I tried to install custom rom on Lenovo Tab A3300-H (Android 4.4.2):
1. Rooted device
2. Installed TWRP by flashify
3. Created full system and data backup
4. Formatted system, cache and data
5. Started rom installing
Installation is stuck at: Flashing file 1 of 1
I have backup on sd card. Can I restart device and restore backup?
EDIT: The device has stopped flashing the ROM and stuck to the TWRP logo, not responding to different combinations of VOL +/- and POWER
If backups were made by TWRP and TWRP still is working you should be able to restore the backups by TWRP.
Thank you. I will try to restore the backup after the battery drains
Data restored, device works.

hi all, my friend got mediapad and he wanted custom rom so I flashed twrp recovery and his tablet became bricked, it shows huawei logo, then white screen and then after few seconds it shuts down, I tried to restore my backup to his tablet (CM10.1) via twrp and then it booted without problems but when I do wipe data/actory reset, the white screen and bootloop appears again, where is the problem? in twrp recovery? should I choose cwm for his device? twrp shows error "E: unknown filesystem datamedia" (also on my device but mine works without problems)
thanks for any help

Did you say you did a restore then you wiped data/factory reset?
Try opening twrp wipe data, wipe the system perform factory reset, then installed fresh version of cm10.1
but this happen also with stock recovery and stock rom install (dload folder), it starts installation (green android with gearbox) and after 2 seconds it restarts (and keep looping) it looks like corrupted partitions and it started after twrp flash
maybe you need to enter to fastboot mode and then push stock's ROM one-by-one like ICS beta back to honeycomb
what partitions must I flash ? are their names same as img files in rom's zip?
I own the Nexus 9 (Wi-fi model) and am running Android 6.0 MRA58N, rooted with the TWRP recovery. I wanted to to update to android 6.0.1 so downloaded the latest factory image (MMB29R) from Google's website. I rebooted to TWRP so I could flash the new image. When I realized that you cannot flash system.img through TWRP I had already flashed the boot.img. I attempted to reboot only to get stuck in a bootloop. "Luckily me" I had taken a backup through TWRP previously (boot, data and system). So I went again in TWRP, factory reset and restored (successfully as per the message) the backup. Now every time I boot I see Google's logo, then the "Your device is corrupt" message, that I'm seeing since I installed TWRP (it doesn't seem to affect anything) and then a blank screen that goes on forever.
I had this backup moved to my hard drive and the moved it back to my device. Tried the "fix permissions" option in TWRP as well. No go.
Any suggestions?
I managed to fix it by installing the system, cache, boot and vendor partitions from the new build and the data partition from my nandroid backup.
same happen to me yesterday..what i did is,reboot into fastboot.and then flash vendor, system, boot, cache and also recovery..i have twrp install, but it show 0mb on internal storage.flash stock recovery fix that problem..and after that i flash twrp, supersu and elementalx again..it fix my problem

hey guys just looking for some help. ive been modding and flashing phones from 2014, but its always gone really smoothly, so my diagnostic ability is lacking.
it started with flashing twrp. my bootloader is unlocked, usb debugging on, device is showing in adb and fastboot, and i can flash twrp without any issues. hoowever when i go to boot twrp, only the stock recovery boots. i tried to flash twrp using the XiaoMiTool v2, but the same thing happened. i eventually got around this by just booting twrp instead of trying to flash it. so i got in, took a full back-up and started installing a custom rom.
the first one i tried was ParanoidAndroid Quartz. i wiped cache, dalvik and storage then transferred it to my phone, tried to flash and got "zip verification failed". so i turn off zip verification and tried again. it flashed perfectly with zero errors. however, when i reboot the phone it would only boot to stock recovery and not twrp (expected) or the new rom. i tried that a few times, then tried LineageOS, and MSM Xtended 10. all of them had the same issue, the flashed without a hitch, then wouldnt boot.
i also tried flashing a new fw-vendor and it just straight up failed. Then i decided to cut my losses and restore my twrp backup, and that came back with the error, "extractTarFork() process ended with error: 255"
Software before i began these attempts was completely stock, so i dont know what is going wrong, but as of now, my phone is bricked, i cant install a new rom or restore my back-up.
any help is appreciated guys. thanks
You can figure out this problem with
1 Copy backup folder to computer
2- Format Data - Yes , Wipe Everything
3- Install ROM that you have installed before and boot
4- Go to TWRP, format data yes reboot recovery
5- Paste backup folder to internal storage and restore
When I was using stock RealmeUI (android 10) just looking some ROMs for RMX1851. And I've see Corvus ROM, just wanted to install my phone. I enter the TWRP and took a nandroid backup except data section and just deleted cache, internal storage, dalvik cache, cache and... vendor. Then I swipe to install and boom! ERROR 7. And I just wanted to back to stock ROM via TWRP nandroid backup. What happened? of course it didn't work. Nothing see wrong while restoring backup but the device doesn't boot up. I can still enter TWRP and flash somethings. And last thing is the build.prop file is not in their place.(/system/build.prop) Please help me.
Can someone take and share realmeUI nandroid backup please? This method might work.
Just flash realme ui ota file
Don't you think I didn't try that? It doesn't work.
As the title says I always get a bootloop into recovery when the restore process finishes.
I tried everything, flashing the same rom as in the backup before restoring, however it never boots normally.
As I am on a stock MIUI 13 I flashed the stock image and then restored the backup, still a bootloop into recovery.
No matter what I do I am unable to restore my TWRP backup, so every time I want to try a new ROM I end up reinstalling everything from scratch.
Is it because my data is encrypted, or dynamic partitions? This never happened with any of my previous phones, is it possible to restore a backup on Mi10?

Backups and restore on the TWRP with some phone models does not work correctly either because it does not decrypt or is too old compared to the rom or you try to restore an older rom version on a more recent rom and sometimes the reverse also does not work (because of the system).
Try a more recent Twrp (just in case) but anyway the restoration will not be done with a more recent Twrp.
If you are on MIUI micloud works relatively well but obviously you can only restore the data not the system.

try flashing miui 12 rom first, then restore twrp back up (format data also before restoring)
and chose the latest version of twrp for android 11 or 12 (depends on your Rom)
maybe it will work
