the corresponding forum here but one of the alternatives I'm considering is the Lenovo Moto Z. There are two free apps on the PlayStore that can test the Camera2 API implementation of an Android device: "Camera2 probe" and "Camera2 Probe" (sorry can't link as I'm still a newbie). Would anyone with a Moto Z be so nice to quickly run one of the two probing apps and tell me about the 'Hardware Level Support Category' of this phone? (categories are: 'Legacy', 'Limited', 'Full' and 'Level 3').
Thanks in advance!

From what I learned in another thread the Z Play does not have full Camera2 API support. Therefore it will either be "Limited" or "Legacy". Depending on the device though "Limited" might be enough if you are only after longer shutter speeds for photos but I can't say for sure. You might wanna find my thread in the Z Play forum (title is something like "Does FilmicPro run on the Z Play") and ask someone there to run a Camera2 probe app.

1080p 60fps on third party apps

Hello
I have no issue recording at 1080p 60fps with the honor default camera app, but when I switch to Filmic Pro or Open Camera, I cannot record over 30 fps. Do you know why there is a limitation ?
On filmic pro, I can't even enable stabilization at 1080p25 or 30 fps. It is available on the default app.

Have you tried speaking to the vendors of said apps?
Whilst the default might have no limitations, it's possible the other apps do have.
Just because a camera can do things, doesn't necessarily mean that an app will support all of those things, if you catch my drift.
Hello
Yes I catch your drift. It is such a pity that theses apps do not support these settings on Android phone, but support fully all the Iphones.

You can always get in touch with the software developers and ask them if they plan to support these features for Android.
Some developers are quite good (as you know from being on XDA!) at giving feedback and answering questions like that.

Help choosing a gcam

Hey there guys, i have 9.0 pixel experience ROM on my RN4. Camera2api enabled.
I don't know which version of gcam i am currently using but it gives a lot of force close errors and a green tint on front cam too.
I tried a lot of apps to know whether I've a Samsung or Sony sensor in it, but to no avail.
Would you please be so kind as to point me to the best gcam version suitable for my device right now?
Thank you so much kind stranger.

NO FC's, no green tint, portrait works, HDR works for both front and back and you can choose bitrate for video recording, using it for months and never looked back.
To avoid issues first fully remove old gcams you have installed.
Also i recommend flashing this magisk modules: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1RkHruqNGIKnkgfhX0B7BaeEGYc-airBc
It will let you record in [email protected], fixes distorted sound in video recordings and enables 30fps in viewfinder. (it works for Samsung / Sony, not sure about Omnivision)
To check which sensor you have just run some logcat reader, open gcam and shoot few pics, look for sensor info in log.
What is gcam? Can anyone explain.

Gcam stands for Google Camera. That's camera app from Google and it is originally found on Google (Pixel, etc.) devices. However, when using it on other phones, it can significantly improve photo quality in comparison to what stock camera and other available alternatives on the market can achieve. That's because Google Camera relies heavily on "clever" software and superior photo processing algorithms capable of generating and preserving more data. So even hardware-wise "bad cameras" can benefit from using it. Of course there are some downsides as well, since the app is not designed to be run on other - non Google - devices you need modified version of it in order to use it. That said there are many different modifications of said application with variuos degrees of functionality, bugs and stability. You can check most of them collected here.

[SEARCH] Camera app using wide and normal

Hi everyone,
I (ecological reason) bought a Fairphone 4.
It's really not what I expect from a phone so I am looking to update some apps.
The main issue I get is this one on Camera.
Fairphone 4 doesn't allow to record video from the wide angle camera... Yeah... WTF !!!
It seems to be described on the sepcs, but why ??? How a camera can be reduced to not recording video ?
My old LG G6 does it with wide camera.
Whatever, I tried to use other apps as Open Camera, HD Camera and others but I doesn't find a way to switch, even for picture mode, from the main camera to the wide one.
Do you have any idea of which app I may use ?
Thank you
buy that phone yesterday, have the same problem! By any chance, do you find some solution? Also i want to change from defalutOS to calyxos, but again - big issue inside camera.

Question Is there any g cam for redmi note 11 s ?

This device have amazing camera it must have g cam
Is there any g cam for this specific divice?
If not how much time it will take to launch?
I have searched alot but cannot find for this device
Also guide me where it will be available
The most recent stable release of MGC by BSG somewhat works (MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV2b). I'm using the com.android.mgc package, but com.google.android.GoogleCameraEng also seems to work (the two com.codeaura.* packages crash and I haven't bothered trying the com.samsung.* packages).
The issues I'm facing at the moment are:
- buffer lag
- modules 0.6 and 0.8 crash the app (and 1.7 is fixed focus so pretty useless)
- slow-mo video doesn't work
I haven't found a working Magisk module to fix the buffer lag yet, or any MGC configs for this device, so have blacklisted the non-functional modules for the time being.
I don't like the MIUI gallery, so uninstalled it with Debloater and replaced it with Google's "Gallery Go", which interfaces well. If you don't have a Google gallery app then the gallery icon will probably crash the app.
The performance is definitely better, particularly when it comes to the horrendous oversharpening of the default camera app (worst in low light). The colours are perhaps a little warm for my liking though.

Which stable gcam is good for that phone?
I've not found a good stable gcam for this phone yet - it has a Mediatek processor which not many gcam modders support. If you find one let us know!
Mediatek == no gcam
Found this mod of Gcam Quite good. Give it a try. I haven't faced a crash while taking photo and videos.
