Maybe for old motorola models, the newer models have the message coded into the bootloader.

Nothing can be done
Sorry, have to disagree.... mines the same, coded to bootloader.
No, not for 'OLD' Fones, there are many versions, they work on my armor x5 10_Q, and hundreds of other's, nothing wrong with TESTING.

Remember this is for MTK {mediatek} devices only
Found this info above.
If you have a working link for non-mediatek devices to share, share it. Otherwise people here are going to flash uncompatible stuff.

I was wondering how Carrier and Country affect getting updates? I have a Z Ultra 6802 (HK - came with Chinese apps) and haven't seen the 501 update on my phone yet and I really don't want to unlock the bootloader.
So I guess my ultimate question is: Will I get the update in the US while on AT&T? (I'm ok waiting, just want to know)
Thanks,
toonhead

Eventually. Or you can do what I did and flash a generic 510. Then use PC companion to repair if it doesn't work properly. When repaired, a new version of 510 is installed by Sony that works.

Look at the opening posts for both these threads. The first shows you how to flash the firmware that will need repair and the second will show you how to repair.

Thanks, flashed 510! That was easy Even tho I saw no problems, I repaired anyways.
It would be nice for root for AT&T v10 ? it shouldn't be difficult since other variants already rooted. If someone can make it I would appreciate it. All I want us root I don't care for rooms or kernels just root.
huh? Am I missing something? I thought only V10 variant that can be rooted was t-mobile, and all other variants cannot be rooted at this point.

Umm why not? It doesn't have a locked bootloader like Samsung does. I'm sure there is an exploit for it, if I had the know how I'd do it myself. As a matter of fact you can oem unlock it in settings yourself.

Can I unlock, or what does it mean, I have no PIN password?
Big thanks

It's the same TWRP that's being used for ROG Phone 3 but it *should* also work on the ZF7 Series.

Unlocking bootloader may result in complete deletion of Widevine keys. You may not get it back even if you have raw firmware. Keep this in mind.

Definitely a good point.
Perhaps someone can confirm this happens on the Zenfone?
I should be receiving mine by early next week and happy to report back what happens. I'll be unlocking/rooting regardless

From my understanding, it's mostly for streaming services such as Netflix. Netflix won't work in HD if don't have Widevine L1 certification.

TWRP is still WIP. The one being used for ROG Phone 3 should work, I just need to include the dtb(o) info for it to boot on the ZF7 series. I'll be working on that over the next several weeks, so if anyone else has the device and would like to help test, let me know.
I don't have the device so I'm completely reliant on feedback from testers.

TWRP is ready. I'll be opening the thread shortly. Of course I'm not sure why there's separate forums for the 7 and 7 Pro, but I imagine the same TWRP should work on both. I'll just post the thread in this section for now.

OK so anyone know why I was able to download a firmware from t-mobile I think, cause I couldn't find the aio, region for my phone, anyway so a phone thats not suppose to have android 12 let me flash it, it's still cricket, but now it has android 12, 4.1 home or whatever Samsungs yea, I also tried flashing a stock version of vzw variant and it also let me, I mean not sure if it's normal but it worked, although it does throw a error, then you factory reset and takes a minute to restart, just saying fir anyone with this phone, to give it a shot, lol but I ain't responsible for brick, but there's always a way out of that
I have an a037U1 on android 12. Also, you won't find cricket firmware.
anyone knows how to unlock a037u cricket network? i already tried with the inside app and it always displays " sorry this device can not be unlocked ".
thx for your help.
