[Snapdeggon Variant]
.
Hello, the unofficial method to unlock the bootloader given over at http://forum.miui.co.in/forum/mi-de...5165-redmi-note-3-snapdragon-unlock-the-beast is not working for me, no matter how many fastbboot ROMs I flash with Mi Flash Tool, or upgrade / downgrade using stock RECOVERY ZIP files.
Everytime same error, at fastbbot oem unlock-go it says "Invalid unlock token" or something like that.
.
I have already received confirmation sms for Official unlock, but that method not working, it is stuck at 50% and says "Please verify that same mi account should be logged in to device" or something like that.
.
Are these known issues already? And if yes, any other workarounds???
.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot !!!
It is a common known issue. I unlocked by first bricking my phone by flashing MIUI rom when unofficially unlocked, then my phone unlocked using the miflash unlock tool. Alternatively you could flash the global dev or china dev rom in order to unlock

So flash China Dev then unlock officially?
Also, won't it really result in exchange of modem partitions instead of Indian modem that I currently have?

First you have to switch to miui rom and relock your bootloader . Then pray that you don't get stuck at 50 % .
I got the permission to unlock bootloader two weeks ago but stuck at 50% .
I flashed every rom be it global stable or Dev , china stable and dev and that too every previous version of MIUI (Wasted so much of data) but to no avail .
Finally I unlocked the bootloader unofficially .
Xiaomi is ****ing lazy to update our account on there server....
So doesn't matter what rom you install you have to wait atleast a week to unlock

Hey bro a little update . I unlocked the bootloader unofficial way and it was over a week after I got the confirmation SMS . So wanted to go back to MIUI with locked bootloader state for official unlocking .
Flashed the fastboot rom through MiFLash and I was back to MIUI with locked bootloader state and then unlocked it officially .
Hope it helps .

OH developers please port a rom to oppo a57
its an awsome device its got 3gb ram snapdragon 435 and 720 p display please guys port it colour os sucks help needed
OP, I know you posted this in the find5 thread as you wanted them to port the rom from this phone but since it's for the a57 I assume this technically isn't the right place to do it, anyhow:
From what I can tell Oppo has restricted access to the bootloader on these phones and we still don't have a working root method. Until either one of these circumstances changes it is unlikely that any development can begin for these phones.
If any senior devs out there have skills in reverse engineering, I would be more than happy to donate to the cause or maybe even flash your betas because at this stage what I have is a well spec'd phone that's as useful as a brick thanks to Oppo's abhorrent ColorOS. I just want root or an unlocked bootloader.
I'm offering $25aus as a starting point and I'm sure others would get on board with me since we all spent the equivalent of $300aus for a P.O.S phone.

Can confirm rooting method works but it seems like it corrupts your NV partition. Make sure you've taken a backup of yours before proceeding. Check back as we nut out a solution.
I currently have my phone rooted and TWRP installed but the bootloader still needs to be unlocked or a tool similar to magictricks.zip needs to be made to enable/install fastboot binaries on this device.
Anyone here familiar with doing this?
I can provide you with backups of the file system.
Let's get these phones free, next stop roms.

From what I've read, there isn't a high likelihood of us getting fastboot. The main reason bootloader unlocking was possible with previous models was due to Oppo's release of 'project spectrum' firmware.
Our best approach is to make our voices heard on the Oppo forums and/or learn about reverse engineering bootloaders to create a solution.
I'm grateful that we have root (at a cost of signal), it's an excellent starting point at least. Have patience.
I have the unlocked version of this phone. I don't see anything about root or unlocking the bootloader? Really all I want is root so I can run Network Signal Guru...
Good morning,
unfortunatly I checked yesterday and wrote also to the dev... it is still not available from Official LG Web site.

Unlocked versions is about the carrier is unlocked meaning it doesn't have a carrier/plan locked with it. It doesn't mean it have an unlocked bootloader. If you really want a unlocked bootloader phone in 2020, get OnePlus or Xiaomi, they are more dev friendly.
Also, with LG's history of supporting developers, this will not likely to get unlocked bootloaders later.

I think Motorola is dev friendly too. My friend say they give everything to root her phones. ??
I don't think someone will find a way to root the LG phones after the V30 model. My old phone before my new G8x was the V30 and it was complex to root, so I don't know for the most recent models ??*

I know but it shows that systemless root could be used and GSI roms could be used if twrp and root can be achieved.

Yea, you are right. But you guys won't get unlcoks and root anyway because you know LG's history. But it is a possibility that LG might allow that 1-2 years later.
Can we unlock the bootloader on the G8x with this method?

It seem that this tutorial from LG work with the LG G7. But, I wonder if it work on the most recent model.

You don't need network signal guru. There's some secret code that you can get from a simple google search to get into the secret field test menu. It gives all the network related info and let's you lock on to specific 4g bands as well.
LG supports G850EMW for G8X as well as V50s. I already received unlock.bin.
A bigger problem is extracting boot.img from the stock ROM. The latest LG KDZ Extract tool is from 2014 and doesn't handle the new DZ format.
Using the 'KSZ extractor for new format KDZs' by runningnak3d I could extract boot.img from a G850EMW20a ROM (Android 10). This will allow systemless root with Magisk.
Dec 15: rooted.

Wow.. nice
It seems like there's a variant of the V60 that can be bootloader unlocked (the Euro ver.) and back when I had the V30 we did something similar where you would have to convert your NA variant (Or any variant that was not listed in LG's official bootloader unlocking site [EXCEPT T-MOBILE]) to the supported variant's firmware then flash the unlock.bin file.
I dont know how useful this will be for the V60 though, just sharing my previous experience just too scared to test this method on my daily driver.

Yes, european versions(mine) always get bootloader unlock. But from what I know it's impossible to unlock any other versions untill someone find an exploit. And since v60 isn't very popular I doubt there will be unlock for any other version of it(about european).

Only European version of v60 supports bootloader unlocking. So you can't get root.
That's why I'll never buy this. Will stick with my old LG which is good enough.
damn what a shame, such a great phone and yet not much interest in general.
According to Unlock Bootloader Support list from LG, LMV600EA is the only device ca n be root
with the long battery life and extra screen and stylus , the v60 might be my first daily driver thats not got root.
I used to use lots of apps for root, mainly firewall to block apps from internet use and UI apps for fast system navigation and non standard features, but most of these can now be done with non root apps and cloning apps with networking disabled now, so im feeling i might just survive without the few apps that do need root.

Hello all,
I plan to get a OnePlus 10T soon UNLOCKED model.
What are my prospects for installing a custom ROM now or in the future? I had a OP 9 a few months ago & only had it for a short time.

If you can't get to fastboot, you need msm and you put your phone on EDL mode. I had to do this numerous times on my 8T. It's a clean and safe way to get back to stock in almost any situation.

So you didn't flash the entire stock rom? Just the boot image? It is not clear.
For unbricking entire rom is usually needed so I was looking for examples of a full stock rom flash.
I am also looking for a stock version for CPH2417... payload.bin would be amazing.
I softbricked (bootloop) and had to use the CPH2413 (India) software (not good)
